16:57 For some reason, when I go to choose the variable I want from the FSM, the only options in the list are "None" or to choose a global variable. Not sure what the issue is. EDIT: Tested with some other FSMs and on my install at least, the only time the drop down shows only variables in the current FSM and globals, making it essentially useless. Is this a bug in the current release of Playmaker?
Do you mean on the 'get fsm int' action? Sometimes, when you get a variable, from another FSM, it doesn't always auto populate when you click the '...', and you just have to hand type the name of the variable.
@@PhilipHerlitz Shit you mentioned that in the video didn't you? Lol I've been looking at multiple videos tryin to Frankenstein a character controller and things keep slipping haha. I'll give it a shot and report back.
thanks for this tutorial! it's rly helpful, but i still have one issue. When i search *anything* in the ecosystem browser i always get this error: "Json parsing error Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Do you know what i could have done wrong? (using unity 2021.1.13f1) thanks in advance!
Playmaker seems to have had a huge increase in users, and the Huttong Games folks github link can't support the number of calls to the 'github repository'. In the meantime, until they find a better solution, you can look up the actions available in ecosystem here github.com/PlayMakerEcosystem
In the PlayMaker editor window, when you have a gameobject highlighted in the hierarchy, you can right-click to add FSM. It then adds the FSM (playmaker script) to the gameobject. You can see this in the inspector on the gameobject as well. Did this answer your question?
@@PhilipHerlitz yes. It's just every Tutorial I watch my script never works. Am trying to make my character move like player movement. I just can't make my character move even with a Tutorial.
@@animalplushworld100 A lot of tutorials are using "Controller Move" or "Controller Simple Move" actions to get the character to move. You need to add the character controller component to your gameobject (in the inspector).
