The Su-17 M2 is a plane that doesn't exactly work as a frontline fighter.
But by playing like a scumbag you can be pretty effective as a support/disruptor
The swing wing system is a gimmick but it's nice to have I guess?

Honestly such an underrated play style, I play exactly like this when in the Harriers. Get behind everyone and use up the AAMs then RTB. Simplest and easiest kills

Ah yeah I was in the match at 7:40 yeah you reversed that guy and then you killed his whole team and then everyone in the game chat said you were awesome.
And everyone clapped
So came back after a year, I spaded Su-17 about two or three months ago, when it is sitting at 11.0, and I actually feels like it's quite good at dogfighting. What I did is swept the wings out and start to do vertical loop with everyone. Most of the time they will just lose all their speed, yet I can still manage to have 600-800 km/h at the top of the vertical loop. I can beat F-5C, F-4s and Mig-21, didn't remember every jet I beat, but I'm very confident at it.

Missiles in WT are pretty unrealistic. Missiles are normally 2 Stage. So you have a 5 seond booster to accelerate and get the max G pull out of the thing for short range and after that a 10+ sec sustainer Kicks hin, only meant to hold the missiles speed giving it much more range but it obviously isnt as maveuverable. But that might break the gmae if you get 10km missile kills

Dunno about the 17, but you can safely belly land the SU-7 (7B, 7BKL). It's faster than doing it the usual way and it does not damage the airframe. (credits to [WASHD]_NST_, I saw him doing it on his stream).

I actually land with no landing gear , just with the air brake , and if i go slow enough i can get no damage

I doubt he would, cuz the yak 38 is a boat (it cannot turn at all) and has a only 1 play style which is get on people's rear profile and shoot the r60 within 1.5 to 1.8km. Jengar has done a good video about it already here: ruclips.net/video/h_5uuVTYbjk/видео.html . Its a good video that made me buy the plane.

Yeah I've seen 4-man squads in this thing using the same tactics and they simply annihilate entire NATO teams. With the tier of speed and utility this thing has, it should NOT be given an airspawn

I love this jet but I can see why it would be a huge problem if it had flares and it could Out dogfight and out run almost anything which would make it a jack of all trades and a meta fire starter which in gaijin eyes is bad and everyone would try to fly it

On a 1 v 1 you can out dogfight a mirage in the Su-17 at low speeds with wings fully extended
Specific conditions have to be met which are too unlikely considering the dynamic of air rb
by the time you got your wings extended hes already riding your ass
if he has missiles it doesn't even matter if you stall him out because the magic will find you anyways.
@@DEFYN idk i was in a low speed dogfight vs 2 mirages and the Su-17 was actually turning as opposed to Mirages just sliding in the air. At close range the magics didn't hit and one of the mirage crashed in the end and I finished off the other one. People underestimate the turning ability of this plane. Yes you do need to be left alone when in a dogfight, as if there's any teammate whose fast and has missiles its over.

It's just that the mirage has to mess up so you can get it to the slower speed fight
@@DEFYN sure but since you are so fast and gets airspawn its possible to catch late spawn mirages or ones that are climbing kinda slow. But again only in 1 on 1 its a viable tactic.
If they're slow you don't need sweep wings. You just need a bomb with a rocket motor :^)
