"Empty Space" Lyrics
All that I know
Is your space is empty
It's buried below
The stress and the envy
All the places I go
It still hasn't left me
I hated it then and now it consumes me
I dwell on it nightly
Tread swiftly and lightly
Make up the lost ground
And see what you don't see
All questions aside I asked and you lied
And now my hands are tied
All I can show
Is absence from your life
That I can't control
It's all that I get right
Keep paying the toll
I know that it seems like
I'm always upset

When I was at their concert. Parker Canon was trying to crowd surf and he jumped on my hand and broke my wrist. It was a privilege to get my wrist broken by him.
i got a concussion at one of their shows and i had never felt so honored.
Kevin Root that was weak, try harder
kyle c you just said what any person would say if they didn't have a comeback. its like you can do all the bullying for me.
Kevin Root ......
kyle c ......
10 years later and this is still *the* quintessential pop punk anthem. Masterpiece.
Facts bro 😄
33 years old, and this song will forever remain in heart.
We out here. Apropos of the song, this shit still hasn’t left me.
damn unc
32 same here
yep
37 BABY! 🤘 Salute to the 30’s and still rockin G’s!
Still get the same rush of endorphins when I listen 10 years later. I love music, man.
Man, i must be living in a cave. This band is amazing.
I love them. True. You just have to keep finding. Music like this hardly gets any airplay unless is the latest rnb hip hop crap.
+Artemia Solitude (Levana) dont disrespect the genre's of RnB and hip hop. The music your thinking of is pop. Every song you hear on the radio is pop. There are bad rap songs on the radio but RnB is not even relatable to what you hear
+Artemia Solitude (Levana) Also check out Neck Deep they just released a new album and it is very similar to this band. In fact both of the lead singers have similar haircuts lol
+Brandon Kemp IHOW are the bees knees
+Artemia Solitude (Levana) Same here I just found out about them :D
I'm so glad these dudes are getting a lot of recognition now. they totally deserve it! such a great band.
pat,
youre doing good out there with most of your comments but this one is simply a dud.
thanks for trying though pat and keep making more comments but take your time man.
thanks bud! I will try and do better. I hope you have a good day =]

Thanks to your cute little comment on the riff raff video i can pick you out in a crowd now. Notice how pat just chimed in, apologized for his regrettable behavior and then moved on amicably? That is the kind of conduct that makes this whole thing go so much easier. I always tell myself, "Nothing, no matter how good or pure is free from decay". I dwell on that nightly in the hopes of attaining a meager understanding of the motivations of you and your kind. It never adds up and I'm left stinking at the mere thought of the savage depravity run rampant in the comment community. The Brennan clan will never give in, never surrender and will not for at least fifteen brave generations resort to petty insults and name calling. Mercifully, I will never understand the mindset of one who deliberately types out a death wish like you have done on this night but I am curious of one thing: was it worth it?
Anyways,
Patrick, love you bro!!
THANKS.

Pop Punk is love. Pop Punk is life.
So sadly true...
He'll fuggin yes!
Such a cringy phrase in retrospect. You're parents seriously need to kick you the fuck out
Teddy Daniels damn nigga why you crying
I will literally die for pop punk!
Crowd surfing to this at warped literally was one of the most gratifying experiences of my life.
I’m 25 but still have the soul of an angsty teenager.
same, 24 here
29 and that feeling hasn't left me yet =D
Mood
34.
Amen to that!
I still remember so clearly the day I fell in love with this band - in May 2013. I came across this video and instantly connected with them, understood clearly what they set out to achieve with their music. It's a bright summer day, the waning of autumn before it gets cold, an old friend to come back to for comfort. I don't know how many hundreds of times I've heard What You Don't See front to back. But it never fades in appeal or relevance to my place in life. And that is damn rare. Love these guys so damn much.
These guys were the soundtrack to my high school graduation, senior year summer, getting my first job, totaling my car, and the list goes on. Always will hold a special place in me
Remember hearing this back in high school. Listening to this again now at 26 and its even more amazing now. Went thru a fucked up breakup with a cheating ex and this shit just hits way harder now. Everything that I've been keeping inside is literally encapsulated in this song. Thank you for helping me heal.
Same man I just got out a bad relationship to. This band has helped me more than words can possibly describe
Proper Dose the album helped me heal my entire life. I owe so much to this band. I hope you guys find your peace 🙏
Same with my bm right now

