All of your videos are informative and very thorough. I am new to PCP air rifles and accessories. But your videos are breaking down the learning curve for me and I very much appreciate the time and effort that you put in for the rest of us to make informed decisions on what equipment would work best for us. Again, Thanks.
I got some good use of mine and it works brilliantly A few good pointers is to use distilled water with regular coolant fluid for aluminum motors Else the aluminum compressor head will be pitted pretty quickly inside, dissolve the aluminum Also let the compressor run freely for at least two whole minutes before starting to pressurize as the piston and cylinder actually needs to get up to working temperature to work best as possible and wear down as little as possible, just think of it like a regular aluminum combustion engine, it is just the same. The water separator you can get to be installed after the compressor, you can get one rather cheap online for just this model of compressor, it is actually just a cylinder that the compressed air gets through the top of and the water then flows down and slowly fills this cylinder the once in a while you just bleed out this cylinder/tank at the bottom and you can also do this with the big tanks if you have a manual valve, just hold the valve downwards and bleed out the water before usage That is pretty much it, use as good quality oil as possible and this will also help with the compression effectiveness of the compressor. I hope you then gets as happy as i do Sorry for my bad English, i don't know the proper English word for what the effect regular tap water has on aluminum as coolant, but grey white scales grows out from the dissolved aluminum and impact the lifespan and cooling performance of the compressor head greatly
Had my YH for over a year now. Followed your tips from day one and it's worked flawlessly. The tank fill check valve made things much safer & easier. Extended female foster is a must for the FX Royale/Boss/Bobcat platform! Just wanted to acknowledge the great info & say THANKS!
I don't know if you will read this. (three years later). I purchased a two-cylinder Tuxing compressor. It is a dream, Faster, quieter, And for the cost, an excellent buy. You'll never go back to a single cylinder I'd bet. I tore apart my little Tuxing single. And you were correct, regular compressor oil is not good enough for these. I have switched to Jenny Ultimate Blue.I accidentally over heated the compressor. When I tore it down it was surprisingly clean inside. The two stage/two cylinder stays cool much easier. I have no idea why, But I no longer need ice. I saw a lot of corrosion in the cooling system of my first compressor, so I added auto anti-freeze. Problem solved.
@@AirVelocitySport The TUXING seems to be working fine. I added a water separator to my single and doing that brought the cost to nearly even with the two cylinder. Which comes with a water separator. I opted to not have the auto shut off. I monitor my compressor while filling. I have read reviews where the auto shut-off did not shut the compressor down. That could be a costly mistake.
@steven schwichtenberg I'm in the market for a compressor by hill pump MK5 Broke down as I pumped up a 6.8 liter bottle from 0 psi to 4500 an kept using it pumping around 200-300 psi when it drops down id top it with the pump. An air venturi is behind on warranty I might dispute the purchase with the bank they cant just have me waiting months for warranty for this pump I NEED AIR I WANT TO SHOOT I PAID FULL PRICE, I can fix the pump my self but im not going with my money buying replacement parts just to fix my PUMP Nope I want a compressor now I will be running slugs an huffin an puffin on air pump is not the move, But once I get the dispute money which compressor do you recommend yong heng or the tuxing 2 cylinder you were talking about.
Some guy on the tuxing 2 cylinder compressor amazon reviews said this, "i have used one of these compressors before and found it to be good for the price, the problem starts when you have a warrant claim with it .The first time i used it after about 10 minutes i found it was not putting any air into the cylinder i was filling. Also the room that it was in was filling with smoke and oil was pumping out of the crankcase breather , Contacted Amazon to be told due to it being purchased from a third party seller i would have to claim direct from Tuxin. After a number of emails and phone calls , most of it time wasting wanting photos then videos. they then tell you that you need to strip it and buy the parts need yourself." With the 2 cyclinder u better hope there aint no problems with it you will have to take it apart an diagnose the issues an fix them with the spare parts thats not an appealing though for me at least, Makes me definitely want to settle for the walmart yong heng protection plan warrenty, an u best believe im runnin in there if the yong breaks if it does, Been doing research to give it the most longevity out of whatever compressor I get.
I just ordered the the same compressor from Walmart. And I wanted to THANK YOU for the pitfalls & advice on servicing this unit. It appears pretty straight forward and keep all areas that come in contact with water serviced & inspect frequently! Thank You!
