    What a fabulous holiday. The food looked amazing, the cocktails not to be missed. I'm a seafood fan so would thoroughly do my best at that buffet. It's always good te hear about to good and also the less enjoyable experiences. What a lovely time you had. 💖🙏🇳🇿🙋‍♀🇳🇱

    That’s a lot of eating. Good to see the meals improved as time went by. I was surprised to hear the Argentine steaks were tough. They are normally top notch.

      Yes, last time we were there 5 years ago the steaks melted in our mouths. I bet the steaks we had this time were not from Argentina! Imposter steaks! Thanks for watching and hope you have a great weekend!

    Feb. 2023 - The hibachi and steak restaurants were totally fabulous for us. My husband and foodie son thought their steaks were the best. I am vegetarian, and both restaurants were accommodating.
    Service was excellent!!

    thanks so much for your vedio !!! It was really helpful.We are going to Majestic Mirage next week Feb 5th. I try to reserve dinner restaurants ahead . What time zone would be great? If possible , I want to attend some night shows well. but I do not know show time schedule.

    • @TravelwithNJSteveandSue
      @TravelwithNJSteveandSue  5 месяцев назад

      Hello, glad to hear that you found the video useful! The time zone in punta Cana is Atlantic standard Time. The nightly shows in the theater begin at 8:00 p.m. each night, If I remember correctly. They have a board outside of the main buffet which lists activities and times of shows. Hope you have a great time and thanks for watching!!

    Hi. Thanks for the video. I have a question. We just returned from Mexico, (4.5 star resort) the weather was hot and dry, shame about the seaweed but wasn't a game changer. The food! The staff and the presentation was excellent but I must have a sensitive palate because all I could taste was the oil the food was cooked with. I went and asked and found out it was canola oil. Shame because (not that I wanted to subsist on fried only foods) I couldn't even have a fried egg. Gave up on the a la carte restaurants (where you make reservations and you still wait half an hour. The olive garden is faster) I stuck with boiled eggs, rolls (bread was amazing) yogurt and cereals for breakfasts. Lunch and supper were roasted foods, veggies etc. I experienced the same issue in the Dominican (4 star) where the food all tasted the same. We did stay at another resort in Cancun (delayed flight home) where the food was simply outstanding. Didn't taste any canola oil at all. If anyone has had a similar experience I would love to hear - and what solutions you found. Thanks.

      @TravelwithNJSteveandSue  Год назад

      At the Mirage most of the food had good flavor and we did not taste the oil. But we are not super sensitive to food in general and will enjoy most of what is given to us in general! (unless it's tough like in the steak house). Thanks for watching and hope your next resort has food more to your liking!

      The only place that I know that was adult only for sure was the place that we had breakfast right by the beach. The buffet and restaurants allowed children but to be honest there weren't that many children there so it was not an issue. Thanks for watching!

    Hi we’re thinking of coming from the UK, overall would you recommend the hotel and the food especially?

    • @TravelwithNJSteveandSue
      @TravelwithNJSteveandSue  Год назад

      Overall, yes we would recommend the hotel and the hotel food. I would say 90% of our food was excellent. The staff are great and the room we would suggest is the standard suite room, not the rooftop room. The standard suite room gives you two full rooms which is great. Now the majestic mirage is a little bit on the quiet side so it's not the place where you going to have a lot of loud parties. Which if you're looking for a resort to relax and enjoy the beach and take it easy, it's the perfect place. Hope you have a great time and thanks for watching

    Hello was wondering is it allowed to eat a snack on a balinese bed? Bc it seems the beach bars are drinks only so idk if there's a way to ask for a snack on the beach or it is forbidden

    • @TravelwithNJSteveandSue
      @TravelwithNJSteveandSue  10 месяцев назад +2

      That is a good question. If you have a swim out room which comes with the pool beds we did see people eating there. But not at the non-swim out beds. I think I even saw a sign that discouraged eating at the pool. The only service at the beach and at the pools was for drinks, not for food. But if you are a club member you can go into the club lounge, which has food and snacks, there are tables inside to eat and also a few tables outside near the pool and beach where you could eat. Hope that helps...thanks for watching and for asking a question!

    We booked our vacation for February and we are so scared of food poisoning. There are a good amount of reviews saying terrible thing about the food. Did any of you get sick?

    • @TravelwithNJSteveandSue
      @TravelwithNJSteveandSue  5 месяцев назад

      We have been to the Majestic Resorts in Punta Cana 3 times (twice to the Mirage and once to the Elegance) often with groups of people, and no one got sick from the food! But we do follow some precautions. We only eat cooked food and the inside of fruit. So no salads! No sushi! We use bottled water in the rooms even to brush our teeth. (we do drink the tap water in the restaurants since supposedly it is filtered but you can ask for bottled water there too). We also take chewable Pepto-Bismol tables (2 twice a day) since that can reduce the chance of traveler's diarrhea. (check with your doctor to see if you can do that too). Following these precautions, we had no food related illness! Hope you have a great time in February. If you remember, post back a follow up when you return! Thanks for watching and for asking a question! Cheers!

      Stay away from unpeeled fruits such as apples, and uncooked veggies that can’t be or aren’t peeled, such as lettuce or tomato. Don’t overdo your eating or drinking. Do NOT drink tap water in your room, or even brush your teeth with it. Avoid raw fish and raw seafood. I got these tips from a video on here about what not to eat or drink in Punta Cana.

    Elegant resort attire for the women would consist of what? Dresses only or would nice pant suits or slacks and a nice blouse suffice.
    Seems if you're on vacation, you would want to be comfortable instead of wearing a dress to dinner every night.

    • @TravelwithNJSteveandSue

      Any of those choices would be fine! Most women had sun dresses on at night. The resort just does not want to see guests at dinner in cut off shorts and T-shirts! Thanks for watching!