+Jamie Macky aw ): you should've kept it going
*The stress and the envy, All the places I go*
*It still hasn’t left me, I hated it then*
*And now it consumes me, i dwell on it nightly*
his voice is unbelievable
nostalgia to when I first discovered them 3 years ago jeezzz
I'm 29 and have nothing but regrets over not discovering this band sooner...Holy fucking shit does this music speak to me
I'm 25. Saw them in New York and WWWY and they were amazing live. Getting into them now and big regrets as well.
Same dude! I would’ve loved them back then, just as much as I currently do.
You're not alone! Started listening at 28 years old and they got their hooks into me. Kinda nice to know I'm not alone in that. I think I have a greater appreciation for them at this age
holy shit dude, i don't even know how i would've survived till this point without these guys and i'm only 23
@@fablesgrave1472I’m 10
This is my favorite TSSF song and yet it's so short. Their lyrics may always connote being upset and angry, but you can actually feel it here. I want more songs like this.
It just never gets old.
Why can't bands like these (meaning pop punk in general) be played all over the radio? WE NEED MORE OF THIS. BRING BACK POP PUNK.
'All I can show, is absence from your life that I can't control'. Never before have I heard a lyric that encapsulates the pain of losing someone and there being nothing you can do about it.
I turn 30 this month...where did the decade go. Seems like yesterday was jamming to this in college.
I am so disappointed with myself. I had heard of The Story So Far about a million times and I'm just now checking them out today! This band is so fucking great! Double thumbs up from me dude.
This song is too good to be this short.
Saw them at Self Help in 2016, still can feel the energy of the concert when I listen to their music. Was one of the best performers
How old were you that time?
This dude's voice is so unique. He's not quite yelling but it's not quite singing all the time either. Great band.
Agree
ummn no he's definitely hyelling.
so many memories from 2013 when i was 22 at university, now i'm 31 and miss those pop punks bands from this era
Man it's been how many years and this song is still life 💯🔥💪
Now THIS is real pop punk. 5SOS fans take note.
😂😂😂
I honestly think 5SOS might make pop punk a little more popular. They are really good friends with ATL so i am hoping they tour together and people realize how good ATL is and start looking into this music more. THATS WHAT I'M HOPING. It's unlikely but hey a man can dream.
Michael Schuster ATL hasn't been good since 2007...
Matt LeClerc Nothing Personal was 2009 and that was their highest selling album. Dont Panic wasnt that great but Nothing Personal was just as good as So Wrong It's Right. Plus they are one of the best live bands i've seen
Michael Schuster Duude, Don't Panic was 10 times better than Nothing Personal. ATL is my favorite band, and still the fact is that Nothing Personal sold more copies because it sounded more poppy. But yeah, they're great live.
Just found this band and have been obsessed with this
man seeing how many views this has now versus the first time i saw this trips me out. good for these guys.
have just discovered these guys thanks to the warped tour webcasts. Loving it so much. Catchy songs with the right amount of rough edginess and awesome vocals.
New favourite band for sure
“I dwell on it nightly, tread swiftly and lightly” - gah, the language nerd in me is purring.
One of my all time favorite bands. Will never forget seeing y'all live at Warped Tour
this is still the best song they've wrote, this is one of the greatest pop punk songs ever