I've been running my unit for 13 months now and not a single issue. I direct fill my gun only which takes right at 2 minutes every time. I would highly recommend putting the cotton filter closest to the end of your fill hose as a last safe catch and running a vertical water/oil trap mounted like they typically show on the Amazon add. You'll need to drill some holes but this setup pulls all the moisture out before the cotton filter. In one year's time, I haven't had to change that cotton filter so it's obviously working like this very well. I've been using the Royal Purple Synfilm Air Compressor Oil which from all my research seems to be one of the best there is for this application. I wouldn't recommend this unit for filling scuba tanks. That tiny little piston will have to work hard to generate all that "volume" of air. Pressure in small volumes like direct filling your gun is very gentle on the compressor and should last many, many years!
I went overboard after reading how terrible moisture is for your air gun and baught 2 filters on top of the one that came with my tuxing compressor and honestly iv never seen the moisture make it past the little stock filter, the other 2 are always completely dry. I guess California is pretty dry though.
I just made this purchase based on watching all your vids. W/confidence. W/ no auto shut off. Thank you very much. WalMart was out of stock w/ no dates of restock. Amazon vendors were running out too. Stating may never restock. I figure on account of the carona virus. They were disappearing as i contimplating. They were 16 left yesterday and only 9 left this morning from one vendor. I didnt purchase the warranty (ive 30 days to do so) because i figured, no compressors left, cant replace what aint there. If only 1 vendor has 9 left. He cant replace w/ thin air. Thank you again for all your hard work. You never answered whether or not your AVS .254 slugs are working for Sumatras tho. Mines a .251. Any reviews to be read? I read on airgun nation 1 bit where 1 guy said "he heard" they wouldnt chamber in a Sumatra. They sure work great in your rifles. Shooting shotguns shells at a 100yrd, cant beat that. Thanks again.
yes I agree with you that there is no need to buy the warranty as it is probably useless given that you might have to pay shipping and this little compressor is very heavy.yes the coronavirus is probably going to limit supply here in the US and around the world.as far as the samatra goes I would not try to use the 254 in a 251 barrel as this could be a problem. Also be careful on the oil you use in your Yong Heng compressor.I am no longer using hydraulic oil and instead using breathing air compressor oil which runs much cleaner and does not carbonize on the. I will put out a video very soon detailing the exact oil and the benefits.
@@AirVelocitySport Ok, thanks alot for replying about the slugs. HS 48g are working great but there QC kinda sucks. Out of a huge order many were deformed but AGD made it right, and a finger nail file. lol. But they are .253 and the good ones are accurate to 135yrd so far which is fine for my 10 acres. My pellet days are over Im sure the carona virus will pass. Just a matter of how bad and how long. This compressor seems popular so im sure theyll be a come back. Hopefully mine will last long enuff. China already shut down, so i couldnt buy the replacement package you showed. Im a retired automotive machinist, built many a motor so i figure i can maintain this thing reasonably well. Got my Sumatra at a estate sale for 150 bucks, 1 scratch, unknown history. But it shoots great. My 1st PCP. Again, thanks for all your hard work. Im a follower for sure. Learnt good, solid practical stuff from you. Keep up the excellent work. Youre very good at it.
@@AirVelocitySport I did order a pack of the replacement oil/water filters. They had good reviews. And a gallon of Triax ATROS Multi-VIS AW 46 Full Synthetic Hydraulic Oil, another guy recommended it after he tried the purple and said it was too thin. Lubrication is everything in any motor. So the right kind will deff add to longevity. And it can always be drained out. I run straight weights in my drag bike that not easily foundt any more and a diff one in my muscle car. From from what ive read synthetic is a top choice for these. Again thanks. Ill be looking out for your updates. Yove already saved me $. Kinda feel guilty like i owe your something. But im hyper blood like you. Lol. You the man!
going on 5 years now ..still works as good as new. I got the 220v . I plug into dryer outlet.I think I paid $303. and change ... I love it. Really been using it directly to fill my guns....so a minute or 2 at a time.. this air machine is so much faster than other pumps.
Holy crap I've followed this since the first one ..excelent . Update ..I purchased one off the back of one of these videos .. and is and has been a dream .. 1yr and going strong
very informative and detailed in its brake down of everything you have done. Even the set up you put together to get your tanks filled from the purchased add on's is well explained . thanks for taking the time to make this for all of us.
This is the kind of content that 's just worth its weight in gold, thanks SO much for sharing, this saves us a lot of headaches !! The Iorman 8mm quick disconnect seems no longer available, in its place a part by "Outdoor Guy " that costs double !
Thanks for the Wal-Mart tip! Just ordered one of these pumps with a 3yr life preserver. Kudos to you for the time and effort. Excellent job on researching and sharing information about this pump and accessories...
