FUN FACT: The stapler company didn't actually make red staplers when this movie came out. Due to popular demand, it did shortly after😂😂😂
They were scarce so it was fun to find one and grab it and say that's my stapler.
I bought a red redline
@@markmac2206 👍 🎥🍿 🙂😆.... Whenever you need a good laugh after having a 💩'y day. *Did you ever know that a boardgame was made??* I didn't either until I recently went into a (Clearance type store) OLLIE'S where I live.
I had no clue AT ALL that a game was made or I would have bought one YEARS AGO. *I found the BEST LOOKING BOX with no dents or scratches and it's STILL in the bag in a SAFE PLACE 🙂😎*
@@seanpatton7406 well now i gotta find one!
Lol I bought one!
Adding your dog was the best thing you ever could have done. Not only is she beautiful and well behaved but you guys have a bond and it shows.
I lost it when they both turned and looked the same direction for a minute. Too cute.
@@BeeWhistler yes! So awesome
Fun Fact: The studio tried very hard to remove the gangster rap from this movie. But Mike Judge insisted that it was VERY integral to the plot, specifically important to show these characters. This is how they feel bad ass, this is how they feel confident, listening to music that is VASTLY different from their every day lifestlye.
This movie introduced me to geto boys and Scarface. Still listen to them all the time
Rap features heavily in Silicon Valley too, another Mike Judge creation.
Why did they wanna remove the music, the music embodies how the characters feel.
Mike Judge is actually friends with the Geto Boys. I never knew until he accompanied Willie Dee on the Rogan podcast.
@@Dennis_K09 boomers gonna boom
FUN FACT: Jennifer Aniston's boss in this is played by the creator of the movie - Mike Judge! He is also the creator/voice of Beavis and Butthead!
The boss was a fartknocker!
Don't forget King of the Hill ...
Beavis and Butt-Head is my favorite cartoon of all time.
@@JamesASharp They rule!
@@barowt King of the Hill is getting a reboot with most of the same voice actors. :)
I can tell you as someone who works in an office, this movie will always be accurate af
"Let me ask you something. When you come in on Monday and you're not feeling real well, does anyone ever say to you, "Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays?"
"No. No, man. Shit, no, man. I believe you'd get your ass kicked sayin' something like that, man."
this is 100% facts. 20 + years in that environment. so many inside jokes.
The office I work in was renovated over the pandemic. It STILL looks like that. It's Corporate Standard in the US and they just don't know how to break free from it.
I work in healthcare, outpatient. It's like that for us, too. But I did used to work in the call center of a mortgage company, and it was exactly like this.
I worked in a cube for a couple years, and this is by far the most accurate portrayal of the office workplace I have ever seen.
19:30 One thing that other comments for this clip point out is that the HR guys immediately lean in as soon as they hear he has 8 bosses. Peter just handed them basically a list of redundancies they could cut immediately with no regrets.
The scene with Peter and the Bobs is actually REALLY well written. On the surface it appears that Peter is just blowing them off and its funny that the Bobs are buying it, but he's actually giving them all the information they're looking for in terms of how to downsize the company.
Peter comes in late and does nothing for an entire hour, which means his eight bosses aren't actively managing his productivity.
And when something goes wrong, he hears from all of them, which means managerial bloat to begin with AND those eight bosses are not communicating or finding other things to do than address the same problem. So about seven 6 figure salaries gone right there.
And Peter makes it clear the employees have no real motivation or care in the company, because they get no bonuses for being productive.
So in one brief conversation, Peter swapped the fortunes of the entire company in favor of the neglected and overworked drones and cut at least a million dollars worth of fat from the company.
Genius.
Except for one problem: in reality, he would be marked as lazy and someone to watch, and only the most costly things on that list of problems would be dealt with. And the seven bosses wouldn't be fired, but either demoted or transferred to somewhere else. I currently work in this kind of office environment and see it happen every single day.
@@tricitymorte1 My experience has been the opposite. When there are cuts any redundant management positions are at the top of the list and I've seen quite a number of Managers and Directors get the boot and their positions consolidated.
