      I was SHOOK. Like, really? I know that Seth, more so than other late night hosts, features guests that don't usually get booked on other shows (drag performers come to mind). But to book someone based off their RUclips channel? Times have changed.
      It just shows the power of RUclips (Mark Rober has appeared on Kimmel a few times, and Lilly Singh had a short-lived show right after this one) and how the entertainment landscape has shifted. Years ago, a project like this would be promoted on something like BBC America, as there would be another way for viewers in the US to (legally) watch. Now, this show uploads on RUclips the day after it airs.
      I also like how no one mentioned the failed US network version of the show, LOL...

For a mostly unscripted show, the chaos and weirdness of the comedy combined with the insane scripted bits, is a wonderful treat and a hell of a lot better than most scripted comedy. I would like to point out that the reason Taskmaster is so internationally popular*, is that the show made the decisions to upload every episode in full on thier RUclips channel.
    I can't believe how so many good shows are hidden behind paywalls and in addition exclude the rest of the world, people dont want subscription services they want to be able to watch what is out there.
    *it also helps a lot that it is a genuinely good and funny show.

      Taskmaster Australia is good as well! TM New Zealand also had some really fun candidates, the assistant is very good, but that Jeremy Wells dude is a big dud as the TM.

    • @Elwaves2925
      @Elwaves2925 2 месяца назад +13

      Yeah, the US version of TM failed so maybe they're trying to push the UK version. Americans that don't know it have a lot of fun ahead of them. The New Zealand version is also excellent from season 2 onwards. The first is worth watching but the second is some of the funniest TV ever.

      @@mfsoab Jeremy gets better, becomes more relaxed but for me he's one of the reasons that first NZ season doesn't work as well. It seemed like he had no idea about what he was doing. Very flat and boring but he does improve, which you may have seen.

    It's genuinely impressive that Taskmasters been *very* entertaining for sixteen series now, soon to be seventeen.
    I have soo many favorite taskmaster moments that they no longer fit the definition of a single favorite. It's just like...a plethorite now.

      @@FloraWest I personally wasn't really a fan of series ten. Part of that was just the show having to deal with pandemic related stuff, like social distancing and lack of a live audience, another part was only two of the comedians' humor really working for me. The others I found actively annoying. Still, one series out of sixteen being a bit of a dud...not a bad score!
      All other series actually made me miss the contestants a bit when a series came to an end.

      Yes! You are so right. I’ve seen every season and I can’t tell you how many times I will see the lineup of new comedians for a season and only know 1 or 2 and think to myself “oh no, this isn’t going to be as good” and literally every time I’ve been wrong, 16 seasons and it has genuinely never been less than incredibly funny and entertaining.
