This little series has been so fun to watch, and i think it would be really cool to do something similar in a “telephone” style where someone builds a house in one game and the next person tries to recreate it in a different game, and repeat. Maybe each person only gets a certain amount of time to see the previous build and does the rest from memory? Then of course you’d have to compare the first and last houses.

That makes so much sense. It's cool but it was definitely a "wild they didn't think of it sooner", so it would make sense that they actually had and just couldn't implement it in 4 until now.
Idk whats going on behind the scenes, but either half the people there just absolutely don't care (doubt) or the base game was coded so badly that EVERYTHING is a slog to build on top of it. There's not a single really "new" part of this then other than stuff you could have gotten from cc ages ago. It's a shame they're not more transparent. I've been in a situation where a similar thing happened with a site that was built *really* poorly and we just had to make-do and sloooowly fix it. People were a lot more sympathetic to how awful it was once they saw there was effort and that it was just a really brutally bad situation. There's not much they could say that would make the situation worse at this point

As someone who’s played the sims since The Sims 1, I think The Sims 4 doesn’t get enough credit for how much easier it is to play and how much simpler the UI is, especially in build mode. It’s always negative comments about how The Sims 4 doesn’t have cars, open world, color wheel, or whatever the other games had, but I think a lot of people don’t realize how taxing the game was to run for someone who doesn’t have a beast of a computer, or knowledge of the game UI when it comes to building. The Sims 4 is much more user friendly and accessible for people who don’t have a computer that costs thousands of dollars.

The sims 4 does everything I want it to, and it looks good doing it, and that’s why it’s my favourite. Other people value parts of this game that are admittedly lacking and I suppose it’s fair that they don’t want to play it over the other games, but frankly I’m sick of just seeing constant negativity. There’s a difference between constructive criticism and just complaining all the time over a game you literally weren’t forced to buy. If you don’t want to play the sims 4, then just don’t? If you don’t like a pack, just don’t buy it?
I genuinely enjoy this game and I've encountered barely any bugs while playing it, and every time I’ve felt burned out or bored it’s been because of my depression, not because the game is lacking. The sims community is toxic as all hell. The moment you have a positive opinion about anything to do with The Sims 4 you’ll be swarmed.

I just had a build challenge idea: what if you played a builder's telephone game, which would basically follow the rules of the party game telephone. Basically one simmer builds a house, then you show it to another simmer who can only look at the build for a limited amount of time before they have to recreate it from memory. They then show a different person who gets to look at their build before they have to recreate it. You could pass this along to multiple simmers and I think it would be SO fun!

This was so interesting to watch!
Had an idea for a video maybe? Do this but with other Sims players like a game of Telephone. Make the first house then have someone else rebuild in Sims 2, third person only gets to look at the second house then rebuild it in Sims 3, and so on. You could even give your build a theme or special room and see how well it translates going through 3 other people and games. Just an idea 😅
Keep up the great work, can't wait to see more!

  • @lo0katmyn4me

I think the most notable thing I've picked up from this is just how different Sims 4 is compared to the rest. 1-3 seem like a pretty natural evolution of the same game, and 4 is like a reboot of the series, almost. Add in the outrage people had towards 4 on release, how many people still swear off of 4, and all the 'missing' features on release, I think that idea kind of fits.
And honestly, the series is probably better for it.

One thing this has emphasized for me is how much easier it is to build in Sims 4 (especially for beginner builders) and make it look good. Disregarding the lack of customization options on items, I think the buy/build mode is the only redeemable factor of TS4 in comparison to the TS3 and TS2. It's just so much less stressful for me to build in the Sims 4 than it is in the older games.

I was really raving about the new dream decor pack with the new oven and stove top. Then I realized you can’t put them on top of each other. Sure you can use move objects. But the gas one clicks. Again, sure you can use the electric stove top which looks fine and is what I was doing in my designs until I did it in my own house and realized that the OVEN is UNUSABLE. Which totally blew my mind. I had done that looks in like ever design up to that point.
I had to stop because I realize that the oven functionality was gone. You could still use the stove top. But that it. So they do in fact need to be on separate counters. But, based on how the Sims team advertised it as separate, I believe then that this is more intentional and is unlikely to ever be “fixed” including the gas stove top glitching into the oven/counter when place on top of oven.
