As a dad like Andrew, I have a 3 year old, staying organized is key and just more important as they get older. Everyone talks about "Mom brain" and not being able to remember things but I've got some dad brain like myself. I've been using Google back when they had both reminders and tasks in Google Calendar. I never knew when to use either so I love that they just consolidated to be only Tasks. I don't even bother using the Tasks app as I prefer to see it in the calendar so that I can see make sure things don't clash with my calendar, my wife's, my kid's, and others. And being and to voice command reminders on my Pixel Watch, 8 Pro, Nest devices is extremely useful. Lastly, if I have to remember to get something on the way home from work, I find it better to just set my navigation to that destination so I don't just go straight home out of habit. Oh and in regards to Google Keep, I don't use it at all for any reminders. Just notes, thoughts, and lists.
A funny thing with Marques flying in from the Gold Coast of Australia for the event, is that he will be going from a place where the event is at 3am in the morning on Tuesday the 10th to a place that it's at 10am on Monday the 9th. The timezone change is crazy
@@fidaananver since the "hand rail" of the staircases at apple park have the shape of marble circuits wher you put one at the top floor and it would roll in the rail until the ground floor! (it's in the Studio video where they shot the behind the scenes of the apple event 2023)
On the recurring scheduled tasks topic, I am exactly like Andrew and not at all like David. I need to schedule myself down to the day if I’m going to get certain things done. Last year I made a whole schedule for myself for house cleaning on weekends. Certain things recur every week, some every two weeks, etc. I was so bogged down with cleaning that it felt insurmountable. Now I can get my tasks done in short chunks each weekend and never feel like it’s too much. If I didn’t have this, I would never get all of those things done. That is a guarantee.
lol David’s sounding like Andrew 5 months ago without a productivity app…lol now we need another podcast with David to help David get into a productivity app!! I’m exactly like David, I just tell myself to remember but it does fail, know exactly what you mean!
It’s so weird that they set up the trivia questions in advance and have time to research the answer and they get them wrong. Like I can literally google “Apple Event September 20xx” and put that for each year. It takes like 3 minutes to do all the years. It makes them look incompetent sometimes
I dont know if I’m weird or what but I find the icloud suite to be my favorite to-do style app. There is so much functionality while being simple. I just stopped using the Google apps once I learned you can get all the icloud stuff in a web browser.
as a music producer his explanation of perceived loudness made me so happy lol you are not alone friend. Lemme know if yall ever need some bass music lemme know! love the show
Productivity thing I miss from my old Windows Phone was location based reminders from Cortana. "When i get home remind me to...."or "when I'm at the grocery store remind me to...." also the people reminders, "next time i talk to my mom remind me to." any call/text/email to that person brings up the reminder.
derrick gee is one of the coolest people on the internet right now, love seeing yall shout him out! his podcast ep about kissa bar culture in japan was incredible for the music/hi-fi heads out there
The way I compartmentalise and decide whether something is a Note, Reminder or Calendar entry is: Notes and Reminders I primarily use for tasks/items that only involve and impact me i.e. no other people/third-parties are involved directly in the thing I'm capturing. Calendar entries I use when I have something that involves or directly impacts other people/third-parties. Apples suite of productivity apps is great because it also allows you to drag and drop notes and email into reminders and vice versa, so everything can talk to each other (and links back to the source via a clickable icon), if you and when you need them to. Its definitely a perk of being in the Apple ecosystem,
Thank you for rhe productivity app discussion. I am going to try Google tasks because of this discussion. Like David I., everything is on my Keep that I need to take note of (especially to-do lists), but my meetings, appointments and events are all in my Google calendar.
Haha, I love how Fridays are for chillin' with the Waveform crew! 🎉 And those productivity app updates got me thinking... maybe I should give mine a good spring cleaning too! Can't wait for the iPhone event, I'm always here for the hype! 📱✨
Shoutout to Garmin for making expensive but super durable watches. I've owned the Fenix 6 for 2 years, bought it after the Fenix 7 was released for much less than the initial price and it is a killer watch, It looks like new and I won't need a new one for several years yet.
Speaking of interesting open headphones, the AKG K1000 has to be an honorable mention for that rabbit hole. Basically just two small speakers suspended along side your ears that you can pivot to change the angle the sound hits your ears.
Garmin has confirmed that the Epix series is finished. Also, note that the 51mm and 47mm have the same screen size (1.4 inches). The 51mm just has thicker bezels and better battery. Personally, the seperate flashlight is probably my favourite feature on a watch.
hey wvfrm pod I used this episode as a wake up call to put my calendar for work into my calendar app instead of having three goblin boy screenshots with the upcoming days. thanks
You guys should totally come do a WVFRM ep from Australia. I'm sure Marques will vouch in that it's beautiful (and not as scary as everyone thinks it is)
I found some kangaroos
FIGHT!
Challenge them to a jump-off
Or they found you
Were they at the zoo? 😂
throw frisbee and see how it goes
I got so hyped when David (both David's) popped in!
All 3
This coming out on Fridays is genius cause I get a double dopamine hit from the new episode and it being a Friday.
I would comment about the end of the podcast, but it’s only been up for 10 minutes, and I don’t listen on 2X like some psychopaths
👹
dang…
U mean David??
Psychopath here. Normal speed feels like slow motion
The problem of being faster than light is that you can only live in darkness
It's the weekend finally in the UK, guys. We start it, of course, with the Waveform podcast. Let's go!!
I've got 2.5 hours til I finish!
Ladies and gentleman, the Weekend.
It's the weekend everywhere
Weekends in the UK are top tier from my experience 😂