@WarlordShogun Exactly. That just happened with the hospital system I work for. Huge merger, too many bosses. Got rid of them, and now we save $30Mil approx.
@tricitymorte1 meh, our lazy people are watched being lazy and nothing is done.
This is a classic for anyone who works in an office. I still love it 20 years later.
This movie perfectly captures how working in an office environment is like. also, PUPPERS! 0:52 y’all both look away and back at the same time! lmao
Lookin for a toddler to eat
@Ericbyo I see one.
Squirrel!!
Sounds like a case of the Munnnn-days!
@@ericbyo9472 The dog or the man? I think the man is too nice to eat toddlers and the dog doesn't look one bit meaner.
One thing you will NOT forget is Milton is a dangerous dangerous man 😂
Only when pushed too far. If people would just be nice to him, like Peter tries to be, everything goes well 😅
I love how Bella is walking around the couch like a jungle gym. She's so cute 😍
Bella is adorable!! So glad you are back and watching a CLASSIC! Add Howls Moving Castle to your list!
Michael Bolton's best song was the collaboration with Lonely Island (Jack Sparrow)
"Now back to the good part!"
Literally one of the greatest movies ever made! There are so many great characters in this! Also Diedrich Baker is the actor playing his neighbor. He has some of the best small comedy roles ever! He was fucking hilarious in Napoleon Dynamite as Rex Kwon doe
thats for real the first time I put that together, the strength of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma, the wisdom of a man lol
This movie was hilarious when i was a teenager. Its still funny now, but with over 10 years of adult office work under my belt, ill just say that it hits a little too close to home now with this movie
The director of this movie is the voice of Beavis and Butthead and creator of King Of The Hill. He plays Jennifer Aniston's boss in this. (Mike Judge).
He also is the creator of “Silicon Valley”.
@@JohnnyUtah15Yes! Major brain slip.
@@smittybenzo4693 👍 it’s cool dude 🍻
Idiocracy is my favorite of his
Holy shit, had no idea that was Mike judge
Office Space and Tombstone were THE two movies my late best friend insisted I needed to watch. I gave both a chance after he passed. He was right!!!
Your friend had great taste. RIP
@@goodday2139 Much appreciated.
The face that Lawrence makes after the "two chicks at the same time man" comment is the funniest thing ever filmed 😆😆
This movie changed my life when it came out. I was uptight and trying too hard for no reward, then I learned to let go. If you hate your job you're in the wrong field. I began in telemarketing which was a cubicle farm with super high turnover but I excelled until I burned out. I've been a porn shop janitor, I've made crackers and cookies at the factory that makes them for Wal Mart. For the last 16 years I've been a driver by profession. I stick mainly with pizza delivery but I also was an on call super sub for a newspaper (I became their go-to guy), I drove a cab and during the pandemic was also the cab mechanic. I'm back delivering pizza because it's driving with music at sunset, collecting money. It's important to love what you do.
Way to carve out your own little slice of paradise friend!
A porn shop janitor sounds absolutely disgusting
I second that. I’ve also held several vastly different jobs. Some I loved an some I hated. And one of the ones I loved was working for Papa John’s as a driver. Just me, my car, and my tunes carving up the roads an gettin paid. And you never feel like your being worked the whole shift.
Stephen Root (Milton) is one of the all-time great character actors. And how can you not love him as the voice of Bill Dauterive on King of the Hill? (Another Mike Judge creation.)
He can be a chameleon when he wants.
@@LordVolkov his role on two seasons of True Blood was the most surprising, considering the characters he usually plays. But he was great, as usual.
Diedrich Bader as Lawrence might be the unsung hero of this movie. Diedrich is always solid in his roles.
TGIFridays used to require their waiters and waitresses to decorate their uniforms with "Flair". The executive who created the concept saw office space on cable and rescinded the corporate policy the very next workday.
I'm a Cube Dwelling IT Worker....and let me tell you, the "TPS Cover Sheet" gag is 100% Accurate. You do one thing wrong, and you'll have a dozen different levels of management asking you about it, and you'll get a dozen "reminder" E-mails about it.
