Thanks for publishing this. My Avenger can run pretty high pressures and last night wile filling my my Carbon tank the disk blew. Had no idea how to replace. Very simple but it sure helps to see a video like this. First disk in almost one year of use. Thanks again!
I just purchased my compressor. I have not even taken out of the box yet. This was helpful information. In my line of work, we refer to the disc as (Rupture Disc).
Below is the link to the tank- Both compressor and tank still working great. Have not had any disk blow outs since that one time. I do keep my tank around 3000-3500 rather than going all the way up to 4500. I only do that if I'm going to be away from my place and want to shoot a lot. At 3500 I get lots of fills for my PCP Air Rifles. Filling to 4500 takes a lot more time and wears the oil faster not that its big deal it doesn't use much oil but I want to keep the wear down as much as possible so it last a long time. I also run it for about 15-20 min then let it rest 5-10 min and then run again two to three cycles will get me up to around 3500 PSI it take me about 1 hr to go to 4500
Thanks Paul. Its a good little pump. But the best videos evwe come from Southern Gunner. Pretty easy to tell he knows what he's talkin about. & i bet he can shoot the eyes off a flea at 100 yd.s. plus & this is rare, id bet he could field strip a pcp in pinch. In a blind, with 4 tools . Check out a 2nd filter for that tank cause that pump will piss oil to it if u let it. Silica pellets in Tuxing's desicant gold .dryer./ filter. Worth 100x its cost. About what that tank cost. No shop will fill it if they smell that oil. Keep the shiney side up. And watch S.G. . Rick. Theres a smart guy out there with our pump will show u what im sayn about the tuxing. AMAZING . Just like S. Gunnie...Rick
Paul and all u y.heng,rs... PLEASE B4 u screw up those pretty nww D.o.t.?? Tanks.. check out and subsc . To Air Velocity Sport. This guy may help u keep your eyes. Ears and those shiney chinese?? Tanks like u want them to be.. safe. Hes a well of smartz. Take a 5 hr. Energy 1st. But he will save u time . Tanks.. fingers and stuff u use after shootin. Trust is hard out here. But im not askin for amything u don't have but might wanna keep.! A safe shooter gets older than an excited shooter. Id like to shoot alot. And im old learn it. Then turn it. On. Peace out. Rick.
That unit is so popular in the US and I'm sure other English speaking countries, it seems the manufacturer would take the time to write a good manual for it and have it translated by someone who knows how to do it, not the Chinglish sometimes seen on Chinese made products.
I been waiting on that or the hoses or any part of it to pop. But I have all my hose connections tied with a short strong string to the other side of the connection. To hope it don’t fly around. I know something is coming
See the tallest part that's Aluminum and meets up with the black part on the bottom. Where they meet on the back side of the aluminum part there is a small hole it slides into. That is where the piston is and it monitors that temp so it doesn't over heat.
WARNING: Please check your unit for stress cracking where the compressor cylinder bolts to the thin casing. I had a Young Heng compressor rated for 300 bars (4250 PSI) per their add it is rated for 4500 PSI, I used this compressor to top of my air tanks to 300 bar which my air rifle requires. The crank case where the compressor cylinders attach fail and exploded throwing the pistons and case framents flying. The rupture disk did not fail so the pressure was not exceded. The air pressure reached the 300 bar - 4,250 PSI as I reached to open the pressure blow down valve and close the air tank valve the explosion occured. The machine oil level was check before running, the water circulation was checked and found acceptable. In addition I was montering the machine running temp. and was at 57C to 60C all item were in the acceptable perimeter as specified by Young Heng manual. I used this unit for a year about every two weeks. Again please check your unit for stress cracking where the compressor cylinder bolts to the thin casing. In my oppion the aluminum case is to thin and cannot stand up to the stresses caused with frequent use.
can you post some pictures and point out where the failure happened or make a video. This is the fist time I have heard of a failure from someone. I never push mine to max on my tank but my airguns are all 25 cal and fill easy.
@@PaulSeymourVA no pictures. Did not happen. From what i know, the only high pressure tube that can explode is the second stage piston and the connecting tubes going to the block where the blow-disc is located. They are too tiny tubes to explode like what he said. The block that connects to the connecting tubes has one way valve that prevents the air from the tank to go back to the connecting tubes if it fails.
ive got the same pump. brand new. the rupture disc in mine blew at 200 bar. way too early. hopefully the replacement wont do this. got some new ones on order anyway. if it keeps blowing at 200 bar im gonna double them up.
Hey fellow gunner. Its called a burst disk. And it functioned just as it was supposed to. Lucky you. Now get the gold tube dissicant filter and remember to bleed out the water. Watch your temp 35-40 c. Put ice in your pump bucket. And safe shooting. You are a lucky guy.
@Richard Herrell: These little compressors are okay for those (such as you) who are mechanically competent and think little or nothing about the kind of tinkering you've described. But those who are not so inclined are utterly baffled by such peripheral requirements, especially when these often intricate details are not clearly explained in a well executed instruction manual -- which is never the case with Chinese products. These Yong Heng compressors would be an outstanding bargain if the burst disk requirement were clearly explained -- along with everything else one needs to know about this little machine. But as it is it is only suitable for use by those with the mechanical skills necessary to "figure it out" and use it properly.