Time travelling 🤣😂🤣😂
These come round so quick!! Its FRIDAY!
David Pierce showing up like Captain America in Endgame
Love it when the biggest topic nerd is out of town and you discuss something.
Andrew, remember to BRING THE MARBLE! That's what you said last year!
context?
I'll legit be upset if he misses this chance again
@@fidaananver Last year he said he would bring marbles to apple theatre where event is organised.

Nice, a follow-up to the productivity podcast I've been waiting for.
Ellis’ shirt goes hard.
David making another appearance is always appreciated
Every time David Pierce comes on, a member of the pod is on another continent! 😅😅🤷🏾♂

Waveform gets more chaotic every day
Watching this after the event is pretty funny
Best possible ending for the week
This episode made my night between two Davids and David I talking about Bear's.Also the New Garmin Watch is Beautiful. Thanks for sharing Guy's.💯✌️
I’VE BEEN WAITING PATIENTLY FOR THIS EPISODE

53:29 - There was an event September 15th 2020, it was for the Apple Watch Series 6/SE and iPad Air 4 (and some services)
Yes

I appreciate the Garmin content (:
Happy Fri- **checks calendar** Happy Friday! 🗿🕺🕺🕺
*checks tasks app*
*checks tasks app*
I feel the lack to mention the Reminders app tells you how useful it is!! xD
I love this podcast

1:20 “It’s a Kevin”😂
I love the episode guys!
This topic should recur maybe twice a year. It’s really useful. 👍
Yo, WVFRM! Happy Friday! Hope you're well in AUS, Marques! David: Fire Bonus Ep, this week! Thnx 4 the upload. 🤘
It's 4 PM (CEST) in Milan, Italy, it's Friday, you're watching WVFRM Podcast, it's all right, you're happy
Anche a Firenze! (una settimana dopo però)
Having the trivia answers right away is so much better
as a music producer his explanation of perceived loudness made me so happy lol you are not alone friend. Lemme know if yall ever need some bass music lemme know! love the show
Excellent episode ! 🎉
I'm waiting for the new episode to drop so I have a good reason to charge my phone - and I've charged my phone now! 😝💯
OH MY GOD IT'S DAVID PIERCE!!!!
Adam love the Gunners Jersey
Wonderful episode as always!
1:15:55 Marquez is here. I didn't miss him until I saw him. I think that's a compliment for the team ❤
as an australian its cool that marques is here and cool that australia is mentioned
woke up, heard David telling me to make my bed, proceeds to fold my sheets...who says RUclips is bad for you😂
🤝
"David gets arrested 4 months later"
I just remembered something I had to do last month!! Thanks!
Need a Capacities update from David P since the pod is live now!

