    ------------
    In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
    Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

He quickly returns, but he breaks momentarily IMO

      @@calebsevigny1146 Greg kind of has a nature stern intimidating aura to him though. His giant size and past as a teacher certainly helps. It's the fact he's in no way threatening as a human being and physically inept as well as his entire jovial personality that even allows those moments to seem even remotely funny. Whilst I'd agree he certainly broke the stern and intimidating persona in those moments with the smile I'd also say he didn't really break it. I don't remember the bob poops bit but his mother. He immediately did a double take with a strange yet happy smile upon his face before immediately following up with you traitorous old woman. Which felt very on brand. What I'm trying to say is more of compliment to him then anything else. He very much managed to both break the character and maintain it at the same time in that moment. Which really just seemed to add depth to the character as opposed to destroying it.

      I think that was intentional taskmaster tomfoolery, they were counting on most people - like Dezzy - considering the scissors but seeing the initial timesink as intimidating and their subsequent misses as a matter of pride. It's gambling addiction mentality and they were probably deliberately rewarding anyone who cheesed the task instead.
      Makes me think of another balloon task, "pop just two and win", so my own fix would be to hide the scissors behind at least a simple puzzle (the portcullis is clearly visible so that'd be a hint) so you have to be clever rather than just pragmatic.
      I'll also call tomfoolery on the forks and stones not popping the balloon, I think MAYBE one that would pop with a strong throw of a fork would be appropriate but I think there was a joke item the cheapest on purpose (aside from the ducks) in case people fell for it.

      I also thought that doing something with the 'rope' to cheese the task was the way to go. I'm not sure your solution would work though, unless you instantly moved 'behind' the rope as you were reading the task because once Alex introduces you to the shop the task starts and from the position of the disk you're supposed to stand on (the one next to the shop) that would lock your 'behind' option to the further one. It also could be difficult to get the items from the shop that way since Alex might just hand them to you unless you get closer (you could still probably pop the balloon just with your hands though.
      I was thinking more about treating the string as a rope and getting closer to the balloon by going over the side.

    It doesn’t say anything about having to use the shop tools at all, or being able to just leave as long as you don’t pass the rope. You can probably go source your own tools, like a really long branch or sharper pebbles for the slingshot. Doesn’t seem like there’s much around though. Either way, the expense of the items in the shop gives you plenty of time to find something to beat the other contestants in time.

    Rules as stated:
    Stay behind the rope.
    Do not remove the rope.
    Do not touch the string, unless to use the scissors on it.
    Best solution: Pick up both posts the rope is attached to and run forward.
    Moving the rope is not removing the rope and in fact you haven't even touched the rope, you've moved the posts the rope is attached to. Same with the string.

    • @lemonade107
      @lemonade107 Год назад +3

      No, the rules say "You must not move the rope", not "must not remove it".