New to PCP. This video is pure gold! New subscriber with notifications. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video. You answered all my PCP fill questions. And you provided resources, references, URLs, etc. Free beverages for you if we ever meet. Best to you, Mark in Colorado.
Great video. I have the same problem with my well water. I do maintenance every month to take top head off inspect for lime scale deposit and clean it out then apply silicone to all seals. I change the oil also. Then just go over entire parts that may have dirt or oil in the fittings. I love this compressor its been great and well worth the money. If you check out the high end compressors that go for $1,000 they have this motor and head in them. Take off fittings first before removing socket cap screws. The rust is from condensation that's why i say do maintenance every month.
God bless u 🙏 you are a good man we need more men like u in the world thanks for educating us on what not to do when servicing these i will be purchasing this for my 3000PSI tank for my paintball gun
After watching your video I can see why springers are still popular 😂, I own PCPs and have been using the Shoebox 4500 PSI with a 90 psi assist compressor , I’ve had mine for 8 years with no issues, not even a replacement o-rings but I do lubricate the shafts frequently ! I have followed your videos on the Yong Heng compressor and purchased one as a backup , appreciate all the work you do to keep us informed !
What a great video. Thankyou for going into so much detail about setting everything up with the inline filters and valves. I'm new to pcp's, and this an invaluable beginners guide.
I agree with you on the way to use these pumps in a way that they will last longest.. 10 to 15 minutes at a time and they will go on & on & On like the energizer Bunny!
As a mechanic of 30 years professionally, I REALLY appreciate (respect) that you are "intelligent" enough to Use You EARS! I walk past the kids in the shop, and my mind snaps back, "what the Hell you doing?".
I am just getting back into PCP shooting. I go way back to when the Career 707 first came on the scene. Your in-depth update review of the Yong Heng Compressor is most insightful. Thank you.
At 25:40 of your video can you please provide the exact parts you purchased (all fitting sizes) for the "T" fitting, Bleed Valve and Reducer. I already found the Brass CGA-347 adapter and Quick Disconnect with Check Valve on Amazon; I just need the T-fitting, Bleed Valve and Reducer. Oh, and I just ordered two boxes of your AVS Air Gun Slugs /Pellets 25 Cal (.2553 Diameter) Cup Base 32.5 - 48 gr. 120 Ct for both my Avenger .25 and Seneca Aspen .25.
Thanks for the useful info........ I just bought one of these to use with my Avenger. Safety is something that needs to be emphasized above all else. I work with high pressure gasses all the time, and have for over 50 years. Any rupture or failure can be incredibly violent. I've seen the aftermath of several accidents but never had one myself. In one case many years ago I was swapping out nitrogen bottles that were ganged together to supply nitrogen for a nitrogen burst in a chemical process. These bottles were big... nearly as tall as I was. The rule I followed religiously was to NEVER move a full bottle without the cap, and do not remove the cap until the bottle is secured........The guy on the other shift was not so "religious", and had one tip over with the cap off and break the stem off below the valve. The bottle went through 2 cinder block walls, wrecked about 4 vehicles and ended up 3 blocks away. The trail of destruction was something to behold!! In another case a man delivering gas to a big shop bounced a full large oxygen bottle (cap on) down about a foot from a power lift gate to the concrete floor. The bottle landed right side up as he intended, but the shock caused a fracture, and the bottle literally exploded........ I saw some of the damage later, and was told that there was virtually nothing left of the man, and several others were injured by fragments. The energy stored in a bottle of high pressure industrial gas, air, etc is immense. Even ordinary shop air compressor tanks cause tremendous damage if they fail, and they typically only have from 120 - 180 psi......A tiny fraction of 4500!!
Good stuff, I bought the compressor called the GX PUMP CS2/3-B451. It's only air cooled most of the time during the run time I bleed it at least 2-3 times I run it for 10-12 minutes and it's been fine. I've had it about a year. I did have a choke start the other day but it didn't happen again . I will definatly purchase a filter plus I will get the same bleed set up you have on your Yong Heng compressor thank You for the video... great work on your compressor thanks again.
Thanks for all the information on this compressor which I bought a year or so ago after watching your review. I would add that while aluminum doesn't rust, it does oxidize just like iron and every other metal, especially in contact with a dissimilar metal in the presence of water (an electrolyte), which is why we have dielectric unions and sacrificial anodes, it's called galvanic corrosion. Aluminum does tend to self seal by forming an oxidized surface layer, but that is tenuous at best, especially in contact with dissimilar metals and water.
glad i found your channel. this is incredible. thought i was going to have to drop like 2k for a 45 compressor but this thing is a marvel. even if it just lasts a year and craps the bed it is still a fantastic buy.
