Looks like a winner. A good alternative to that $400 Alpha filter touted by Joe Brancato.
Joe B's Stuff is overpriced and for the people with $$$ to blow... NOT for your average Airgunners. Also, I understand its HIS Business and hes gotta do what hes gotta do to make the money he wants or calls himself "needing" to make BUT If he gets the chance... He will tell you that you need things you really dont AND He will sell you a bunch of overpriced stuff you really dont need to go along with the 1 thing that you originally .started out to get to make that $$$ ...Joe B's all about those Benjamins... & Its not that Im really knocking that, or putting it down, or whatever... HOWEVER... Theres a way to go about it, and a way NOT to go about it, and I dont really care for JB's ways/tactics or whatever ya wanna call them, to make that money. I just personally feel he goes about things the wrong way and I dont like that. Theres Nothing wrong with being a salesman or even selling people things that they really dont need, But IMO You cross the line when you tell them that they need those things when you know they dont and you know that they are hard pressed at the time on funds. Also you cross a line when you flat out lie and say youre the only one who has the right product they need at the moment when its just simply not the truth. So people all id say is do like I did, and do your due diligence before you buy and findout what all is really out there and make list of sellers, items, prices, etc.etc. So you can reference back to them easily for comparison and so on and so forth. Other than that you really just got to do the ground work for yourself if you really want OR need to save some cash and learn whats out there. 1 last thing. Dont be afraid of China parts and products. There are good and bad 1s just like with American products. No difference.

As for your views of Joe B, well I guess you're entitled to your wrong opinion. Contrary to your claims, after watching quality content from JB 2.5 years ago I called and had several conversations with him regarding tanks, fittings, compressors, and filters. He most certainly did not lead me to the most expensive options and was quite helpful in providing the pros and cons of various options. I have nothing against people taking their chances with low-priced Chinese products, but you are taking risks. If you're prepared to deal with finicky products with components that may, or may not fail within days, weeks, or months, then by all means pay your money and take your chances.
Take a look at the excellent videos on the Yong Heng compressors from Air Velocity Sport (on RUclips). In several videos he describes the pros and cons of these inexpensive, light-duty compressors. They worked for him, but if you watch all 3 videos (covering over > 2 yrs of ownership, purchase of his 2nd compressor, numerous parts ordered from China to repair or maintain the unit or upgrade it for increased reliability) you'll see and hear a rundown of all the parts that failed and had to be replaced. This includes the death of his 1st compressor after a little more than 1 year, as well as the failure (starter relay) or impending failure of multiple components and fittings (rusting and aluminum corrosion) and the need to periodically take apart the unit for servicing. I question whether most purchasers are patient enough and skilled enough to successfully run one of these bargain-basement compressors for more than a few months.
My preference was to pay a little more up front figuring that the chances of a problem are reduced (but no eliminated) and knowing that there was someone I could call to get diagnostic advice, service parts, and servicing instructions if I were to run into trouble down the line.
@@randomvideosfilmcollection3161 i almost got jewed by that little bastard but thankfully did some research. instead of paying over $900 for a 97 cf tank, I got a made in USA 66 cu ft for 90 bucks shipped, and china fill station hose for $60. and I noticed as i was putting all the pieces together, everything Joe said he was the only one with dual gauges on the tank... My tank has dual gauges... one for line pressure and one for bottle pressure..and i didn't have to spend $300 on a valve

Guess who I bought a compressor from? China. Know why? the internet is full of parts and tutorials. Don't buy high-end, buy mainstream. Oh, his $400 moisture filter is no different than the $50 chinese one. KNow how I know? I spent hours researching it. That compressor he sells for 1200 on his website sells on aliexpress and alibaba for ~800 bucks.

