As a AU XR6 VCT owner from South-Africa and my baby is well cared for I can say it's has been the most reliable car I have ever seen. The car has been in the family since 1999 was my father in laws car and he gave it to me. She has never left either him or myself stranded next to the road never. I love my AU. I would love to own a Barra Falcon one day. Very sad that the plug got pulled on Aus and Falcon brand. Aussies over engineered these cars. Thank you for my Aussie car. It also has it Vin plate still in it saying made in Aus
I've owned 3 Fa;cons in my life an EA Wagon, an EL Sedan and now an AU Sedan, the EA was off roaded and once driven from Melbourne to Tamworth with no oil because the rocker gasket failed and i didnt have any money to replace the gasket or top up the oil because i lost it all at the casino (lol) but i still needed to get home so i pointed it north and sent it and it made it with no issues!, the EL i had it for 10 years and was driven extremely hard without any cooling fans (for 10 years!) no issues and now my AU went for 3 years without any kind of a service because i was just in such bad financial shape but it never complained once and racked up some big k's
Jeez , I thought I was tough on the old au , racking up the Kay’s & towing heavy regularly but I suppose I give it a fair bit of love as far as religious basic maintainence .
I had an AU that had about 5 years without servicing at all. Then we changed the oil. And that's the end of the story, it's still on road and running like it never missed a service.
You know what, I reckon the final stop wasn't even a catastrophic failure, it probably just got too hot. I wouldn't be surprised if you could let it cool down, put a new sump and oil in it, and the thing would just start up like nothing had happened. I was shaking my head for the last half of the video as the AU just refused to stop.
Hahaha!! These fords are indestructible. My mates got a 2006 BF wagon and he blew 2nd and 3rd gear in the auto about 3 years ago, he drove it from Melbourne to Sydney and back for new years eve 2 years ago he continues to drive it as a work vehicle to this day and still going strong. Great video by the way.
I have owned second hand Falcon AUs, Falcon AU2s, and still have a couple of BAs and Territories. Falcons were the sort of car where all the plastic bits fell off, but kept going. Very reliable, bullet proof, and cheap second hand.
No plastic part has ever broken on our au wagon , it’s loaded with no fu*ks given , driven daily , left in the weather 24/7 , 18 years of maintained abuse , not even a crack in the dash . B series crap is a different story though .
My BA wagon is 22 years old and its still going strong as. drives beautifully.. and the interior is perfect. It might not be quite as reliable as an AU but IMO all Falcons are good if they are looked after in the first place.@@barbraabsalom4531
Haha. Thanks for this. "I'll prove there is still no sump" - also proving there was at least a bucket of dirt in the engine. Can't believe it was still running eh. Have fun fellas. Subscribed. Cheers.
I've had AU falcon wagons for the last decade. Apart from annoying oil leaks and electrical issues these cars drive beautiful and super comfortable. Nice console and door trims. Economy is decent if driven sensible. I get 9L/100KM combined running and better on highway. Driven lots of other cars but nothing beats AU falcon dollar for dollar.
I run my 360,000 km AU on lpg, and has been running on lpg most of it’s life. It has absolutely no issues running on it and still works perfectly. Despite being a 4.0L and a heavier car i still get 500km on a single 60L lpg tank, or $10/100km. Insanely underrated car
@@tomhocking5606 that's excellent mate. Those intech straight six engines run beautiful on gas. The previous AU wagon I purchased in 2010 I had fitted with LPG at 170km and put 495km on the clock and it never missed a beat. In the end the solenoid stopped working as well as all the dash lights and I couldn't get anyone to fix it. I have a Petrol one now and it gets 9L/100km. The gas one used 13-14/100 but gas was 58c to 79c so very cheap. Hang onto it if it's going good mate. I've test driven lots of other cars but I always come back to the old AU because they drive so nicely and have a tonne of room. They are a king bed on wheels.
The intech & dedicated lpg is a beautiful marriage , the gearbox & diff ratios are well mated for torque & towing , tickford got it right . Then ford mated the b series with lpg & it’s not as good a paring , towing heavy at 100 is a pain in the ass , gearbox or final drive left the same as for a petrol Barra which has way more power & torque , so it’s constantly up & down , 3rd & top . I’d much rather tow with the lpg au2 we own , than the lpg bf3 we also own .
@@barbraabsalom4531 yep. I had a BA wagon on gas for a few months but didn't like it and it burnt an extra 1 to 2 litres gas per 100km than the AU wagon. My mum has a petrol BA. It goes well but uses substantially more petrol than my AU petrol wagon.

“One lady owned, always serviced.”
Thoroughly enjoyed that! 😂
Yamaha Jog and AU Falcon. Doesn't get any better than that. OK maybe a Postie bike.
Most Yamaha products are bloody brilliant. The majority of the best Toyota engines have Yamaha heads, I don’t think that’s a coincidence…
AU Falcon, designed for the suburban jungle of school runs and shopping centres. It's gotta be tough!!!!
HaHaHa that's so awesome. Love the video. Just found your channel. Aussies always do it better. Biggest problem with the AU is the body's they rust bad. Mate I would love to destroy a few shit boxes with you boys. Keep up the great work.
Where are you guys located? I'm a new subscriber and would like to see more videos with trashed up cars 👍
A new Hilux wouldn't beat this in my opinion lol
Hey Martin, I'm always on the move with work but this was filmed at a secret location near Cairns
@@carculture3376 Oh right, that AU is one tough car and if you filled it up with fuel it probably would've kept running... The AU's can run without oil or coolant because Ford has engineered some fail safe feature into this engine...
Look at that Falcon fly!
HAHA love it when i saw ( What i think ) IS/.was a Torana on top on it
I will pay you points on the ramp
That was some decent air time 🤣
Watched this BECAUSE its a waste of car and time lol keep up the good work!
well done champ amazing vid.
The mighty falcon 🙌 put a few through their paces in my time but never a full send like that mate 🤝
this video is legendary
The funny thing is, if you didn’t bend the frame it’s probably still fixable😂
Now that really is a good robust car!
I don't know whether to laugh or cry
It's no coincidence that the periodic symbol for gold is AU
We all go through goofy stages in life. You’ll soon look back and realise it’s a waste of time.
Some bloody good Dukes Of Hazzard stuff going on here, Cool stuff, Cheers Ya'll
Having a Torry on the au made the au way better 🤣
7:34....🔥👍
I’ve jumped a couple cars in my time but that air was massive mate!
