I have 2 bands for you that blow everybody out of the water in my opinion, #1 TOOL, I would start with (THE POT) or (THE GRUDGE) they just won a Grammy for a song off their new album that was just released in 2019 for best Rock Metal performance. #2 ALICE IN CHAINS, start with (IT AIN'T LIKE THAT ANYMORE) or (LOVE HATE LOVE) live at The Moore Theater in Seattle WHY? cause this band is better live and this is their best performance by far. RIP LAYNE YOU ARE MISSED BY MANY.
Shinedown - Monsters and Call Me are cool songs but I suggest 45, as well. And of course - Enemies. You can also check Apocalyptica feat. Brent Smith (the lead-singer of Shinedown) - Not strong enough.

Pretty sure this is considered to be Hard Rock not Metal. Whole other criteria to be judged by IMO. I tend to think it straddles the line between Pop Rock and Old fashioned hard rock. At the same time, I could be wrong... After all I don't think you could find a more simple metal tones from a band than AC/DC's. But I'd fight the person who said they weren't metal. It's metal, it's just old-fashioned metal.
