Hey crazies! This is Dan from FYS. I just wanted give you guys a little back story on our new live video for "Heroes". We recorded it in Worcester, Ma (our hometown) at the Palladium. We were super stoked to play there cuz it was our first time and we had grown up going to shows there. We decided to record a video of the show and work out all the details. The show was so insane! The kids were fucking awesome, even crazier than we ever imagined! Anyone who was there can back me up haha. People were jumping off the balconies!!!! Fucking great! Because the show was so insane the video taping was forced to end early, so we only got like 1 and half takes of the song, so we didn't have much footage to work with. No biggie, the kids showed up for work in full force haha. We had a fucking blast and are super proud of it. We got to showcase all the kids from home who have been with us since we started and wanted to show them they were as big of a part in this as we are. Basically the video is a thank you to everyone who has help us out by coming to shows and making them a blast for us. Well anyways, I hope everyone enjoys our video for "Heroes", and takes it as an instructional video for going fucking bonkers at the shows! Thanks to all the kids that came out to the show and risked life and limb.Take care guys.
Dan FYS
P.S. We should hang out more!
I can't believe it. I found this band 5 years ago, and now I'm going on tour with them...
+BrunoAguileraMedia NICE m8! :DDD
Whats your band called?
Sad Black Man
Holly Would Surrender
I saw you in Hamburg a few months ago, good job!
BrunoAguileraMedia wow dude im so happy for you..
First show I ever went to without my parents. I was 13 years old, and needless to say if it wasn't for this show I probably wouldn't be into what I'm into today. Say whatever you want about these guys, but to the crowd that's been around since It's Our Time, this band has made Massachusetts pop-punk/hardcore so fucking proud.
mrtylerodonnell1 pop* there is nothing punk about this, at all.
@@xmypantsxit's Easycore, so he's wrong
2019 and this song brings back so many memories :)
These guys deserve more recognition the pioneers of easycore.
pioneers?? New Found Glory!! Set Your Goals!!
They might be the pioneers but A Day to Remember are the kings of it
@@Ffmt-ri3ti lol
NFG mate
There needs to be a "Where Are They Now" for the crowd surfers, stage divers, and everyone in the video.
I'm here! I was there! I'm 29 now, still hit shows whenever I can, still stage diving bruv.
Still in mass no longer stage diving the scene is dead. This was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to though the energy was nuts set your goals played too
We exist we’re just 30 now and teaching the young uns how it’s done 💪🏼
@@NB-ou9hkthe scene is totally not dead, at least not here in LA. Check out Strawberry Fuzz, their shows are like this if not crazier!!
I love this band, Its all about having a blast, living life to the fullest.
The world needs a couple more bands like this
Check out Action Adventure. They sound alike
I never get tired of this song
It's 2018 now, and I still not getting tired of this song
2020 and I`m still here
Me neither
It's a classic
2022 and still my fav song
One of my all time favorite songs.
"Sad enough to say that alone I can be barely light a match but together we burn this place down."
Hands down one of the all time best lyrics ever and more relevant than ever!
These gentlemen are Easycore pioneers, enough said there alone, but simply amazing still in 2022 !
The vocals were prime on this album.
I was three years old when they performed this show, my brother is actually in the middle of the pit @ 0:05. Now I am 18 and absolutely love Four Year Strong. I'm glad I got to see them for a couple of holiday shows and their EOW tour 2022 at the Roadrunner, but dreading I couldn't be at this performance.
still listen to this almost every day 8 years later! waited all day in 90 degree weather to see you guys at warped tour in detroit and ended up having a heat stroke after the breakdown. lost my shoe, which ended up on stage some how...
90 degree heat stroke? Damn I'm glad I grew up in west Texas. I'm like the bane of hot weather, I was born in it
Lmao, I too have lost shoes at warped tour... was back in like '03 or '04 but being in the pit, losing a shoe and seeing it fly on stage will always a fun memory
every time ive seen these guys they play with all their heart and put on some of wildest sets that anybody could witness
Saw them live yesterday :)
I hate that this comment is 10yrs old
Rare now
Are they back touring now?!?
Not sure about now, but I saw them the day before quarantine hit. If it's the last concert I'll ever be able to attend, I can still die happy saying it was worth it
@@chalachala6 hell yeah!
the next week I will see them in the riot fest in chicago !
I get goosebumps when I hear the breakdown of this song because it just takes me back to every time I've seen them.
Summer of '09 baby! Me and the boys would blare the shit out of this song in sync in 3 different cars when we all got our lisences lmao. You could hear us coming a mile away lmao. This whole album really. One of the best albums of all time.
pop punk shows are too much fun. the energy is so real! wish they were playing in denver with TSSF in october :(
One of the best “easy-core” songs ever released. Just truly magnificent song in every way. Timeless.