You need to get out. Nothing worse than a life sucking job. I been there. I got out.
i love how your dog is in heaven the entire time. just living it up with tummy rubs in the background. i love it.
I've been a programmer since the late 90s when this came out and I've worked for a variety of companies and a few silicon valley startups, and this is one of the most accurate portrayals of what it's like to work in a cubicle, lol.
if you liked this movie you should check out the movie Waiting. kinda the same comedy style but all about restaurant life. plus has a great cast: Ryan Reynolds, Justin Long, Louis Guzman, Anna Faris etc.
I think he'd love that one 👍
That movie is super slept on
Oh yeah. Leo would get a kick out of Waiting!
That's such a 2000's cast lol
Missed by most reactors. The door that Peter puts the check under is open, all he had to do is open it. Milton just opens the door to Lumbergh's office.
Did you see 'Napoleon Dynamite'? HE played the big dude that came to town to train Kip to do karate (dressed in red, white & blue)...
Break the wrist walk away
Break the wrist walk away
Fun fact:Tchotchke's is a poke at the old TGIFriday's uniform and decor. This movie singlehandedly made TGIFriday's change their business model.
Puppyyyyy! I love pit bulls. They can be scary because they're so buff looking, but they're usually friendly little goofballs.
I loved your reaction when Peter was trying to duck out of work early. You looked like you were sneaking out right alongside him! 😂
You will forever remember the line "two chicks at the same time, man." and quote it often. It's been decades since I watched this movie, but I laugh every time I hear someone reference that scene.
Dietrich Bader is great at a memorable cameo.
Best movie ever! I love how that corporate statue in front of the Initech building is a square peg in a round hole, and it also looks like someone flipping the bird. Foreshadowing!
I love that precious fur baby! I have a pityie mixed with a Plott hound. Her name is Rootie. She is such a good dog! I work for my local SPCA Thrift store and every penny we make goes to the shelter. We are a non kill shelter. I'm so happy for you and that sweet girl!
Bless you and all owners who are smart enough to understand there is nothing inherently wrong or dangerous about any of the 5 different breeds commonly called a "pit bull".
They are amazing and wonderful dogs, extremely loyal and cuddly and smart, full of energy. They require a firm owner however, as with any kind of sizeable dog. It all comes down to the owner: if you can't put in the time and energy and dedication required to properly socialize and train the dog, don't get it!
Owners like you are the good in the world :) and anyone who adopts and treats their baby well
@@KrazzeeKane thank you my friend! I agree completely. The hardest part is seeing all these amazing pets and not being able to take them all home. But we do take great efforts to socialize all of our pets. We even have volunteers that will come play with them, take them for walks and work with them on proper leash behavior, we even had our local elementary schools have their students come read to the cats so it's a win win for everyone.
I think this was the 2nd movie I reacted to! I can't believe it was missing from my life for so long.
I worked in corporate America for my whole career. At one job we had this movie on DVD and whenever anyone had a horrible day they would take the movie home that night to watch, then put it on their shelf until the next person took it home. This movie is so accurate. 😎😜
I use to work in an office, this movie was DEAD ON! Love this movie! I'm already subscribed but if i hadn't, puppy would have clinched it!
At 0:45 when Mr. video and his dog turn to look at the door at the same time is the most adorable thing I’ve seen all day.
Awwww you're dog is too cute! You said you don't have many friends but she'll be the best friend you'll have.
She's precious.
OMG this is one of my all time favorite movies!! After working in a cubicle and having many fights with the printer/fax machine I related to this movie way too much😂
P.S. Don't mess with my man's stapler🤣
@olive b 👍 Also 🙂....
@@seanpatton7406 No I never knew there was a board game. I know Ollie's they have some really cool stuff sometimes. Hold on to that game maybe it'll be worth a little something one day🤑
This movie is such a perfect time capsule of the corporate world in the 90s
I worked in an office like this from the mid 90's to the mid 2000's and this film nails the frustration and bullshit you have to deal with.
