I stayed at the Majestic Mirage for 6 nights I had a great experience. My butler his name was Elvis he was always checking on us and we were able to reach him via what’s app for whatever we needed. The day we arrived he escorted us while giving us a tour. Once in our room he gave us the pillow menu and asked for our dinner reservations which also took care of. In reference to the language issue we have to realize that we are traveling to a Spanish speaking country. Some of the employees may speak English but many of them won’t. In America English is the national language it is wrong for us to expect the same when we make a decision to travel out of the country. I hate that was your experience fortunately, it was not mine. I have plans to stay there again this time at the Majestic Elegance three weeks from now. I am looking forward to my trip.
I am just giving my honest review and I actually really enjoyed Majestic. I plan on going back and I do recommend it to clients. I just think it’s good to know all aspects of a resort because it’s not always perfect and I don’t like to set people up for disappointment. In the event they have similar experiences. Totally love the place and it is absolutely beautiful.

I won't take one person's review as the gospel truth. There is a reason Trip Advisor rates the Mirage as the number one resort in Punta Cana and why there are almost 7,000 google reviews with an average of 4.7 out of 5. I am not changing my plans. I will be there in May.
This is an honest review not a bad review. I love Majestic and I myself am going back. Now I know how to approach things a little differently this time. I hope that this video helps people traveling there and does not discourage them from doing so.

I was at the property for a week in February 2022 and have to say I didn’t experience any of the things you’ve mentioned. Our butler was amazing and promptly made our dinner reservations within 30 minutes of asking. Most all the staff, especially those in the restaurants, bar and front desk spoke great English. I was not a fan of their red wine but it was never cold. We thought the burgers were amazing and they were cooked. If not we wouldn’t have eaten them. Not sure if you just had bad luck but I highly recommend the Majestic Elegance and can’t wait to return again soon.
Overall I did love the place and plan on going back. It may have just been our situation at the time.

I went here late April and had the same exact experience with the “butler” and making reservations. Guy was totally MIA the whole time when we reached out. Other people raved about their butler but I felt like ours was terrible. We asked for a reservation at the Japanese place and he legit forgot until day 3 then told us he couldn’t get us in before 9. We had kids with us so obviously wouldn’t work for us. Between that and French being adults only we missed out on two restaurants :(
Cold red wine and raw burgers sounds like a home run!!! No sarcasm intended
We stayed there and it was great our Butler was Wilbur he was fantastic my wife sleep machine broke he came to our room twice and he got it fixed entertainment was great staff was great
Book the Go Transfer through the hotel. Outstanding !
Do you need to meet with amstar when you arrive ? We are going soon , could ignore that and still get home in time or do we still need to meet in order to get our drivers name?

I'm not sure if I would travel to Punta Cana after watching your videos. Definitely some things that I would be worried about and freaked out about if I was on vacation there. Makes coming home all the more sweeter! The entertainment and foam pool party seemed exciting but....
Looking back it actually was a great experience. The trek back home was tough but we loved Majestic :)
How did you book transportation from airport to majestic mirage hotel?
I am a travel agent and I take care of that when I book the trip. There are many options for transportation. I like Amstar.

Its only the Hibachi and French that need reservations. And the latest trend from Italy is to serve even red wine cold.

Thanks for the video. We were hoping to stay here next October. I was under the influence that this resort didn't need reservations for the restaurants! Really nit a fan of that! Also, the vendors are not something I appreciate! Nit a fan of seaweed, either. There will be 8 of us traveling, so may have to change our minds on the resort! May need to loom at Dreans, since we have 1 kid under 18. Suggestions??

Stay at the mirage. It is rated number one in the Dominican republic by Trip Advisor for a reason. Take a travel agent's review with a grain of salt. You definitely will not find a nicer or bigger room anywhere.
Sounds awful what month did you went? Wondering if it was low season or something like that
This was very interesting. I’m not really sure iI’d want to visit a place that did not have good food. It did look like a fun time though. 😁

trust me as a canadian we travel to cuba a fe w times....the food there sucks we wont be going back...we went to mirage last feb,,,,we will return at x ams this yr and one reason is the food quality
If you look at other reviews, about 75% of them will say the food is amazing and the best they have ever had an an AI resort and 25% will say that it was horrible.
Jenn, the Rui all inclusives are always really good !! Good restaurants , and also buffets are excellent !!
Yes I am familiar with Riu, they have a huge following. It’s always fun to try new places 😁

Jen I just wanted to comment on the treatment you got to much and I felt sorry for your mom too. I'm commenting on the bad vacation you took with your mom. I'm sure your going there again
I would definitely revisit Majestic but NOT Ocean El Forno. It was bad!

Well, now I know I'd never want to go there, lol. In spite of the 10 good things, the 10 bad things just aren't worth it. There are so many other beautiful places to vacation that don't have near the amount of bad experiences. I can deal with some things, but the scamming, bad food, and language barrier are things I can't tolerate. Thanks for sharing your experiences!!

Those peddlers you speak of would annoy me so much but obviously tourists keep them in business. I can’t imagine supporting them but others must not care about the welfare of animals.
I felt bad for the animals and we did not take any photos there. Although my sister did love the shopping aspect lol
Heaven does not exist on Earth. Regardless of where you go there will be pros and cons. You just hope there will be more pros than cons. Peace.

The cost was not bad and there was a lot of good. The animal situation is terrible though and it’s not only in Punta Cana☹️
I'm so confused. So you went to a country whose main language is NOT English, but expected them to cater to you instead of maybe learning some of their language?
That is one of the things that makes the Caribbean appealing for US and UK travelers. They promote the fact that they are fluent in English at the resorts and you don’t need to learn their language. If she was off resort I could understand your comment, but she’s complaining that so many of the resort staff doesn’t speak the language they’ve portrayed they were fluent in! That’s one of the main reasons I book all inclusive in the Caribbean. I’ve never had a staff member at any of the resorts I’ve stayed in that did not speak English fluently. 😊
punta cana is not the caribbean
It actually is. Punta Cana, the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic, abuts the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
