Imagine if typing "raphael" into the game put you in a completely white room and a recording of the narrator saying "stanley" on a loop.
Jack Klöver 5:20
Jack Klöver 5:22
It does XD
THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN! =D
The Padded Room Ending. hahah
Note to self: NEVER piss-off the dev team.
This game looks so amazing.
this is probably one of the single greatest trailers for a game ive ever seen.
Duty Calls..... Check that one out.
I think this is one of the single greatest trailers for a game I have ever seen too.
The Narrator saying "Stanley" repeatedly is now my ringtone
Is your name Stanley?
*''I had no free will in the game''*
Not like that was the point of the game of anything
You do have free will
There are many cases where what the player did was not planned from the start:
The Escape Pod Ending
The Confusion Ending
The Not Real Stanley Ending
@@shtuffs escuse me sir, sarcasim
@@-AlexMakesThings-
Wait how did I not notice the sarcasm I guess I was up at 3 A.M. or something when I wrote that
@@shtuffs oh thats fine, no hate meh fam
@@shtuffs Actually, I don't think it was supposed to be sarcasm. The point of the game is that you have no real free will, even when you think you have "outsmarted the game". Think of what the female narrator says in the museum ending: "When every path you can walk has been laid out for you in advance, death becomes meaningless, making life the same." Or what the Narrator says in the apartment ending: "In this reality he can be nothing but an observer." Sure, you have choice over which ending you go for, but in the end it's all predetermined. Every choice you make just leads to another scripted voiceline. That's not free choice.
Nine years later and this is still comedy gold
“This place has shoes! I love shoes! Oh. My. God. Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! Shopping!”
Thanks for the beautiful and insightful review, woman 😊
"Seriously, I'm going to make next Tuesday my bitch."
God, this is wonderful.
What? Who said that and where?
"swallowing a whole tire iron"
@@adamlapidus4420 probably the list of emotions. Sorry you received your answer all these years later
It's tuesday today too. Crazy
I love the stab at anti-piracy measures that more often than not punish the players who bought it legitimately rather than the people who pirated it who can just crack the game to get around them. XD
I always knew cheesecake was an emotion!
whats this feeling I feel? it feels like...cheesecake...yup its cheesecake!
I like how being dead is an emotion
Oh my god the "they cant do anything" at 1:21 absolutely killed me
I can't do anything, I'm in a fecqing wheelchair
Little did they know
Can i say that the dubber of the narrator is simply one of the best dubber i've ever heard? He is amazing XD
The narator is also amazing in elnglish
MisterElle Pretty sure this is actually Kevan Brighting.
Did Raphael just... do whatever the narrator said? Never took the door on the right? Never went downstairs instead of up? Cause his complaints make more sense if that's the case.
6 years and no reply? Well, no time like the present!
Hope you're doing well, wherever you are. ^^
I am really late to the party of the Stanley Parable, but I should say it - I fricking love this game. The people behind it are so creative and inspiring, I was both laughing and crying at the Narrator's words, and the story is just so simple, yet every step that I took as Stanley was incredible. Thanks for making this game.
You're not Stanley, Stanley is Stanley and you are you *head explosions*
Did you get the broom closet ending? The broom closet ending was my favorite!!!
@@yol_n your friends find this very concerning
My name is Raphael. I wish I was kidding
@@ninjaskillz4608You must be very logical and emotional. Thank you for your creative input!
At the list I paused sometimes until I found."are you really pausing the video to read the whole list?" XD
+Cakepiggy2004 the last one was: next week I'm going to make tuesday my btch. space at the right time.
Why?
I remember someone made a mod based on this trailer. In retrospect, it's probably the best Liminal Space/Backrooms game entirely by accident.
2:47 trying to explain the plot to someone watching you halfway into the game
And now, six years later, I'd kind of love a game like this. One that's just an extended pisstake on open-world games ala Ubisoft or EA.
I would too, but I think it would take a REALLY advanced AI to actually pull this off, since there's no way to program "the ability to do literally everything" into a game without AI-generated content.
@@ethanlivemere1162 the ability to do literally anything except jump
I heard this game called sentient I think its the same idea as Raphael parable...
@@ethanlivemere1162 One game pulled it off, Scribblenauts. Just that except 3D with a huge map.
Only the best of the best would even consider doing this. This trailer isn't showcasing the game, but the narrator. And that is much, much more important.
Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley. Stanley...

3:10 Having a mustache..... IS THAT EVEN AN EMOTION?
it is i can confirm
Having a wimpy one sure is...
Believe me, it is.
10 years later, and while I loved Ultra Deluxe and think it's one of the funniest games I've played, I still think this is the single funniest bit this team has ever produced. It'd be awesome if they did some kind of RUclips content like this or something. Idk. I just need more Stanley Parable in my life.
This trailer has to be the best clap back a game has EVER did.
A logic and emotion slider, but not one for field of view...
Is that you, TB?

