I was born in Jamaica and came to America when I was 4 years old. My family spoke with accents and spoke patois so I knew how to do it, but I wouldn't do it because I didn't feel it sounded right coming from me. I didn't want to disrespect my own origins by doing Jamaican accents like an Americans try to copy. Maybe he is self conscious about it and that is why he doesn't do it well. This is just a guess and I can be completely wrong.