Many of these improvised filter designs are seriously compromised by the absence of a water trap. Consider this hack. Use the high-quality silica crystals from (unscented) cat litter (new, not used!!!) - a very cost-effective desiccant. (Bare in mind that any desiccant or molecular sieve beads can be used.) Grind the crystals into a finer material, and pack the silica into the shortened (by about 25-30mm) inner-canister, tightly plugged with cut-down filter tampons at either end. Don't forget to seal the top end of the inner-canister with an O-ring (for convenience this could be glued to the inner-canister's top rim). At the bottom end of the shortened inner-canister place a washer and a suitably "strongish" spring (within the diameter of the inner-canister) directly underneath the tampon to keep the canister suspended off the bottom of the outer cylinder. This also maintains pressure on the packed material. The resulting gap at the bottom of the outer cylinder forms a water trap. To stop any trapped condensation ingressing back into the whip, glue a 20mm long (this length depends on the spring) piece of suitable heat-resistant tubing over the tiny aperture on the outer-clylinder's screw-on plug. The spring fits over the tube (the washer could be glued to the spring). Ensure the filter assembly is vertical (with the moisture trap at the bottom!!!). Voila. Quite simple when drawn as a cross-section.
Please tightly pack desiccant beads (shake, shake, shake and press, press, press) to remove all air pockets between beads before replacing foam filters.

Its grate filter and i used 2 years, only 1 issues, when you use it due to the high air pressure force inside the tube, the door cap badly jamming and nearly impossible to re opening for replacement.. i place small metals tube inside the opening hole on the cap and hit it hard with heavy hammer .. this was only possibly way to manage opening the cap, second issue is after re closing, the green o ring may explode due the high pressure and cos leaking air.. Its so nice if they add a few more o rings because after both o ring explode, i was unable to find it in all tools store in Belgium.. until i order it from same seller at AliExpress..

How do I know when to replace filler? Is it every 3 months?? I know the hill mk4 pump says so, every 3-4 months or presence of moisture.
I have a Tuxing filter that only uses the white cloth filters. I'm thinking of using a desiccant instead. Can you explain why you put yours into a separate tube inside the alum housing? Why not just two short cloth filters at both ends and desiccant in between? Why the extra tube?

One can't just pack beads in a cylinder for 2 VERY important reasons.
A) It doesn't work because of "Channeling" : We'd all like to just make a filter that uses cheap beads packed in a cylinder, but the first issue is that without proper packing, "channeling" will occur between the media. Simply put, channeling is the situation where air just goes around the individual filter "beads" instead of being "scrubbed". In order to work, the media need to be properly "jam packed" into the a container element, and this filter element put in a filter tube. Filter elements are manufactured to be "jam packed". Putting the media into a tube doesn't pack it tight enough to prevent channeling at high pressures. Replacement filter elements are inexpensive, so it isn't an issue.
B) Most importantly SAFETY. NEVER make a high pressure filter where the filter material directly touches the cylinder walls of a high pressure filter. This is filter element 101. The moisture in filter media leaches acid, and hence must not come in direct contact with the filter tube. Acid that leaches out will eventually make it to the walls of the vessle and threads on the end-caps of the filter, weakening them, and eventually causing the high possibility of catastrophic failure. This point can't be stressed enough.
Points A) & B) are why every high pressure filter uses media that is jam-packed into either a plastic or stainless steel sleeve. So it works, and works SAFELY!
@@schlomoshekelstein908 Silica Gel (Silicon dioxide) is inert, it doesn't react with water. Therefore, no acid forms.
One can pack an aluminum tube as tightly as a plastic one. Silica Gel beads are round, therefore one can, at best, obtain cubic closest packing, by vibration principally, not pressure.
There may be a another material someone might use as a molecular sieve with different chemistry, but I see little point in using a desiccant that would form an acid with water when water is exactly what one intends to absorb. It's been a while (1984) but I did study Chemical Engineering for 4 years at UofU. So if I'm missing something, please explain.
At any rate, the idea is to monitor the Silica Gel and bake it dry again when it become significantly saturated.

@@schlomoshekelstein908 If so, then what and why? SiO2 is more than capable of absorbing the water, it can be regenerated and is relatively cheap. One needs a damn good reason to use something that forms an acid in a 30Mpa vessel. That makes no sense, therefore I question the claim that it does.

Of course it is better to make all the replacement fillers tightly. you can use any tools (right size) with flat ends, Tight is better for oil-water absorber effect.