Thanks so much for all the time and effort that you have put into these videos. Your contribution to air compression for the PCP is greatly appreciated. I'm pleased to hear that you are getting satisfactory results using the Tuxing High Pressure air filter with reusable media. Happy air gunning and thanks again.
Great video, thanks! I removed the gauge from my CGA347 fill station kit and installed a 6000 psi Tee, re-installed the gauge to the Tee and installed a 6000 psi male foster check valve to the remaining port of the Tee. Now I can fill my guns as normal AND when I need to refill the tank I can put a test plug in the fill whip and put the compressor fill whip on the male foster check valve. Now I don't ever need to remove the fill station from the tank. Hope that makes sense and helps others.
A few extra tips while filling your tanks...I add ice to my cooling tank as well as my soak tank. As we all know as you compress a gas it heats up and expands, this expansion takes up volume, the quicker you can cool the gas the more volume you can recover inside the tank. This will give you a better top off or fill if your going from 0 psi. I use 1 gallon milk jugs that I fill with water and freeze. I then add 2 jugs to my soak tank and let that sit for about 30-45 minutes. That gets the water inside the tub cold enough to absorb the heat from the air tank without warming to rapidly. For my compressor cooling, I use 2" PVC pipe 4-6" long, capped and filled with water, be sure to leave enough room for expansion. I freeze the tubes and add this to my cooling tank as fill. The colder water moving through the heads will prolong the life of the O-rings. Also be sure to run the cooling pump for about 20 minutes after the compressor is shut off.
Using antifreeze in your cooling water will help a lot in preventing all the oxidation of the aluminum head. It has inhibitors to prevent it because most engine blocks now are made from aluminum.
Thanks for your continued update videos on the life and difficulties of these compressors. Do you run it unloaded after each fill to try and pump out all the moisture? With all that corrosion it looks like they're not using the right materials for those components.
many thanks - I´ve just bought a Yong Heng Compressor - so it was very interesting und rather clear to hear your explainings - great- many thx from germany
Great video, thank you! I have shot regular guns all of my life but I am trying to research air gunning in order to take up shooting in that arena too. I'm thinking of getting the Air Venturi avenger, mainly for plinking. I had a thought regarding the calcification and mineral deposits in your cooling line....would it be beneficial to use automotive coolant/radiator fluid in a bucket as cooling fluid? It should prevent the mineral deposits and the ethylene glycol will provide a degree of lubricity. Just a thought.
On air conditioning pumps they put filter-dryers on the suction side of the pump instead of the output side. Maybe it would be a good idea to use a filter on the input suction side and on the output high pressure side. That might help to keep some dirt out of the compressor and help the piston rings to last longer.
That is the correct way to do the job. it is easier to clean up the air at atmospheric pressure than putting expensive high pressure filters at the other end. The small filter that comes with small compressors will last a lot longer if the air passing through is cleaned up before hand.
@@AirVelocitySport Actually I am a Pipefitter by trade and a tig welder so I'm looking to build my own custom air bow. I was looking for a good compressor that's how I stumbled upon your video and now I'm glad I did Thank you very much
I purchased on of these units and has been great do far. I do need to get a new gage. Ali only shows the one with pressure knob. Where can I get one or how do you search on ali?
Re the cooling fluid. I bought a 5 gallon tank of distilled water, loaded that with antifreeze/coolant as you would your car. Got a larger aquarium pump and better quality pipe, cut a flap in the top of the container to get it in with cut outs for the pipes. Silicon seal them and the flap to keep any dirt out. This now lives Under the bench and works a treat. No corrosion, no scaling.
Do not use hydraulic oil as it Diesels at the high pressure piston. Use Secco lube 500 or royal purple. Run cleaner and your compressor will las longer. I will put out a short video explaining this.
I not use any type of hydraulic oil. Royal purple or Secco Lube 500 which are a synthetic compressor oil that composition is different than hydraulic oil.
