Sgtr 2v fbo on a poop bama tune runs high 12s @109 and hes 255whp so its not far fetched but i will agree that vette needed to bring it to redline on the shifts and it most likely would have won
That C5 will eat that FBO 2v Mustang if it was driven right. I think everyone that knows cars knows this. I know it’s an old video but I had to say my peace. The guy in the mustang thinks it’s a close race lol I guess it is when the vette driver is shifting at 4500 rpm lol.

Three things... 1. Our pinned comment on the video explains the driver was still learning the car/ driving stick. 2. It was 100 degrees outside. 3. It's not a poor worn out Vette.
It’s ok man, don’t blame the car on its performance. I’m being realistic, I have/ had from 2v to 4v And the ls1 would spank them. The way the GT takes off on the vette is embarrassing. Corvette is way lighter too.
Jesus, racing an automatic Vette would've been ten times more accurate of a representations of a head-to-head of these cars, Vette driver completely handicapped the Vette's abilities with his shifting, if we can call it that. I'm not one for negative posts, but you can't compare these cars if you're not competent in driving one of them. Should've used an automatic, all those missed shifts and shifting way too early...
Love it my dudes as always! Mustang out there still got the gloves on! But, once you even put JUST a cam, exhaust and tune in the Vette, that will never happen again lol 😔. You guys KNOW I love my new edges but, the LS engine family is awesome. But at the same time, if you wanna put around 10 psi to the Stang and some drag radials, it would STILL hold it's own (until boost comes into play on the Vette then it's pretty un touchable by a stock bottem end new edge). I'm stoked for the next few months of videos fellas 👌. Sorry for the name change on my account btw. I just got tired of my name being blasted everywhere lol
The Corvette doesn't need anything, it was being shifted at 4,500 rpm 🤦♂️. The rev cut for an LS1 is 6,100. That car was SEVERELY handicapped by the driver shifting massively short. They need to rev. My stock 01 Z06 went 12.61 @ 113 in the 1/4 but if I shifted at 4,500 rpm I guarantee it would barely hit 100 mph.
@@Carguylogan I agree for sure. It wasn't being revved at all. But, the sn95 chassis is still good to build off of. They are roughly making around the same rwhp right now with the Vette being stock, curb weight is about the same, it should be a decent drivers race with the edge going to the mustang considering it has gears. I had a f body with a 408, I'd sure love to have a c6 zo6 but, they are not worth what people want for them. Mustangs around my area aren't either. $6000 for a shit box...smh...no thanks lol
@@lifeonadime4703 The Corvette was staying right behind the mustang while being shifted at 4,500 rpm lol. It will win easily with proper driving. A stock C5 6 speed is 310 wheel not 285, and still weighs less than a new edge. You have to look at average power in the powerband though, not peak numbers. A bigger engine like a 5.7L is going to make more average power than a 4.6L.
@@Carguylogan well the c5 makes more torque anyway which is what's gonna get you home. I forget 350 crank is about 310-312 whp. Still, that mustang does run hard and people give them alot of shit but, it doesn't take GOBS of hp to make them pretty quick. Lots of guys in the mid 12s with just those mods on radials and a good driver. Same for vettes with bolt ons and radials is true at our local track. The damn 10 speed regular cab f150s are killing everything out there right now though.... If I had $40,000 grand to blow....I know where I'd spend it
@@lifeonadime4703 Yea the 10 speeds are pretty quick but RUclips videos will fool you. The guys making the videos are running at MIR and Atco etc. Fast tracks. The guys who don't have fast tracks to run at aren't posting the videos lol. Realistically an E50 tuned and bolt on 10 speed EB single cab is still doing 110 or less in the 1/4. And the 5.0s are the same or slower. Fast for a truck with a few mods but still no faster than a stock C5 driven well, and obviously the truck has less than 0 chance in the Corvette's turf on track or in the mountains.
RCR said , "if you have an LS, you win... you win... " ... Which logically means... If you're going against one.... YOU LOSE.. ... (guess the second part)
Either way the corvette is the competitor to the cobra mustang camaro ss to mustang gt so im pretty impressed with the 2v even tho the vette didnt rev all the way out if this had been a 03 04 cobra or even a 96-01 cobra with fbo would gap a near stock vette

N/A definitely a C head but blown or turbo B head is just as good. Then again there are FR500 heads but the difference is negligible. All the 4v heads flow very well, which is why no one made aftermarket 4v heads. There are trick flow 2v heads, which are great and bring the flow up to b and c heads.
@@ranware2779 Well it was odd that you mentioned the Mk8 when it was the weakest 4v. Also nice dude. Its nice to see other 4v guys. I've had my Cobra for years and have put many miles and dollars into it, both on the street and the track. 4vs aren't cheap but they are fine engines, rev smoothly, and are very reliable and durable.
No. The Corvette was driven disgustingly bad, literally RACING the car using 3,000 - 4,500 rpm as the powerband. The average power between 3,000 and 4,500 rpm in a stock C5 is ~230 whp. The average power between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm where it should be driven is ~300 whp. So not only are you putting an average of 70 more hp to the tires, you are also extending each gear much further before having to shift to the next gear. It's a massive, massive difference. It's akin to one car being at HALF throttle while the other is full throttle. Uploading this video with such bad driving was a mistake. It doesn't show how the two cars compare at all.