The evolution of Easycore
I remember seeing these guys at warped tour in 2008 and this was the last song they played. BEST SHOW EVER. I stayed up for at least two days because of how amped up this show was. Such a great band!
that 08 warp tour was such a great tour i went to it in dallas and fell in love with lots new bands 4yearstrong being one of them and attack!attack!,bring me the horizon. got to see sum41 absolutely kill it leaving everyone wanting more! Andrew w.k. angles and airwaves, story of the year, gym class heros, the devil wears prada. best part of the whole thing is the band shwayze pulled me out of the line and told me i was part of their band even got to shoot the shit with them while they were signing autographs and they got me several girls number....wish i could turn back time
I'm just now seeing your comment. This is seriously the greatest thing I've ever read!!!!!!!!!! Damn those were the days man! Wish I could go back as well, my friend.
Remember first time hearing this song on my mix CD a friend of mine made years ago in 2008 I ask him the band name and he got me into Four Year Strong awesome band
Talking about the hot topic sampler in the tan case? Had the dvd and cd?
this band live is one of the best experiences ever. So intense
this is real punk so talented
Just Saw them at Boston House of Blues! These guys kick ass! Great energy, Great music.. I strongly recommend them to you all if you dont know them well! Way to Rep Mass FYS!! Keep it goin!
I can say something about you and you have no way of finding out
Man I was at this show with set your goals. One of the best most energetic shows I’ve ever been to miss this era of music
12 years later and still such a fucking banger of a song
I wish I could go back in time to tell my younger self to see these guys live!
I’ll never get to old for this I don’t care what anyone says !
This is what I believe people would consider a “certified banger”
I remember first hearing them at my friend's house. His cousin is Alan Day and we all played ultimate frisbee at my friend's high school graduation years later.
One of the most under rated bands, and most of all drummers! Love these guys!
"heroes get remembered, legends never die" isn't that from the sandlot?
I'm 27 and so happy that something like this exists. FYS for life!
This song is everything
29 de Enero 2024 saludos desde Texcoco México 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Classic easycore. Always reminds me of old school Fall Out Boy for whatever reason
Four Year Strong is FTW! This song is so epic!
Man the memories...
This song never gets old.
Hey! There I am at 2:57 getting blindsided by one of the kamikaze stage divers. Good day. Great show.
Haha, nice. That's like almost the same breakdown from Unearth's song 'Endless'. Anyone else notice that? Kinda necessary to mosh at that point, that dude's forgiven.
i remember the first time i ever heard this song and saw this video, and i knew at that moment this band would change my life...and i wasn't wrong
Old school easycore
Not a single f'ing cell phone. God, I miss concerts like this!
FOUR YEAR STRONG LYRICS
"Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die"
Oh, something tells me
I'm never gonna live this one down
But I'll try but I'm gonna need a quick hand,
A sharp eye, a smooth talker
Just to play this one out to the very end.
And this is where you come in
I know, that I could count on you to walk me through
And I'm making sure that everyone who's anyone
Can be the someone that they've always wanted to.
If I couldn't get away with anything
Then how in the hell did I get here?
Say something. Say anything.
You were never the one to have something to say.
Say something. Say something. Say anything.
I've seen the best and worst of you
But we're sticking through
Because without all of the ups and downs
We've been through
You know that it's true
That I could really get sick and tired of you.
Oh, something tells me
I'm never gonna live this one down
But I'm down and out
Cause if the tensions light as a feather
Then I'd be bored stiff
We gotta mix things up a bit to keep up my interest
Sad enough to say that
Alone I could barely light a match
But together we can burn this place down.
Sorry about the mess
But when we team up, team up
We always seem to bring this place to the ground
And this is where you come in
I know, that I could count on you to walk me through
And I'm making sure that everyone who's anyone
Can be the someone that they've always wanted to.
I've seen the best and worst of you
But we're sticking through
Because without all of the ups and downs
We've been through
You know that it's true
That I could really get sick and tired of you.
Sad enough to say that
Alone I could barely light a match
But together we can burn this place down.
Sorry about the mess
But when we team up, team up
We always seem to bring this place to the ground
I've seen the best and worst of you
But we're sticking through
Because without all of the ups and downs
We've been through
You know that it's true
That I could really get sick and tired of you.
Stoked to find out these guys are touring with Story of the Year this winter. Woo woo!
Can’t wait! Crowds gonna be amazing
i remember this song, 7years ago
This band fucking rules because they played together for SEVEN years before "Rise or Die Trying".... think about that
I'M SEEING THEM IN A MATTER OF DAYS. so stoked.
THIS SONG AND THIS BAND WILL NEVER DIE
True fan right here from Worcester , they went to dorhety high school , i never meet them personally but theyre great!
remember when this song first came out... still listening in 2018
Out of all the songs when they were in dallas for warperd tour...this was the sickest one of them all. Keep on rocking my fellow fans!
Looks like alot of people are listening to their old Playlists haha
Four year strong, chunk no captain chunk,a day to remember!