Great video as allways. I have just one little addition about the oil to be used. Using the recommended AW 46 hydraulic oil is perfectly fine and seems to be working out great for most people when only filling your gun for half a minute to a minute but even then and definatly when filling a larger tank I strongly recommend a purpose made synthetic HPA compressor oil that can cope with the 200 degree Celcius (400 Freedomheit) that the airtemperature can reach in te second stage without carbonizing and causing a carbon buildup that will cause failure in tha second stage in time. The rest of the compressor will run just fine with just about any non-detergent oil. Have done some garage testing with the AVS slugs in my Altaros regulated Hatsan Nova delivering just under 40 ft lbs and it looks very promising even at that low power. Got pretty much the same power from all four weights at speeds from about 885fps for the 22 grain slugs down to about 825fps and a hair more power from the 26 grain slugs, the next step would be long range shooting outdoors but winter has come so I'll save it for spring time. I wish a merry x-mas and a happy new year to you and yours.
Thank you for that information on the HPA compressor oil. Can ask where did you buy it? Do you have a brand you like best? Yes, I did notice alot of black residue onnthe high pressure Piston. I was out yesterday testing my slugs in the taipan mutant. It was so cold that the 26 grain were only moving at 757 fps. But still did 1.7" 10 shot group at 100 yards. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and yours! Stay warm. It was 22 degrees Fahrenheit at the range yesterday. I could not feel my fingers.
@@AirVelocitySport It was more a question of what I could get hold of for a resonable price :-) You could get a gallon of Royal purple SYNFILM® Recip. 100 for around 75 bucks, lots of people using that with good result, I couldn't but I got lucky and found Mobil rarus 827 rebranded to www.ryeoil.co.uk/shop/compressor-oil-100-fully-synthetic/ for a fraction of what Mobile charges and got me a little over 6 gallons for about the same price. :-) It is an insane amount of oil for the YH but I have other compressors and since the price was right I figured it would be nice to have a good supply in stock. :-) I did have a look at the second stage piston after a few hours of operation and there where a little soot on it but it wiped of easily using a rag. I guess the amount of oil that passes the first stage piston and rings will be less as the rings are seated and worn in.
To stop mosture entering your compressur I made from 2" pipe a desicate intake filter attached to the first stage suction inlet. This will asorb the water in the air intake to keep water out of the compressor to start with.
Good review good info perfect update and explanation. Well explained and full detailed notes. I like the way it was presented and good knowledge transfer. The best video I have ever seen. Good to listen learn and acquire the data.
I run two filters one on the outlet from the pump stand straight up the second one is on the fill line. I try to fill the tank on dry air days here in the northeast we get wicked humid days in the summer. I like to drain the scuba filter every time. As for aluminum, it corrodes use distilled water. I use 3 gallons. My pump has been beaten on trust me I have 10 PCP's and a 7l tank. Still runs great change the oil EVERY season. My auto shut off works fine. It's off but it works. I run synthetic hydraulic oil! That what DAVV recommends they build GREAT scuba compressors. I am buying one of their new dual-piston compressors next. (700.00)
Thanks for your videos. I lot of good advice. I use Royal Purple oil and change it frequently. I got tired of carrying buckets of water so I used a dual fan 12 tube CPU radiator, a low voltage pump and power supply from Amazon. I use a universal coolant recover bottle from an automotive store for a reservoir. It works. I’ll use antifreeze with a coolant additive to protect the cooling system. I have a picture.
🤣🤣🤣 Reminds me of the many times I've broken something I was trying to fix, except for the expletives I throw out after doing so. Kudos! for keeping so even keeled.😁
Thanks sir, this was a very helpful tutorial. It explains all ins and outs about safety . Surfing the web looking for my future set up , this vid made my day... So all newbies into pcp airguns ,watch this it is Cool-a-mundo .
Hi can you do a update on how the compressor is doing now for May 2021 she's a old lady now I ask because Thinking of getting one thanks for your enlighten videos. We think your videos are informative and tell us all the pros and cons you have come across while actually using the item. To many guys advertising brand new shiny things, But don't fowlow up as having used them there selves, love how you say rust but you also say how to prevent and replace now that's honest statements. Thank you, so how about it a fowlow up even if by now she's no more. From a new subscriber keep up the good work, and also the takes at the end that's a nice touch very human
Bloody good Info there Fella, > just another point = LUBE every "O" Ring you get your hands on !! I personally have this experience and had it since 1984 until now, Please remember to EMPTY the waist Water / Oil build up as often as Possible ( 10 Mins ) I`ve had the unfortunate experience of being close to to a Compressor in the UK that Exploded , because the owner forgot to check the Dump Valve ??? Everything you have attached to it will go to about a Million pieces, the guy that was on the end of it all had to go direct to hospital, > A Compressor of any Type > Is NOT a TOY
Great presentation! I’m new to pcp’s. Have watched tons of videos on practically everything about it before diving in. In fact I was looking on buying the Hatsan Hydra. But as I go deeper into educating myself about air guns, I’ve learned there is a ton of work that needs to be done just on the propellant side of it. Not to mention cost! Therefore I think I’ll go ahead and stick to my slingshot! 🤔
Thank you for a great video, I was about to order the auto shutoff, then I decided to check out your updated video. Gonna order the non auto. I just subscribed as well.
