In this video, I will compare two of the best properties in Punta Cana - Majestic Mirage and Majestic Elegance. These properties are owned by the same parent company, situated next to each other, and very similar. However, there are differences between these two hotels, and in this video I will discuss said differences (as well as similarities) and ultimately tell you which resort is better.

Thanks for putting in the time and effort 👌. It's Majestic Elegance for us . I've been at a few of those other hotels that you mentioned in your videos. My wife is from the Dominican Republic ,though not from Punta Cana sooo when we go on vacation we get that little extra attention. Besides we bring our friends Washington and Lincoln. And sometimes Jackson and Hamilton appear. Being from New York it's a given I negotiate everything quietly 🤫 and with a touch of elegance. So thanks James for your time

Been binge watching your videos on our attempt to plan our Punta Cana trip next May. 4 adults one 14 year old..do you recommend colonial or elegance? We were leaning toward colonial but the other 2 adults we are going with are also going there 2 months before that in February, so we were thinking elegance. Your insight would be greatly appreciated.
I would agree with, in October I booked the Mirage and in 2019 I booked the Elegance. As single travel traveler I had more fun at Elegance. As a travel agent I was able to use both properties. I agree hands down the upper level lobby bar at Mirage is better. I tried their different craft cocktails, the worst was the tobacco one and the number one for me was the Banana Peppermint. I wish I tried this drink my first night and not the last night. My next trip back, I will book Elegance.

I totally agree with you. We know both hotels, and after 1 week we moved from the Mirage back to Ellegance because the atmosphere there is a better one.

What have they done to ensure safety at elegance after the attack on the woman a couple of years ago?
Is room service included because you were upgraded club status or is that a flat rate, normal inclusion?

Thanks for your message and preference in our properties for your upcoming vacation.
Please note Majestic Colonial /Majestic Elegance / Majestic Mirage are sister properties, but don't share other facilities besides the disco, casino, sports bar, late night snack bar, convention center, Chapel, Kids club and Tennis Courts.
Guests with reservation in one property will not have access to the facilities of the other properties.
After looking into these, it seems that mirage is more relaxing and gives you peace of mind since you don't need to worry about limitations (VIP exclusions, reservations etc) but elegance offers more or less the same experience with a better bang for your buck and a little more socializing going on.
Majestic Mirage is not more expensive if you compare like rooms. The basic room at the Mirage is a 1,000 sq ft suite and includes the butler service. We booked a 1000 sq ft 1BR swim-up suite at Mirage and it is less than the Junior suite swim-up at the Elegance. Plus, as a 65 year old couple, the pool scene is not a big deal for us. We don't want a active busy party pool.

I have stayed at the majestic colonial. Which is the cheapest option of the 3. I had alot of fun. The pools were kind of awkward and as you said the beach pretty much sucked. Other than that This resort was amazing. The food was pretty good, the entertainment was good. There was always something going on that you could take part of. My favorite part was getting slizured, playing black jack, then grabbing some late night food from the snack shack and hanging out in the really nice lobby. I doubt that you would go back and stay at the colonial. But i would really like to see how it would stack up against the others. Thinking about going back and staying at the elegance this time.
I love the look of a sunken living room but after a few hours on the beach probably a little heat stroke and definitely drunk I would probably fall on my face.

Just to comment on privacy, you can request an exterior swim up and that issue will be completely resolved.
Wow elegance was supposed to be remodeled a few years back... I agree majestic is more expensive however I stayed at another hotel and a different trip and wouldn't you know it, they had the same resort bracelets lol so if I'm staying close I always bring it incase I want to get a drink or two lol

@mscheck73I'm really tied between the two. I'm concerned about limitations. It seems that elegance (if you're not a club/upgraded member) limits you on things while mirage is the same across the board for all guests?
I just want to avoid any issues when it comes to restaurants and where I can go in the all inclusive. Like, if I'm at an all inclusive, I don't want to be turned away from somewhere. I'm wondering about restaurant reservations too. Is it pretty brutal or is it just two that you need to reserve for? If so, which ones?
We went with Mirage because of the rooms. We were going back and forth between Mirage and Excellence.
Can you bounce back and forth? Do i need to book a certain room to do that ?

I'm concerned about elegance locking me out of certain things if I'm not upgraded to a "club member" whereas mirage seems to not hold a tier system on their guests and allow you to go to all 3 of their locations if you wanted to and I think get service, while elegance perhaps only allows you to be at their property/no services at mirage or colonial?
Anything to look out for (good/bad restaurants, do you always need reservations etc)

Honestly getting different vibes from you. You said Hard Rock was great in your Hard Rock review but now you are saying it was cookie cutter. I’m thinking about doing a trip to Punta Cana with my wife and two sons and some other family members and their kids. Based on where you have stayed currently. Where should we go?

We love the Elegance. I am not a fan of the layout of the Mirage. The theater is too close to the plaza.

Majestic Elegance is beautiful but I stay with Majestic Mirage because the rooms and quieter atmosphere, also we have access to all Majestic hotels in case we want!!!

Majestic Mirage was boring as hell to me and the buffet was mediocre. I also hate the Whatsapps stuff. Better to just go to Mexico. Also my shower would also flood the bathroom at the Mirage.
The Elegance was probably the worst food of all 9 resorts we’ve been to in PC. But everything else was good