I’m excited about Garmin, Andrew! You should do full reviews of the Fenix 8 line-up, maybe on the studio channel.
The mention of making your bed made me go watch ADM McRaven's UT commencement speech again from 10 years ago. Still all very good lessons!
GARMIN MENTIONED 🎉🎉🎉
Love the "runnin...running" call-out from Andrew around 57:00

Adam repping Arsenal!! 🔥
Murk Garmin is comedy gold, Ellis is just too high IQ for the rest of the studio
Thank you for rhe productivity app discussion.
I am going to try Google tasks because of this discussion.
Like David I., everything is on my Keep that I need to take note of (especially to-do lists), but my meetings, appointments and events are all in my Google calendar.
Me after this episode: “I should add waveform to my todo list every Friday”
Team David for life!❤🖤🤍
Why can't I like this more than once
oh productivity apps--I might actually have to watch this
Big up my guy Adam in an Arsenal shirt 🫡
Adam is a Gooner!!
He was wearing a Real Madrid jersey the other day. Fútbol up!
I really want to see a video or a podcast about using only Apple task managers and calendars, etc.
420K subscribers congratulations
“Are my lies starting to bend reality?!” 😂
I got the Fenix 8. It's awesome. The large orange piece protects the mic.
7:23 Lumia had shutter button on the side which would half press for focus. Iphone having that would be nice
I wish you would do actual Garmin videos on the other channels! Sports technology is interesting, and you could bring different perspectives.
The ending is the best part. LOL😂
Great feature is now iOS 18’s feature of combining reminders with calendar - works fantastic for me! Well done apple!
Haha, I love how Fridays are for chillin' with the Waveform crew! 🎉 And those productivity app updates got me thinking... maybe I should give mine a good spring cleaning too! Can't wait for the iPhone event, I'm always here for the hype! 📱✨
hoping for another full episode of Marques nerding out about productivity apps 😆
I'm liking this podcast just to see what happens if they hit 10k lol - but a good episode all the same!

A whole episode of apple speculation... how thrilling!
VERGECAST CROSSOVER LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!!
Two position switch with focus and click, YES! I can't wait for cheaper phones to copy it 🎉
i love how ellis just sat straight and clapped crazy when andrew got disappointed by garmin
40:29 Aw man! Andrew is just the guy everyone wants after a deep insight!!!😂😂😂
Started using Google tasks after this podcast. Now Google knows all my tasks.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing it. ✌️
i never miss an episode
I saw the intro and I was like "ITS THE MULTIVERSE OF PODCASTS"
YESS GARMIN UPDATES! (just got an Epix Gen 2)
Good luck Marques!
Speaking of interesting open headphones, the AKG K1000 has to be an honorable mention for that rabbit hole. Basically just two small speakers suspended along side your ears that you can pivot to change the angle the sound hits your ears.
Congrats to Marques and good luck!
Loved it!! But Missed Marques though :"(
This week we got spoiled 2 episodes ❤❤❤😂😂
Make an auto Focus podcast episode and invite Miles
I love David’s shirt.
Loving the new Marquez
Thanks! Made me feel better about not finishing all my reminders daily lol
The 1/100th 🙋♂️ had the Fenix 8 almost a week now 🔥
Garmin has confirmed that the Epix series is finished. Also, note that the 51mm and 47mm have the same screen size (1.4 inches). The 51mm just has thicker bezels and better battery. Personally, the seperate flashlight is probably my favourite feature on a watch.
The intro tripped me out, wait I didn't click on the vergecast, yep this is indeed the waveform podcast.
No one mentioned the new Reminder button built into the Screenshot UI on Pixel 9!! Total game changer right there!
hey wvfrm pod I used this episode as a wake up call to put my calendar for work into my calendar app instead of having three goblin boy screenshots with the upcoming days. thanks
You guys should totally come do a WVFRM ep from Australia. I'm sure Marques will vouch in that it's beautiful (and not as scary as everyone thinks it is)
I love Google task! Use it every day. Simple, not over engineered. It does what it is supposed to do
I organize my Todoist from Peter Akkies Todoist videos. Highly recommend!