Appreciate it! And like we stated were just trying to learn the car and feel it out. Don’t worry we’re gonna re race and do it at a track. We’ve only driven the car 3 times
So I don’t believe these races.... looks rigged asf. A 6spd ls1 vette regular traps like 107-109 easy. That manual is also way easier/ better to drive. I had a 01 z28 that I used to abuse new edge mustangs in even when it was stock I’d pull on Bolton 2vs. That car was a vert too. Wish I could drive the vette
Sgtr 2v fbo on a poop bama tune runs high 12s @109 and hes 255whp so its not far fetched but i will agree that vette needed to bring it to redline on the shifts and it most likely would have won
Ill bring my 01 GT FBO Auto on the Rematch! 😂
That C5 will eat that FBO 2v Mustang if it was driven right. I think everyone that knows cars knows this. I know it’s an old video but I had to say my peace.
The guy in the mustang thinks it’s a close race lol
I guess it is when the vette driver is shifting at 4500 rpm lol.
So close to having my mustang back on the road. Then its time for Nitrous express content.
Hell yeah! That’ll be dope
Everyone in the comments acting like they came from birth knowing how to drive manual 💀
Honestly thank you. I’ve only stressed it enough in the video and in the comments that I (corvette driver) wasn’t the best and yet that was like the first few days of driving that car. People honestly just love to say shit negatively on the internet because they feel better about themselves smh
@@RatchetWrenches don’t listen to anyone enjoy your car how you see fit my brother and I can 100 percent bet you already have improved driving by tons in the last 11 months
@@thicok4555 definitely won’t be listening to them! And yes for sure I’ve gotten a lot better with it! Thanks 🙏
Love these type of vids, need more on RUclips like this, I like it’s some classics too
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
2v sounds to shift early too could also powershift. They both shifting like grannies
Haha I wasn't granny shifting in the 2v man I was going to red line and shifting fast. I'm not bringing my car well into redline on a stock engine. The vette was short shifting.
@@RatchetWrenches yeah the vetted for sure, I was just going off of sound on the 2v cam audio can be deceiving lol
But some power shift would help :p good shit though makes me excited to finish my pi swap.
I guess the audio was deceiving cause I definitely was riding the gears all the way out. PI swap is a must if you don't have one for sure
@@RatchetWrenches hell yeah! If you guys ever get your hands on a pi swap bolted mustang you should do a comparison with this 2v to show how well that compression bump holds up.to the new edge
Tbh if you don’t know how to drive you shouldn’t title it “ what’s faster full bolt on 2v or corvette “ the corvette would destroy any NA 2v
Vette would’ve put busses on the stang if it shifted at 6200 like it’s supposed too
This honestly should not even be a race… The guy in the corvette just needs a little more driving experience. Those 2v mustangs will not fall out of a tree…
Agreed we pinned the comment stating Austin wasn't fully comfortable with the car and barely drives manual
Worn out ls1 in that vette. My C5 would destroy 2v and 3v including my 3v. And most 5.0 N/A. Poor vette
Three things... 1. Our pinned comment on the video explains the driver was still learning the car/ driving stick. 2. It was 100 degrees outside. 3. It's not a poor worn out Vette.
The C5 is the most user friendly sport car to drive. That’s a clapped out vette.
@@georgiaboy9495 alright Georgia Boy
It’s ok man, don’t blame the car on its performance. I’m being realistic, I have/ had from 2v to 4v
And the ls1 would spank them. The way the GT takes off on the vette is embarrassing. Corvette is way lighter too.
@@georgiaboy9495 I didn't blame the car. But yes the vette is lighter and faster.
I love mustangs, my favorite is the 2000 SVT cobra R
That's one of a kind mustang right there!
Edit:.... but at least you're still alive... ... ... ¿are you?
I have a 2v and can assure you that corvette would gap lmao dude just shifted when the stang did lol
Yeah the vette driver wasn't fully committed in each gear
Y’all both need work on speed shifting but hey y’all have so much time to learn love both the cars btw and love the videos
In the mustang I need to improve my 4th to 5th shift but I think I have every other gear down. But thank you we appreciate it!
Only 280whp with a cam?
289 to the tire yeah. These cars don't make much unless you throw some boost at it
Either way the corvette is the competitor to the cobra mustang camaro ss to mustang gt so im pretty impressed with the 2v even tho the vette didnt rev all the way out if this had been a 03 04 cobra or even a 96-01 cobra with fbo would gap a near stock vette
Why do you keep putting it in neutral bro
Driver didn't drive manual much at all during the time of the race
Bro you need to install a MGW short throw makes the C5 way easier to drive. I hate that long at shifter. Every time I get new vette short throw gets installed. That C5 would’ve destroyed that mustang.
We ended up selling the car but yes short throw shifters do make a huge difference I agree!
Do it from a dig
We will it’s just hard to find a spot when you’re not at a track
@@RatchetWrenches dead stop on the high way 😜
thank you! this roll racing stuff is dumb. if you want rolls, go to the bakery!
@@mmmmmMuffinz roll racing demonstrates the power of the car. Dig is a drivers race roll is a cars race
@@mercury0214 yeah but thats ALL roll racing demonstrates. Horsepower. It completely takes away other factors like torque and traction which matter significantly in a real drag race. Any idiot can buy a car with a lot of horsepower and floor it on the highway. That's lame and boring. It takes true knowledge of cars to make a car hook and go straight and go fast from a dig.
that 3rd to 4th gear grind I have in my 97 gt that I bought a few months ago. is why my synchros are f!cked🤦♂️.
You lost me at 288 to the rear wheel on the mustang. Full bolt on. And you only got 288? Lol somebody did their math wrong or don't know what they're doing.
How lol? The car stock is only 225whp and 260hp to the crank. 288whp is where it’s sitting with the supporting mods and what the dyno said. FBO doesn’t add much power unless you boost it like we ended up doing and now pushes over 450whp on low boost.
I'm sure it's the gear and both drivers shifting slow, but man these runs seem slow af.
After watching the video I charge my mind. It's just the guy not driving the vette to its max, while the stang guy is.
In any case nice 2v
Yeah we pinned the comment on this video stating we were still getting used to driving the vette. Mustang was going to red line or just about every shift. Thanks, we're installing a turbo kit on the mustang now you should go and check out the build if interested!
C5 owner needs driver mod