Have to say, I added an auto shut-off relay. Wired it myself and there is not better way. Start the pump and wait for it to shut off. Another modification was to hook my shop air compressor to the HPA pump using a low pressure regulator and water separator. Almost cut my fill time by half, and removed most of the water. I still use the inline filter.
I have the tuxing gold tube and I’ve added a Hill pump filter filled with desiccant on the air intake on the Yong Heng compressor. Plus using hydraulic oil and it’s actually staying clean!
This video was so helpful. I love your bleed valve check valve setup but I'm getting confused on what bleed valve and T pipe I need and the reducer. I found the check valve on Amazon. Any help was be greatly appreciated
Nice review! thanks for all the info. Wonder if running the compressor for 10 mins after your done with no load would help dry out the system and you wouldn't have the rust problem. No load shouldn't stress it right?
Hello Stephen, if I May ask your opinion on a cooling question, I have read conflicting reports as to using a more powerful water pump, with it suggested that "quicker" water flow being counterproductive as it results in LESS heat dissipation. Also a thought that I probably should have keep in my thought bubble, if Oil and water escape one would wonder why the Oil does not coat the internals and protect against rust. Preventive measures, And would adding lemon juice (rust) and vinegar or a chemical alternative (calcium) to the water not help. I gotta get out more. thank you.
Yes, a higher flow pump could help keep the high pressure side cooler but only if the temperature of the water can stay cold. So, if you use a bucket of water at a temperature around the same as the pump then more flow will not matter. But if you use a large block of ice in a 5 gallon bucket then it will most certainly help but the ice will melt faster. I have found no need for a faster pump I use a large block with the factory pump and I have no problem keeping my temperature below 47° celcius. I don't think it's actually oil that is escaping but more oil vapors and it is water that is present creating the rust. Unfortunately the oil is not enough to overcome the. I too have to get out more often. All the best!
Not sure about adding lemon juice and vinegar or any other chemical additive to the water.the water does not really touch anything except around the cylinder so it can only be harmful to the outer part of the cylinder which could eventually weaken the wall of the high pressure cylinder housing.
All of your videos are informative and very thorough. I am new to PCP air rifles and accessories. But your videos are breaking down the learning curve for me and I very much appreciate the time and effort that you put in for the rest of us to make informed decisions on what equipment would work best for us. Again, Thanks.
I’m pretty sure this channel is now a complete authority on these great little compressors, Thanks!
True that!
I got some good use of mine and it works brilliantly
A few good pointers is to use distilled water with regular coolant fluid
for aluminum motors
Else the aluminum compressor head will be pitted pretty quickly inside,
dissolve the aluminum
Also let the compressor run freely for at least two whole minutes before
starting to pressurize as the piston and cylinder actually needs to get
up to working temperature to work best as possible and wear down as
little as possible, just think of it like a regular aluminum combustion
engine, it is just the same.
The water separator you can get to be installed after the compressor,
you can get one rather cheap online for just this model of compressor,
it is actually just a cylinder that the compressed air gets through the
top of and the water then flows down and slowly fills this cylinder the
once in a while you just bleed out this cylinder/tank at the bottom and
you can also do this with the big tanks if you have a manual valve, just
hold the valve downwards and bleed out the water before usage
That is pretty much it, use as good quality oil as possible and this
will also help with the compression effectiveness of the compressor.
I hope you then gets as happy as i do
Sorry for my bad English, i don't know the proper English word for what
the effect regular tap water has on aluminum as coolant, but grey white
scales grows out from the dissolved aluminum and impact the lifespan and
cooling performance of the compressor head greatly
Both antifreeze and di water?
thank youu, your english is exellent by the way.
Demi water is suitable
I love how you enthusiastically shared your knowledge on this pcp pump. So clear and easy to understand.
Ikr! He did well!
well, googling 'pcp pump' got me to 'progressive cavity pump' which I had no idea existed as a thing.. so thanks I guess?! Heh
Had my YH for over a year now. Followed your tips from day one and it's worked flawlessly. The tank fill check valve made things much safer & easier. Extended female foster is a must for the FX Royale/Boss/Bobcat platform! Just wanted to acknowledge the great info & say THANKS!