There are some Office Space sketches with the actual Michael Bolton here on RUclips that are pretty funny.
He’s actually got a great sense of humor about the whole running joke.
I’m glad to see you back at it, Leo! Mr. Video reviews are the shit
Nice Doggie! GREAT of you to get a dog! Don't forget to play with her! I see in her eyes that she can talk!
One of the interviewers, the one with the moustache, was in a popular sitcom: Scrubs. It's about a group of interns learning to be doctors in a hospital. Hilarity ensues.
Such an underrated show and much funnier than most of the drivel we have now.
Great reaction! Also shoutout to Gary Cole who played the evil Bill Lumbergh. He was also in Pineapple Express as the bad guy Seth Rogen is trying to serve.
This is one of the most timeless movies of all time. All Time!
I've worked in a cubicle for the past 15 years. This movie is as real as it gets.
I'm so glad that your main channel is monetized again. Keep on grinding bro! And great reaction to this classic comedy! 👍🏿
Appreciate it bro
Lombard stroking it while you drinking a cup of coffee is a whole mood!
Mike Judge dropped a bunch nods to my hometown of Houston in this movie. Tom’s lawyer was Robert Newhouse who was a start running back for the University of Houston. Also the soundtrack was full of Geto Boyz jams. They are from Houston. Also, Kung Fu used to come on channel 39, Houston’s local UHF channel.
Another fun fact, Joanna’s boss at Chotski’s was Mike Judge.
Leo would do the same as Lawrence: “Two chicks at the same time.” 😂😂😂
This movie explains my life and why it will always be a classic. I have been that angry with photocopiers, so that was epic! 😂
Have worked in this environment (call centers) since 2000, and lived in Austin for over 18 years, this movies is pretty accurate.
Even worked with people just like the supporting cast
Prior to this film being released, the actor who played Lumberg and the guy who played the younger of the two Bobs were often swat team or military roles in big name tv shows and movies. The guy who played Lumberg has since become the voice of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law and the younger Bob became a star of Scrubs. This was their break into comedic acting.
Gary Cole has some hilarious comedic roles 👍
Gary Cole did a perfect, spot on Mike Brady in the Brady Bunch movies, even had the voice
One of my friends took a phone from one of our office jobs & we recreated the printer scene with that phone. One of the best moments of my life. I hated that job.
"I believe you have my stapler....I going to set the building on fire"🔥
Milton seems to be the only one who is actually doing a decent amount of work.
"That's me in traffic" Me too!
Swingline didn't make a red stapler before this movie. The one in the movie is a prop. After the movie Swingline started making them in red.
The hilarious part of this whole movie is it was born out of a comic strip about the crazy guy with the red stapler!🤣 (And I absolutely heard Bella chatting!)
I knew you'd love this!
"Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays!' Did you put the TPS report on it? You need to do that & check your memos mmmkay?!
Gives me so much 90s nostalgia feels like I’m going to spontaneously combust, love this movie
I worked in air freight for 15 years, with a major airline, and I was burned-out to the point I didn't care if I got fired.
The last year I worked there (ironically, 1999), they offered buyouts and early retirements to everybody un the USA, so I ended up getting a years' pay to leave. Best decision I ever made! When I retire, I still get my flight menefits and my pension.
Livingston's character was soooooooo me, the last year I was there. I can really identify with him in this.
Back in the 90's, I too was a young, aggressive tech worker and I can attest everything about this movie is SPOT ON!!!!
That Dog is too precious. Plus this movie is an all-time great, with great characters and I definitely had the same existential crisis as Peter.
Quite possibly my favorite rated R comedy along with Step Brothers
This movie is just so spot on with an office environment and working in one.
This movie never gets old. I still have this on VHS. Lol
Milton is one of my favorite characters. i always find it funny how after the second time he mutters "i could burn the building" you just know hes actually going to do it lmao
I have an office job and this movie kills me every time. I have definitely imagined beating the shit out of printers before 😂
Your reaction to all the TPS stuff is hilarious. If you ever worked in an office this joke gets thrown around a lot.
