Emily as an Australian I will say that stubby tails are always docile, even wild ones, I used to go herping and they've always just been very friendly, very chill. They are amazing lizards
theyre a bit less docile when your dog is holding them (don't worry she was so gentle none ever got hurt) I've seen my fair share of grumpy stumpy tails
It’s interesting to hear them referred to as Shingleback or stumpytail lizards. In WA, I’ve always heard them referred to as bobtails, or just blue tongues. Wonder if it’s just official name vs colloquialism, or if it’s a state thing.
"We were surprised to have so many fans on the west coast" I laughed so hard because even here in Europe you guys are famous xD If you ever want to come to the Exoknaag Houten (Netherlands) or the Terraristika Hamm show (Germany), I'd bet money you'd get stopped before you entered the buildings ^^
Here in South Africa we call those millipedes "shongo-lolo's". They breed like crazy here and all hatch towards the end of Spring (I'm in a small coastal village on the east coast - some mornings I spend a good 10min moving all the "shongo-lolo's" safely off my driveway so I can take my boys to school) 🤭🪱

Hey! Great video but just a tip on the millipedes, I wouldn’t co hab them together as the pink dragons (I believe they’re the orthomorpha species) can produce cynanide as a defence if stressed out and with the size the Giants are in comparison they will do. Potentially can harm the orthomorpha during molting if they’re digging around. You can co hab millipedes of similar size and for the giant africans I’d recommend other large African species and keep the pink dragons on their own😄

It’s really fun to see Emily so excited over the shingleback lizards, here in Australia they are a very common staple of reptile programs and for a lot of people are the first reptile they held.

We have had shingle back lizards living in out backyard! (I'm from Australia) Love when they move in and eat up all the bugs eatting out plants (make sure never to spray anything to kill them and check where they are before mowing the grass.
I have a question. When it comes to handling the different reptiles. Do you wash your hand before going to a different table or seller to prevent any cross contamination? I've never been to any reptile expo and I'm genuinely curious.
As someone who recently moved from CA back to the East Coast, I think the Pomona show is far better than Tinley for variety. I swear, there are waaaay too many ball python vendors at Tinley. Pomona has tons of exotics.

4:21 I totally thought she was holding 2 lizards 😆 It’s wild how similar looking the head and tail are
Great video! I’m so excited to go to my first USARK auction at Tinley!!!
Well they usually have hand sanitizer that you use
@@SpAc3B3e ohh ok I see. That makes sense. Thank you for answering my questions. 😁
@@jenniedraws406 you're welcome :)
that's so exciting to see CBB egyptian false cobras!!! Such a cool species, and so lizard-like behaviorally in a weird way
fun to meet you guys!
I love how Emily went on the wrong way on the table😂😂so funny
As someone who recently moved from CA back to the East Coast, I think the Pomona show is far better than Tinley for variety. I swear, there are waaaay too many ball python vendors at Tinley. Pomona has tons of exotics.
So excited they got African giant millipedes!!! I've been hunting after this species for years and it'd be great to get some from Snake Discovery!
Waiting for the day Ed and Emily visit Australia and see all the reptiles
I feel they both would explode from excitement..
Omg I've wanted Giant African Millipedes for years, so exciting! I worked with them at a Zoo when I was younger, so cool
Great video! did you guys see Forrest and Patrick from The Wild Times Podcast?
