I was at this resort with the wife, adult son, and his girlfriend for 7 days the first week of Dec of 2022 in two suites on the family side. Plenty of pool/beach areas for a little privacy, a lot canopy/umbrella shade for the pool or beach area if needed, the food was fantastic, always clean and well organized, and the staff was extremely friendly. The resort always cleaned the seaweed every morning and it looked cleaner by mid-afternoon compared to the resorts on either side. Plenty of evening entertainment offered by the resort. Not a big drinker and they were watered down a bit; but, 100% fine with me because I got to try all kinds of specialty drinks I don't normally order without getting too buzzed. Seemed this resort was more for couples and young adults compared to kids and teenagers.
@@ky24779 There was a net for beach volleyball; but, it was an older crowd compared to spring breakers. It looked like the water would have too choppy for paddle boarding. There was places to rent jet skis, para-sailing, and excursions for site seeing or snorkeling. We did excursions for reef snorkeling and a trip out to Chichen Itza with a swim in a underground cenotes. Just plan on a 8-12 hour day for excursions and give a day to rest in-between. Plenty of indoor/outdoor music, pool foam party, and free activities or shows at night to keep you busy. We had no reason to leave the resort other than the two excursions.
I have been to Majestic in October of 2022 and April 2023. The beach was cleaned up from seaweed. We have even seen them out early with te tractor cleaning the beach.
@@angelicalawson3502 My son booked the vacation and we paid him for our portion. Drinks were included and available at the beach, pool, and restaurants. We had around $100 in $1 bills for tips at the bar, restaurants, and room service. The drinks at restaurants were A LOT stronger compared to the beach/pool drinks. There is also drinks in the rooms and a person does knock on your door late afternoon to deliver fruit and alcohol a few times.

I'm thinking of switching from Royalton CHIC to Majestic they have a swim out during my upcoming jan 18th departure dates. It's a special trip for my mom....how would you say it is to walk around, it looks huge but is it manageable or take like 10 to 15 minutes walk between things? Hopefully you'll see this before the suite is gone!! 😃
I loved this resort!!! The French restaurant was the best! The steak house was not good. I don't even know if it was steak that we were served. We almost booked here again but decided to try the excellence Playa Mujeres instead. The butler didn't really do anything. Loved how quiet the resort was and that we could always find a bed on the beach. The infinity pool was freezing when we went in November. And when we were there the beach was always being cleaned of seaweed.

You missed out on the buffet breakfast lol. That food in there is DELICIOUS! Soooooooo many options. I see they stopped the fire and heated rocks on the balcony 🥺. That's why it looks so bare bones when sitting outside
I have this booked already for 9 days in Feb. We have been going to this region every year since 2000 with 1 mistake and that was going to Punta Cana. We have stayed in Cozumel twice, Isla Mujeres twice (my fave thus far if you don't like all inclusive resorts), Riv. Maya, Cancun and Tulum. We stayed at the Valentin last April. The reason we chose this resort was the amazing reviews for the price and it's proximity to Isla Mujeres. We have never been to this area of Cancun. I am generally not a fan of modern Miami looking resorts while staying in Mexico. I prefer lush, tropical and Mexican style decor. Judging by your video, I would have to agree, the lobby area definitely needs something. They could start by adding some large tropical plants and a splash of color everywhere., perhaps some indoor and outdoor furniture and structures. All that being said, at the end of the day, it's the service, food, drink and cleanliness that matters most and this place, based on overall reviews scores high! Yes, it may not be a Secrets or Excellence caliber of hotel but then, I didn't pay a Secrets or Excellence price to stay here either.
Have you stayed at a Secrets or Excellence in Mexico? Which would you recommend? I recently made the mistake of staying in Punta Cana at the Majestic Mirage, everyone in my group hated it🤦🏻♀️
I have not stayed at Secrets. We were booked for Secrets Akumal and it was cancelled due to CoVid. But I know Secrets Maroma Beach and Akumal in the Riviera Maya are amazing!! You can't go wrong with either one.@@AHasNYC

Yeah, Majestic Elegance pools are just confounding. It's like they're trying to be contrarian ON PURPOSE, bwaaaaa ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaa! XD That aside, it genuinely looked like a breathtaking property! Perhaps a bit too generic and clinical for my personal tastes, but they definitely get a lot right: especially for the price tag you mentioned. Definitely need to do something about the seaweed, though.

When I was there last month it rained for 5 days straight......no sun at all smh. On the last day when we woke up, the sun was out and it stopped raining smh. Will be back next month though. Never seen the seaweed sit though 🤔. The two times I've been there they always clean it I mean hell, the tractors are in the area right before the beach lol
I got married here 2 months ago and I'm debating on weather or not to come back. It was our first time at a resort and have nothing to compare it to. I agree with all the negatives you listed. May I add, some of the bartenders don't like Latinos and focus on serving American... I think they don't realize we tip too lol. I didn't like that at all. My 2 cents.
When we were there (Nov 22) we found similar (brits). They were pretty rude to my wife in the mexican. Its the only place we didnt tip the whole time we were there.

James Lucas here from SD. Quick question . If a flyght from TJ to can Cancun is roundtrip 155.00 and a flyght from SD to Punta Cana is about 850.00 is thier a huge difference . P.s. Since you are like me and you love your Miami sheek. Thiers a restraunt in the Bohemian restraunt district called Funk Garcias? Since you love Sugar in Miami this place will blow it away. Thiers 5 different restraunts all under the same owner. It is a god damn must!!!!!!!
Definitely the same opinion as myself. Even though it was modern it also lacked color and or character. I too noticed the rather quick wear and tear for being so new. Kinda takes away from the luxury. The pools are a huge downside to this resort. But they make up for that with the good food and good cocktail list. It's a good resort for a certain group of people.
It would be great to see more of the regular side of the resort. We generally don’t book upgraded, club or preferred rooms and like places that don’t make you pay for experiences. TRS is a favourite as everything seems equal. We’d also like to visit the Catalonia Mujeres or new Riu.
Love the room, especially the soaking tub. The rooftop is sweet! The food and drinks make up for the seaweed and peeling paint. You look really good on camera with a bit more hair on the sides (:

So if that’s your thing and your in your 20s and want to party then would t say this is the place. This place is for a more adult loungyvibe, chill and top notch food and service.

There are a quite a few room plunge pools at all inclusives in Mexico but that is one of nicest I have ever seen.

I went to Riu Palace just few blocks away and the ice and frozen drinks were totally fine.

We just went to Hyatt Dreams in Punta Cana and it was incredible. Highly recommend.

I showed the entire property. The regular side has the same rooms but isn't adult only - that's it.
Riu Costa Mujeres is too sterile, lacked good entertainment, and lacked good food. Would be a downgrade from this hotel.