Thats the 2v baby
Yes sir!
Kinnelon, Mexico Jersey. Route el dos eighty 7 lololol. At least it looks like that part of it.
😂😂😂
Yessir 2v you can make the best power with
Hell yeah. We're gonna be making a whole lot more we just installed a turbo kit
The new edge is so beautiful
Thank you!
What we learned here…. The corvette is faster
How in the world are you only making 288 in the stang? Lol
Bolt ons, these 4.6’s dont make much power without forced induction. Now she’s pushing 458whp on low boost. But unfortunately the newedge generation stangs made low power even with FBO
@@RatchetWrenches I have a new edge, I know they're pretty slow. I have done everything you guys did in this video, had bugger TB and slightly bugger injectors and im pushing 300
Damn that’s pretty impressive
Thanks 👍🏼
Ain’t no way in HELL that mustang is stock. List your mods. Because a stock C5 vs a stock new edge GT isn’t even a competition. C5 always wins
There’s plenty of videos we have with the mods lists. But it’s 288rwhp in this video
He let's go of the throttle to let the Mustang pass... Don't give these kids hope. Or go ahead if they're that dumb... it's a casket on wheels anyway. .. . NONE of the Mustang GTs can hang with the c5. .. Maybe the c4. .. You've got to be 'Ford fan' to believe this.. and you'll never move out of that trailer you're smelling. CAMAROS eat those.
2V is king. Pretty sure my bolt on 96 GT Mustang would be a good race for that silver C5.
They really are fun cars especially with a little boost or NOS
King???????? Not of the modular family their not 🤣 mark viii 4v will do damage either version of the 2v npi or pi even the npi engine with pi heads stop the cap... they do sound good thoo
@@ranware2779 Well Mk8s had B heads, which flow well and are great for forced induction (I would know I have a blown 97 Cobra) but as for the best 4v, that would be any of them with C heads (99-04 Cobra, Mach 1s, etc), they have better mid range than b heads but flow just as well up to.
@@benjamins9121 🤔 you said that to me too say what again? I have a gt swapped one and building a teksid terminator
@@ranware2779 Well it was odd that you mentioned the Mk8 when it was the weakest 4v. Also nice dude. I kept the Teskid block in mine with a kellogg crank, manley rods, diamond pistons, polished C heads, polished b upper, vortech ti trim v1, with custom ground cams, among other things, face plated T56, IRS swapped, coilovers, full MM suspension etc etc too much to list. Its nice to see other 4v guys. I've had my Cobra for years and have put many miles and dollars into it, both on the street and the track. 4vs aren't cheap but they are fine engines, rev smoothly, and are very reliable and durable.
I would be impressed if the C5 was also full bolt on but its stock so.....
And the guy was shifting the c5 like under 5k rpm lol
@@Hugo350R id love to run that 2V. I wish he wasn't far from.me lol
The corvette seems to be backing off

Let me drive the vette and see what happens granny shifting and shifting way early
Nah
The SN-95 kicked ass!!!!!! www.youtube.com/@OldMustang
I love to see vettes lose against mustangs,ty
My pleasure
Pshh rematch and let me drive that vette
Sure thing boss
I dont think that 2v would walk that vette jus sayin im a mustang guy too
Correct vette should've won but the driver wasn't at experienced driving stick shift
There not even on the same level
60 hit 2nd gear that vette should pull him
