RiddleMe98 she did this on Broadway in the 90s. between then and when this occurred she did other productions. you can't expect her to have rent memorized 8+ years later with just 2 days of rehearsal. this was meant to just be a fun concert for the fans. a few lines here and there don't matter
Actually if your ever in New York City they have a copy of Rent 1996 opening night and the 2006 10 year anniversary reunion on tape available to ‘researchers.’ You are allowed to watch it for ‘research purposes’ You can just say you have a paper or project on it and you think it will help to watch it 🙃 I had a friend do it

You can't beat this cast! Every time I watch any performance of La Vie Boheme with a different cast, it always sounds like something is missing especially when people have solo parts, but the voices of each member of this cast fills up the entire room!
I think the whole cast was great, but Anthony Rapp (Mark) and Wilson Jemaine Heredia (Angel) so perfectly embodied their characters, you’d think they stepped off the Broadway stage just that week, not ten years ago. With Mark’s nerdy, jerky dance moves and Angel’s prowling around the table and energetic and precise dancing, it’s like they both have the characters movements engrained into them.
Don't get me wrong the last performance of RENT is really great, I love how it was released in dvd but GOD! I wish this reunion in dvd more than the last one. This reunion is heaven! Thanks for put it in here.
I'm assuming that Benny's dead Akita is the one that Angel killed...i'm only deducing that by the way that Collins suddenly tugs her to sit down and glares haha xxx
oh wow that's awesome :) i've only watched the movie version and he doesn't say that in the film which is a shame coz it sounds like a good line :) there are so many good lines in the play which were cut from the film xxx
Imma say it. I've seen the 1996 performance. This 10 year concert is the best performance of Rent and these songs. Yes Idina did miss 1 part but who cares. Acting wise and vocally everyone was on point.
Hannah Yeagley You understand that this is a reunion of the 1st cast of rent ever. Before the movie there was this group of people on a stage 8 times a week putting on rent. Like the movie came later

This is the original cast for the Broadway lol it's their tenth reunion so they are playing with it lol most of the original cast was in the movie but two.
At the Nederlander Theater. They aren't in costumes because it was a special 10 year anniversary performance by the original cast members. They rehearsed for 2 days and put on a semi-staged version of the show.

This song truly isn't the same without the OBC. The duets during the base part of the song never work right live except with this group.

It is! In some versions, Collins tells Benny 'You know you're paying the funeral for the person who killed your dog?' and Benny confirms he knew.