Glad to hear his video helped. I'm still using my 2nd one for 3 years now and no issues.
Thanks for the feedback. I may one day try a double cylinder compressor. Can you recommend a good one.
"...I had smoke coming from the machine...it wasn't a big deal....".
Your forgiveness/patience CRUSH mine.
I just ordered the the same compressor from Walmart. And I wanted to THANK YOU for the pitfalls & advice on servicing this unit. It appears pretty straight forward and keep all areas that come in contact with water serviced & inspect frequently! Thank You!
Does yours say yong heng on the side?
My pellet days are over
Im sure the carona virus will pass.
YES, But with a 68L tank, I feel well-stocked to go squirrel hunting. Have fun.
Nice video. Thank God for the dive shop nearby. Dry, clean, breathable air.
Can’t believe you only have 19K subscribers? You have great content. Glad I found your channel. Greeting from Texas.
Thank you!
Very good video interesting and informative and very well presented really liked this 👍
A very thorough review, thanks a lot for sharing. This is truly valuable education for all of us pcp owners.
thanks Steve.....as someone said before you are the world expert on these....thanks again
Thank you!! in depth repair/review pointed me in the right direction I replaced the check valve o-ring and regulator valve back in business 😎
Wish they still made those...
What a great video. Thankyou for going into so much detail about setting everything up with the inline filters and valves. I'm new to pcp's, and this an invaluable beginners guide.
Just bought a PCP air rifle, I know next to zero, and wanted to buy a compressor for a reasonable price, so this was very informative. Thank you.
Most important,
Keep moisture out of your fill tank and gun cylinder.
Rust is not good.
Mine's working since 2 years without any repairs whatsoever. Used it with proper care and it's doing wonders.
Yes, I love my yong Heng compressor. I used hydraulic oil whichnis no good.
@@AirVelocitySport Been using 5w-40 engine oil with mine. Replace it on time when it starts to turn blackish.
My is 5 years old and still going I only change the compressor oil .
Very happy.
glad i found your channel. this is incredible. thought i was going to have to drop like 2k for a 45 compressor but this thing is a marvel. even if it just lasts a year and craps the bed it is still a fantastic buy.
Yes, it will last if you do not push to hard.
Great job. Lots of useful information. The blips are a funny addition. Subscribed. Thank you.
Amazing detail to the workings of this compressor, very knowledgeable, thanks for sharing.
Thnx for the great and extremely helpful video on servicing these compressors and keeping them running.
I know this is an old video but the idea with the check valve to the tank is a great idea.
This is a great video. I am new to PCP air rifle and watching this videos sure giving me more knowledge
Thanks for your continued update videos on the life and difficulties of these compressors. Do you run it unloaded after each fill to try and pump out all the moisture? With all that corrosion it looks like they're not using the right materials for those components.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this very informative video.
Good stuff Steve! hope you and your family are well!!!!!
I bought the check valve. Gosh thanks for the tip. It’s obvious for filling. No balancing.
I saved this video to favs. Too much good info to lose. Thank you!
many thanks - I´ve just bought a Yong Heng Compressor - so it was very interesting und rather clear to hear your explainings - great- many thx from germany
Get ready for the piston to crack mine just went again if anyone can’t charge gun or bottle this will be the problem 👀 great video 👍
On air conditioning pumps they put filter-dryers on the suction side of the pump instead of the output side. Maybe it would be a good idea to use a filter on the input suction side and on the output high pressure side. That might help to keep some dirt out of the compressor and help the piston rings to last longer.
Mike have you tried it?
@@caseG80 yes
That is the correct way to do the job. it is easier to clean up the air at atmospheric pressure than putting expensive high pressure filters at the other end. The small filter that comes with small compressors will last a lot longer if the air passing through is cleaned up before hand.
I am new to PCPs and this was a Great video very comprehensive. So good I just subscribed to your channel.
Love the bloopers at the end
Thank you and I hope you have fun on your pcp journey.
@@AirVelocitySport Actually I am a Pipefitter by trade and a tig welder so I'm looking to build my own custom air bow. I was looking for a good compressor that's how I stumbled upon your video and now I'm glad I did Thank you very much
Thanks for the update, love the outtakes.
I purchased on of these units and has been great do far. I do need to get a new gage. Ali only shows the one with pressure knob. Where can I get one or how do you search on ali?