Echoes Act 3 Terameter*
Goddamnit Raphael was so damn close to understanding the whole point of the game and it just when WHOOSH right over his head 🙄🙄🙄
I like to pretend that Raphael is partially responsible for the existence of the skip button ending and epilogue, he wanted a more emotional game so the devs commited murder on all positive feelings
I could see that being the start. The reviews were actual reviews based on the original game, just changed the names. Man, that Skip Button ending made me cry at one point.
I wonder if the Brazilian economy could actually support a Pachinko factory
I'm looking forward to Raphael's 2nd email and the narrator's 2nd response.
"Hey, it's me Raphael again,
I played the deluxe version of your game. It looks like you didn't listen to my insightful commentary which I thought you did when I said 'your game is on a good path I think', so I'm gonna donate a few more of my intellectual and emotional high class and extremely valuable insight that I normally only give to companies I am on a contract with but in your case I'm gonna make an exception because I feel sorry for you so this one is totally for free...
...bla bla bla bla bla...
Good luck and best regards
-Raphael
"
The funny thing is, they asked Raphael if they could use his quotes and he said yes! So really, he should have seen this coming!
"This is the story of a love samurai named Stanley in this new version you play the ghost of a dream of a memory of a cyborg warrior trying find his dead wife inside a poem."
I knew that they weren't gonna let him get away with that sexist comment! You know you're good when you respond to a critic and make the critic look like an ass instead of yourself, because that almost never happens.

Someone by the name of Raphael currently finds himself with broken legs, simply art.
I transcribed Raphael's email, here it comes:
"I just played your game, and I'd like to say it was the most annoying thing I ever played.
It had its cool moments but overall the experience was only of annoyance.
The problem is;
that it does not touch the heart of people.
It's a very emotionless game.
Did you ask any girls to try out your game?
I ask because they are blissfully less logical than us guys.
I am very logical myself, but also very emotional,
so, it was easy for me to find the game annoying.
What happened is that your game frustrated me.
I felt like I was being taken into someone else's hallways, doors and plans,
to deliver me an experience that didn't touch me.
AND WORST OF ALL;
I had absolutely no free will in the game, no way to change anything,
no impact, no power, I accomplished nothing.
People play games because of what they can do inside them,
and your game is very good at letting them know they can't do anything.
Other things I didn't like, were the amount of Narrator dialogue too much,
and that 'Stanley' is repeated all the time by the Narrator.
Overall...
Your game is on a good path! I think.
Good luck with it and best regards,
- Raphael"
* _Are you really pausing the video to read this entire list?_
Yes Yes I Am
JOAF Nonesense why?

Of for the love of... Did Raphael even PLAY the game? YOU HAVE TONS OF IMPACT ON THE PLOT.
I think the raphael thing in the console is supposed to make fun of this. Hence why the Narrator is always saying Stanley.
"This place has shoes! I love shoes! Oh. My. God. Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! Shopping!" - A Woman
We need this game
You know you could've just watched it on the official Stanley parable channel and I want them to release the actual story the narrator talked about instead of just a slightly different version
Clive Owen is truly my favourite emotion
*claps slowly*
Has anyone decoded the page of numbers on the clipboard @5:41 ?
edit: turns out it is ascii of the email letter read by the Narrator.
I agree with the emotions, I feel very up and besides the dumpster today :)
Gotta play this
"this game has shoes! I love shoes! Oh my god! Shopping shopping shopping!"
Omg
I love you, guys

You can _hear_ the beard-hairs on Raphael's neck.

Hah! That was awesome! I felt like this game was living ;)
The dislikes are Raphael's alts
Here 10 years later
OK, so I found out how to restore most of the UI back to how it was in the early builds, WITHOUT ruining my copy of TSPD or Portal 2
I got my hands on Portal 2 SFM.
That was amazing! XD
this trailer is still glorious i love how they completely roast this dudes sh1t review.
Dude, I Love This Trailer... (I Wonder What Rapheal Had To Say About This)
I guess that explains the raphael command in the console. (i only listened to the mail before writing this.)
Challenge accepted
Someone needs to email the narrator and say "Hi, I would like to say that your second game was VERY VERY annoying. While it was cool in some moments, the fact that it has too many shoes in it makes the game very annoying."
Win. Game is fantastic.
So sick...
True Genius!
"Other things I didn't like were the amount of narrator dialouge too much, and that 'Stanley' is repeated all the time by the narrator."
No further comment.
The narrator Before Cookie 9 destroyed his ability to take criticism.
Alright but the fact that one of the creators would move on to make one of the most emotionally moving games OF ALL TIME, is fucking amazing
Raphael made 12 RUclips accounts.

Bravo! ^^
You could go through the right OR left door, you could go through the escape passage you could press on (but the building will explode)

Who wishes for this “game” to be a reality?
Why does his impression of Raphael sound like that annoying NPC in Fable on the docks?
I wonder where is Raphael now

Is this an actual sequel?
The Raphael Parable is a community made mod now
First time watching this trailer and, while I am a girl, what Raphael implied is just so silly. Methinks he didn't get the point. Also listened to an interview recently and apparently they asked Raphael if they could use his quotes.... And Raphael said yes! He should have seen this coming!😂
What did you think of the shoes they added
Why is 2:48 just the plot of cyberpunk
lol wait WHAT?! This video is so confusing lol
Ever heard of the game "The Stanley Parable"? Trust me on this one, this game is not confusing at all, it makes prefect sense.
raphael. just play the beginners guide
Me feels bad at grammar
What if this rapahel person was real?
I think he was, this was a mod of hl2 before becoming a game, and people like raphael are very common in the pc community
Oh he very much was! I heard a review from Kevan Brightings who voices the narrator. And he said that they asked Raphael if they could use his quotes and he said yes! No idea what he was thinking as he should have seen this coming.
I Love this part 5:21
Raphael what a long review.....
Wow...talk about missing the point entirely...