I went on a date once with a Jennifer Aniston double. She did work in movies with her. It was crazy. She really DID look just like her.
The best thing about Lawrence is that you always forget he's in the movie RIGHT before he shows up again. That way you never expect him.
One of my absolute favourite movies of all time, along with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. ❤❤❤
One of my favorite movies of all time. Glad you reacted to it!
Oh, I didn't know you got a dog! She's gorgeous! I have a Bella too.
Ok I seriously have to stop, but you were ME nearly every time I've seen this cuz I catch new hilarious things every.single.time!🤣🤣
Ok, so my best friend, who works in an office, was the one who showed me this movie and a few years later I found an Office Space kit-complete with a piece of flair (that's says the thing about Mondays) an InoTech Mug, a mini red Stapler, a Jump To A Conclusion Mat, & a Smite button that when you hit it, it's a line from the Movie! Best gift I've ever found for someone!🤣 Thanks doll... I needed that more then you could know, my love! 😘
Beautiful dog. Love all the success you have had over the years. Keep it up Mr. Video. We love you exactly the way you are. ❤
Im so happy you did this one! One of my all time favorites. Im blazing to this one because youre bringing that heeeat!
Brother, the conversations my sister's husky and l... well, that fills a whole different book.
“He should be able to see the radio waves.” 🤣🤣🤣
I got my red Swingline loaded up, and my TPS report's cover page is LIT!
Let's do this!
I have a female Bully and she is super talkative too. I know what you mean about having entire conversations with your dog. Mine likes to argue with me. lol PS Office Space is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Probably my favorite comedy next to Water Boy.
THAT DOG….IS FANTASTIC!
Man one of the best reactions to one of the funniest movies ever Brotha. You have got to watch Extract soon. Also written by Mike Judge, it's like an unofficial sequel about factory workers instead of office workers with Jason Bateman and Mila Kunis
Fun fact -- TPS in "TPS reports" stands for "this place sucks."
Your pittie is adorable, we love a happy doggy daddy
My husband grew up in another country and he moved to the US when we married in 2001 and we lived in Dallas, where this movie was filmed. We watched this movie together shortly after it came out and I thought it was funny, but he didn’t really “get it” until he started working there (he worked in advertising). It didn’t take long before his life became THIS movie. He drove to work on that same freeway in an Eagle Vision (same car that the guy drove) and to top it off, he actually worked with the woman who played the coworker who said “Do you have a case of the Mondays?” It’s one of our favorite movies. Mike Judge perfectly captured exactly what living in Texas and working in an office was like.
It's her answering the phone over and over and over and over that sticks in my head 😅 I hope she didn't do that IRL lol
Good to see you back and doing what you love. Your reactions are a highlight.
Mr. V. it is SO GOOD to see you doing well! With your house and your puppy and just looking so generally happy!
I love you Leo. My parents love you. My plug loves you. WE ALL LOVE SUM MR.VIDEO!!!!!
We didn't need to know about your erotic toys' feelings but good on you none the less
Man, just yesterday I thought about you and was wondering what was happening? Clearly my thoughts summoned you like a Reaction Genie from your bong, and here you are...Great to see you again, Leo!
Yo!!! When yall looked out at the same time.. dog owners back me up... funny sheet right there
office space definitely resonates with those of us who have spent a huge chunk of our lives in cubicles; it came out when i was in middle school and i really loved it then, but i didn't truly appreciate it until i was an adult with an office job. despite it being set in 1998/1999, it's still just as relevant today.
I believe the character Milton started as a Saturday Night Live cartoon sketch back when they did those
Short list of all-time favorite movies. This inspired the quiet quitting movement.
I worked office jobs for years, and I can confidently say that I have worked with every single one of these people. 😂
Every time I watch this movie, I spend the next couple of weeks with the album "The Diary" by Scarface in heavy rotation.
Underrated movie. I grew up in that area which makes it more nostalgic ❤
Which part? Dallas or Austin?