Thank you very much for this extremely useful review. I'm buying one of these and I will use auto-coolant in mine as it is anti-corrosion.
Great video, I learned a lot. Do you know if AW32 oil can be used instead of AW46 ?
Do not use hydraulic oil as it Diesels at the high pressure piston. Use Secco lube 500 or royal purple. Run cleaner and your compressor will las longer. I will put out a short video explaining this.
Air Velocity Sport Thanks for the reply. Are you saying AW32 is a hydraulic oil ? I thought it was just a thinner weight AW46 oil.
Great video....great ideas....great work....solved some of my problems....you should start posting links.... but that's ok...keep up the good work
I love your vids!
You explain everything so extensive and extremely well.
Thank you! Just trying to help airguns.
@@AirVelocitySport 👍👏 I have learned many things from your videos.Thank You
Love the outtakes at the end.
To stop mosture entering your compressur I made from 2" pipe a desicate intake filter attached to the first stage suction inlet. This will asorb the water in the air intake to keep water out of the compressor to start with.
Very helpful. Lots of detail. Love the out-takes. 👍🏼
So much information, and so many tips in one video, for us techies. Thank you!
Greatest video out there info is the best .. Very good coverage of all the things that you need to know about. Thanks
Glad it helps
I just picked up two of the compressors for$120 on offer up one had a broken oil cover , aliexpress $17 and the booth work great now
Lucky fucker. Sell me one. :-) no really, what do you want for "one". Js...
Well done explaining this. Saved me a bunch of time and headache thanks a million
Right now my is over 2 years 😀😀😀👍very happy.
🤣🤣🤣 Reminds me of the many times I've broken something I was trying to fix, except for the expletives I throw out after doing so. Kudos! for keeping so even keeled.😁
Thanks sir, this was a very helpful tutorial. It explains all ins and outs about safety .

i had to change my power relay also. mine is going on 3 years now..
That's great to hear its holding up for so long
Well done Steve. Thanks for the great information. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
I am thinking all these "small no problem issues" are going to add up and surface some place
Phenomenal video... GREAT information.
Hi can you do a update on how the compressor is doing now for May 2021 she's a old lady now I ask because
Thinking of getting one thanks for your enlighten videos.
We think your videos are informative and tell us all the pros and cons you have come across while actually using the item.
To many guys advertising brand new shiny things,
But don't fowlow up as having used them there selves, love how you say rust but you also say how to prevent and replace now that's honest statements.
Thank you, so how about it a fowlow up even if by now she's no more.
From a new subscriber keep up the good work, and also the takes at the end that's a nice touch very human
Thank you! Yes, I will do another follow up as well as updates. Still running well.
Great Video, thanks for sharing this awesome information with us. I would try using distilled water instead of tap water for cooling your compressor.
Thank you! Yes, I'm heading that from many people.
Very informative and useful video. I bought the Yong heng and liked it so much bought a second one as a back up.
My dive shop started charging me 27.00 to top off my tank, my yong heng has paid for itself after 10 fills.
Have you thought about using antifreeze for aluminum engines no build up and better cooling
To my understanding there's a check valve in the YH stopping back pressure into the unit for filling tank in the auto stop version
Lmfao!! Welcome to the info search my friend. I'm in the same boat!!
Do you have a list of everything you need if you buy this compressor for doing scuba tanks like the fill whip and every thing else .
Do you have a link to the desiccant filter?
This video was so helpful. I love your bleed valve check valve setup but I'm getting confused on what bleed valve and T pipe I need and the reducer. I found the check valve on Amazon. Any help was be greatly appreciated
I wonder if using distilled water will cut down on the rust on some of the metal and build up on the aluminum parts????
Nice review! thanks for all the info. Wonder if running the compressor for 10 mins after your done with no load would help dry out the system and you wouldn't have the rust problem. No load shouldn't stress it right?
One Sub and like for your open and honest manner..
Greetings from Germany
Hello Stephen,
if I May ask your opinion on a cooling question, I have read conflicting reports as to using a more powerful water pump, with it suggested that "quicker" water flow being counterproductive as it results in LESS heat dissipation.
Also a thought that I probably should have keep in my thought bubble, if Oil and water escape one would wonder why the Oil does not coat the internals and protect against rust.
Preventive measures,
And would adding lemon juice (rust) and vinegar or a chemical alternative (calcium) to the water not help.
@@AirVelocitySport thank you.
Great vid! keep up the great work.
I am sure this has been mentioned before but as far as the motor issue, it's likely the starting capacitor. Very cheap and easy to replace.
