Great resort for couples 💑.
Not for diehard food junkies.
Great place to reconnect or jump start a relationship that needs direction. Do it, the cost is amazingly low. We did not want to leave. Very safe resort with beautiful amazing staff who love Americans, Canadians and everyone else.

Been here 3 times. Going back next week. Hands down the best resort we been to. We also stayed at the Mirage which is equally great. We are picky eaters and we really enjoyed the food. You also have access to the other majestic resorts. People are amazing beach is stunning. What more can you ask for.

I was there in February and did not love it. The resort was stunning, we loved the pools, the beach and the drinks. The food though, one of the most important parts, was absolutely HORRIBLE. I have been to many resorts and never had this problem. It was inedible. We have 4 people in our group and everyone agreed.

I had the same experience. The eggs were runny, the meat underdone, the fruit hard and the pizza burnt with hardly any sauce and next to no cheese. I actually lost weight on vacation.

Is the liquor international or just domestic?
We stayed at the Royalton in Punta Cana and it was just OK, so I'm kinda turned off on the DR, but we might give this resort a hard look.
We just got back from the Majestic Colonial and are considering going back to either the colonial or elegance. I looked into Mexico, but the seaweed issue seems to be way worse there than DR. We also looked into Jamaica, but it just seems that you get more "bang for your buck" in DR. The majestic colonial is a fantastic resort.
@@heatherl4739 We went to Riu Palace Costa Mujeres and really liked it. That area of Mexico is known for not having much seaweed. There wasn't much at all there in December. There is a Majestic Elegance in Costa Mujeres, also.

@@heatherl4739nah, the majestic elegance costa mujeres is on another level....TRUST ME! They are the ONLY resort that has a TRUE private plunge pool at the top of the roof. Definitely better than DR. The best resort I've EVER stayed at though is secrets moxchè in Playa del carmen. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING beats that.....if you got about 6 or 7 grand....or more. I PROMISE you won't regret it 😏
Your video is way out of date. Those sky bars no longer exist. Out first time at the Elegance was back in 2015 and they did not exist. They are closed in and airconditioned.areas. They provide sandwiches, fruit and other snacks as well as drinks.

We all have different standards but after knowing a great hotel you always compare. I was in this hotel last year and it was the worst experience of my life. The rooms with leaks and humidity and the food quite bad. The service depends on the tip you offer, a real shame.
That hotel is a 2 Star, not 5.
Brown tap water, all rooms smelling like mold and food poisoning isn't something our family enjoyed.

I don't know what they're comparing it to but it's not a 5-Star hotel.