How's your luck filling that tank with the Yong? I have that tank but payed pyramid $. I've always been afraid to let it run too long. Intervals I guess. Been filling guns with mine for 5 years
It may have a broken Reed valve. These are the valves that allow the air to move one way only. A cracked or broken Reed valve will not allow the compressor to build any pressure. A broken connecting rod, or a blow piston can cause this problem too. Worn or torn rings will still allow moving air, but will it will not be able to get near it's rated pressures.
Thank you much for the detailed reply, I'm going to have another look at the compressor and see if I can find the Reed valve as well as the broken connecting rod or blow piston ring(which is what I am hoping it is)
Hey buddy im looking at getting one of these but trying to figure out what plug in type they have im also wanting one with pressure set shut off seems all the ones i can find are 220v. And at the beginning of the video did you say your in Virginia?
Can u help me. I'm having problems with mine. It's getting jammed it spin it to start but something grinding with it. Its killing me. I need help please
The compressor can not be shipped with oil in it. It uses hydraulic oil. Motor oil and most compressor oils will ignite at these high pressures, blowing the whole unit up. Most compressor oils are for compressors with a Max air pressure of 150 psi. These compressors are working in the thousands of pounds of pressure.
Good job buddy I’m pretty interested in this thing. What’s the best website to order this compressor on, I noticed there are dozens of websites all the different prices which one do I trust? Thanks 🙏😎
Kasey Johns still going strong no problems I make sure to change the oil any time it’s cloudy and have not blown a burst disk since I made the video very happy with it still
Hydraulic oil. Never use motor oil. Most compressor oils are not useable either. They can cause an explosion at those high pressures. Hydraulic oil only. I believe the manufacturer's recommendation is 4600 Hydraulic oil. You can get it at any farm store, Lowe's, and Home Depot.
hi I'm using my yong heng for first time tonight and I think i blew my burst disk too. like u siad it could blow a hole in the disc but in my case it has a deep dent. but I cant seem to remove the bad disk. any ideas?
I just bought mine and once i put it to work it worked fine once i hook it up to one of the hpa tank it wouldn't work i reset but no luck i don't know whats wrong very disappointed is there someone that can tell me what's the problem
Dang... I got a 3L tank for the same price you said you paid for that big 6.8L. On the other hand, I got the same compressor for a little cheaper so I guess it evens out. And I only have one pcp gun so I really don’t need such a huge tank.
My tank came from AliExpress and so did my compressor. I will see if I can find the link. I disagree with Bill. I also did research on both items and they have very good reviews and sell to many other countries. The tank was Hydro tested and come marked as such. If he wants to pay $1200 bucks go for it. I have done a lot of business with China and have had carbon fiber rods made for my company. They do lots of carbon fiber work in China for all over the world at very reasonable prices. I would rather spend my cash on guns than overpay for a compressor and a tank. I have also scuba dived all over the world and most of my dives were in the Philippines, Thailand and Japan....Guess what Bill none of thier tanks came from the USA -Andy the oil I used was Mystic ISO Antiwear Hydraulic Oil I got it at Tractor Supply also Shield brand makes it and some auto stores have it. I have also gotten it at Amazon.
Who did you contact to get more explosion proof discs? I've tried to contact several eBay sellers, but I have had no luck in getting them. They either don't speak English, or don't have extra discs or filters. I would be willing to buy some from you if you are willing to sell some. Thanks!
You probably already heard this, put your camera on a separate tripod, not on the table the product is sitting on, the emphasis of the entire picture jumping every time you hit that air tank really wasn't needed...LOL!
Nice - I agree, been shopping for both and they are 2 grand for both in the us - Im in CA. People will guard their source and supplier and make a ton on the consumer until someone figures it out like u have - good job!

Mine burst just before 3000 even thought its rated to 4500 but they said the disk are not always exact so far i have no need to fill to 4500 I get lots of fills of my Hatsan at 3000 so I would rather not fill it all the way to 4500 anyway.
Almost any dive shop that fills tanks will have burst discs and would sell you one, however most of their discs will be for 3500 psi. Finding 4500-5000 psi burst discs will probably require ordering them. Always keep spare discs. They are not only used on compressors, there is also a burst disc on the tank valve. Moisture in the he high pressure air can cause premature failure of your burst discs. Even if you only have a tank, keep spare burst discs in stock.
I wouldn't trust my life on cheap Chinese "egineering". This equipment is not only cheap and nasty, it is cheap and dangerous. I hope that they ban the import of these things here in England.

Rupture disks provide a safe release of excess pressure.

It's because it is lubed with hydraulic oil. Never use compressor oil or motor oil to lube this style compressor. It could cause it to explode.