Where's the drop kick ??
+Richard Hutton HAHHHH
HAHAHAHA ROFL
OMGMBMMGMMG SOO FUCKING FUNNY
It's a really simple song, but it's very catchy!
+Chad M (CMShaddix) Fuck you!
+IamShauny dude...What's your problem?
The original comment was positive.
+IamShauny wth dude
Even the guitar parts are simple. It's nice.
That's called pop punk :)
0:04 one of the best shots/edits in this video, the bass drop, Canon jump-punch in sync with the crowds jump, & of course the song... it's a masterpiece
I just discovered these guys 2 or 3 months ago. Wow I've really been missing out.
Seriously fucking love this whole entire album. This is one of the best songs on it
WHY DID I JUST DISCOVERED THIS BAND NOW!?!?
The timeless song, always comeback to hear and watch this band
Hope all my little rockstars are doing good and still blasting that pop punk 💘🥲the good ol days
I remember grading Parker's essays when he had my dad for hs English, and later selling him bongs at the local headshop before Warped each year. Great to see local boys make good :)
Probably the best on the album in my opinion
John Charles I'm not sure if you think you're funny and testing me or if this is a genuine question, but I'll treat it as a genuine question. It's called What You Don't See. :)
Oh jeez, Sorry! Sometimes I can't tell if people are joking or not, it's hard to tell over the internet. Hope you're enjoying them. :)
I prefer The Glass over this. Both great songs.
Yesss, another best
Really late to this, but Playing The Victim is also amazing
This is my first time hearing the original version ive been hooked on the acoustic version for years. This is good too.
I love the line “I hated it then and now it consumes me”.
Such a good song!!!!
This song just kicks soo much ass!!
Still so good
This has by far become my favorite band ever! The rhythm and lyrics align with me perfectly. Can't believe I just discovered them.
well, at the end of the day, when someone says "one of the best albums of all time", it's actually an opinion. maybe they listened to this during a had time in their life and it really related to them on a deep level? Why do you have to bash someone for sharing their opinion? Sure, nobody asked for it, but that's the beauty of an opinion. it's a piece of someone's beliefs being shared. So instead of a harsh reply, why not try to see where that person is coming from? I definitely agree that this is one of the best albums in existence. Not because it trumps all other musically, but because it really speaks to me and I can relate to a lot of the lyrics. It also gives me a certain feeling when I listen to it that no other album has given me. I listened to it in the winter and the summer and the spring and the fall, through bad times and good times. This album has been a landmark in my life and in my music listening over the past year and in my humble opinion, it is one of the greatest albums in existence. Thank you TSSF for making damn good, enjoyable, relatable music. Sorry for the ramble.
three years later, but thank you for this wholesome and honest comment. this describes what music is really about.
discovering this band was one of the greatest things I have ever done.
I am so very glad I randomly found this. 👍👍😁
I love these guys and also Neck Deep
i have to say that civilization herself have a good taste on music
What the hell does that even mean?
@@DownpourOfLead lol
a vtuber called nanashi mumei recomended me this band =D
Lol I keep finding comments about Mumei and some people are like "who tf Mumei?" gotta thank her for her recommendation
@@zorohibiki good taste
Their music videos always make me so happy.
This is one of my favorite songs by the story so far so glad i got to see it live yesterday!
i love the story so far. they need to come back.
They’re working on an album
Wow New favorite band hands down.
this song describe a certain owl's brain
such a badass band
from freshman year in high school to graduating college last year, this still remains one of my fav albums
This has been on repeat for about an hour. Can't get enough of this song, can't wait to hear the rest of the album, I usually download albums but I'd feel like a dick since these guys have made the best albums so far.
Honestly just really good music no matter who you are.
this music still hits hard
this song hits me right in the feels
This band never fails to be great.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS IN EXISTENCE
i don't think you listen to enough music to say such a statement
i said "one of" because there are many great albums of our time. I just really enjoyed this one :)
i have to dissagree
you can call it one of your favorites but it is nowhere near the league of such great albums ike the clash's london calling, metallica's master of puppets, slayer thrash meta bible known as reign in blood, kiss' destroyer abum, michael jackson's thriller, the ramones debut, queen, everything the beatles released...
those were albums that made an impact on the world
these guys are just a band of guys payig pop rock
clashcitycretin10 it's called an opinion lol
exactly
it's an opinion
but all the albums that i mentioned are critically acclaimed by music critics
when the most influential music critics (people whose job it is to recognize good music) get together and agree that an album is amazing
it stops being an opinion
so far this is just an opinion
love these guys great song
love his voice
great great music. so fucking tight.
Bless moomers for this amazing reccomendations
I love how in the chorus he says the first word of the line at the end of the line before...
I
Dwell on it nightly tread
swiftly and lightly make
up for lost ground and see what you dont see....
amazing
My all time favorite band, such a unique sound, ilove them
Great track, amazing album. Top 10 for sure.
Kelen Capener is such an underrated bass player. He really adds so much to the sound of the band
He’s gone now
@@AnonURnot well aware…his skills will be missed
Never knew there was a video to this song it just popped up on my RUclips!!!
I have seen them live there are so good!
all these songs i wish my ex could hear every word and understand the struggle ive gone through since we split. She would be put to shame. She wouldn't even recognize me anymore.
Love it! First time I've heard it and already fallen in love! :)
I listened to this song for the first time yesterday and by today I've already listened to it 64 times... This band is going to be my new obsession, I just know it!
Love this song
Cant believe how far these guys have come over the last 10 years or so to be supporting BLINK 182 on their UK portion of their tour. See you guys next year
if it weren't for Mumei i would never find this
i liked xd
These guys are my favorite band. All I listened to senior year ❤️. Some of the best lyricists you'll find. Pop punk is full of em
This song is still sooo gooood 😩💖💖
To the people arguing if it's punk or pop punk ITS MUSIC and ITS GOOD so SHUT UP AND ENJOY IT
Still, it's pop punk.
yea its deffs pop punk
They're hardcore/ punk rock.its a little harder than pop punk. Rise against is hardcore and they sound very similar
>Rise Against
>Hardcore
try again dude, they also sound nothing like this band haha
Parker does a raspberry when he sings "up for lost ground" 0:42
Trevor McClintock How did I never notice that...
I wish I could experience what it’s like to fall in love with this song again for the first time
never been to a gig with more energy than these guys, had the entire joint going crazy!
Gotta lose this late 20s weight so I don’t break anyone’s wrist when I jump into that crowd this summer
who's tryna throw hands while listening to this
hmu
+dansal96 bruh where you stayin? i'll throw fists with you guy
Hellyeah

@Christian Calderon wanna go to your crib?
Perfection omg
This is one of my favorite songs EVER. So damn good.
We’re almost at 5 mill bois let’s get this bread 😈
thanks for the recommendation Mumei!
Saw them supporting ADTR in 013 (The Netherlands) and didn't even mind to listen at all for some reason.
Came home and listened to their album, I'm addicted ever since and need to (really) see (and listen to!) them again. Got their Vinyl of What You Don't See already :)
This is just.. the best song