Awesome Band
Banda muito foda, podia vir para o Brazilll \oo/
wow ive been listening to these guys for a while but never saw them before and... mind... BLOWN! didnt expect them to look like that at all
Can't say that they are better than ADTR
both are good in there style
a day to remember are shite, fys are amazing
Gareth gman All you are showing is that you are so immature that you can't see they have different styles .
MrTungtarung Sry but ADTR
Alessandro Mela after the lstest album
i agree with you
ADTR should have stayed metalcore.
14 years. Half my life. Best show ever, I miss Warped so much.
Crazy how old this is now...
Still a banger in 2021
Who’s still listening in 2023
How about now 2024
I love the hell out of this album. Great tune.
FYS >>>>>>>> ADTR
Fuck no
Not even close
FYS=ADTR
To me they sound like a mix up between Coheed and Cambria and jimmy eat world
I saw them live when they played this! Got destroyed in the pit 😮😮🤙🤙
bring back synthesizer player :')
I love it when a band brings out the best of a specific style of metal.
the sandlot brought me here
Jake Ward I said the same thing!
Still my favorite music after these years. bad kid i've been, bad kid i remain.
2024 ?
heard this song at a Vans store and had my little spazz moment, dropped what i was doing, and asked for the name of the band
so
fucking
WORTH IT!
@TheCrimsonRecordings Yup :]
I remember seeing FYS and SYG back in 2010. FYS played the best show I have ever seen. To top it off, someone was dancing HARD behind me during the SYG set (that pissed me off at first), and I turn around to see Josh moshing his heart out. SICK!
Haha my brothers were there.
Nice to see this band getting a lot more attention. These guys deserve it.
more blend harmonics vocals4 than ADTR is nice
Saw fys at the Palladium 2 summers ago. By far one of the best shows I've ever been too.
the band adtr wish they were
why does everyone compare every pop punk band that has an edge to them to adtr? no band sounds like adtr and adtr doesn't sound like anyone else.
no adtr are shit
Gareth gman Not at all. FYS and ADTR are both great bands.
Both bands are really cool, though they acted like kids....
Gareth gman Sounds like another butt hurt FYS fan
Ever since the first time I heard this song, I've loved it! :')
smartphones ruined shows for real.
DUDE! So true!!
You are going to the wrong shows then, my man!
Dude that’s only millennial kids that are 15 to 19 years old. Rock shows still have mosh pits today.
@@nine5661yeah. Turnstile shows get out of control lol. No safety anywhere you go lmao
Youre going to the wrong shows
This was the first song I heard by FYS, it was on some "Rise Up!" New pop-punk, post-hardcore dvd. Thank god for that dvd. Fan For Life, Team up, Team up!
Shows don't have half the energy they used to. It's not even fun going anymore, and that was precovid. Everyone just standing there giving you weird looks if you try to have a good time.
Facts 😥
Live at download 2012 was amazing! Imbetween songs was awkward but that will get better and the music just broke the awardness in seconds! The crowd was just mental! What a was to leave a great impression on england!
Oh god, compare Allan's beard here to now. Christ
These guys put on one hell of a show. I would go see them again in a heartbeat
@2:32 LOOK AT MY AFRICAN AMERICAN OVER THERE, LOOK AT HIM. ARE YOU THE GREATEST?
That is a young uzi vert
I got to hang out with Josh when FYS came to Austin in October. He was one of the nicest guys I've ever met and even helped me get a shirt signed by all 5 band members for my girlfriend at the time. I still love these guys but FYS will never be the same.
aaah teenage years ^^ still great
Drummer is fucking crazy! Double bass is what attracted me to this song; which in turn led me to this band! Awesome!
This is the greatest live concert i have ever seen. The fans were fucking insane and crazy. I wish i was on stage.
Just watching this gave me chills,
I wish i was there!
there such a awesome band! i was stagediving and fell on the stage and they r like r u ok then threw me back in the crowd lol its awesome!
My sister and I at the stone pony in NJ with set your goals!!!! Back in early early 2000s
DEAR GOD YES! AND HE DID THE SCREAMING TOO!!!! They need more screaming. Over these past few months, post hardcore and metal have appealed a lot more to me. and i love bad ass screaming
I saw them in concert a few days ago! They were amazing :)
If you ask me, this is true pop PUNK. I love FYS.
Saw these guys when I was like 16. First time crowd surfing!!
Rise Or Die Trying was the best album in the history of mankind, and that probably won't change anytime soon.
My fav song by them
Seeing these guys along with Blink and AAR.. Can't wait :P
its sad man. Like idk reminiscing on this it felt like good music always used to fall in my lap. Nowadays, the same bands have changed their sound and new bands this cool are few and far between. Ill always love the memories and time I spent when this music was new and thriving. one love.
Best crowd Ive ever seen.
Dude this is such a genre defining song. The verses with the harmomics and metalcore influences, really put ezcore on the map
