I miss sleeping on my stomach so much, as i got older my neck just wont allow it, but that was the best sleep of my life. I have 3 daughters in their 20's who sleep on their stomachs and all of them complain about neck and back pain. I tell them to change their sleeping positions while they're young and so they don't create permanent problems.

Indeed, and to make matters worse when you're asleep most of your pain receptors go offline, it's why I was able to chip my own teeth biting down at night without feeling it. If I were awake at the time, I'd never be able to do that without intense pain. At least the one for the low back can be tied there so that it's not going anywhere as you roll around, but I personally need something for the neck more than anything else.
The only thing I can think of is that perhaps if you've got this right you won't roll around a bunch.

So grateful to have found you guys! Laid down Saturday night and for the 1st time in my life (just turned 40) I suddenly had crazy hip pain. Haven't been able to sleep for 2 days and have had to use a cane. I'm going through your videos looking for everything I can (also watched your video on how to properly use a cane as I had zero clue.) One thing though is my mattress is super old and very recently started giving me lower back pain. As someone who hasn't had health insurance for 20 years I'm grateful you two share so much information online for free, especially for those of us who've been left behind, medical insurance wise.

I've been using these techniques with success for a few years now, pretty sure I picked up a few of them from you guys in a previous video. Thanks so much for all the helpful tips over the years. When I found you I could barely walk even with regular care. I have gone from spending the day in bed to being able to do light duty work, after 14yrs of trying to get a diagnosis. I had all the MRI's and stuff, but doctors couldn't figure out anything for me. The internet, people willing to share knowledge to effect a positive change in the world and good research skills have saved the day! A heartfelt thanks to both of you and your team. Your videos offered significant pain relief. I endured almost all of those years without medication for pain. It's such a pleasure to be able to feel something good... fully, because pain can't rob me of my blessings anymore. I am already saving to get myself the bed. Winning one would really help our Christmas!

Hello Bob and Brad. In several of your sleep videos I see when in the stomach position your feet hanging over and off the bed or mattress. Most people being under sheets tucked in at the foot of the bed or with tight footboards cannot hang their feet and sleep on their toes or with angled feet. Recommend you address any issues arising from this foot position.

. I tried doing some of the exercises, for sciatica, you two showed in another video and I got stuck on my stomach on the floor. Thank God I had my phone in my pocket or I'd have been screwed. I hurt so bad that I literally cry from the pain. I had what I assumed was sciatica probably 5 years ago that was persistent for a good 3 years. It just went away. Just over two weeks ago my lower back went out, gets to where I can not move. The sciatica pain just joined in about 3 days ago. I hope someone sees this and can give me advice that works. A brace or something.

      Hi 👋 from Australia 🇦🇺
Can’t talk about if your back is out., .,(I Wld get a scan and go from there,, see yr doctor., )
But re the sciatica., I got dragged by a horse (a storm came in and lightning spooked my horse and she reared and I got unseated and fell Off with my foit in the stirrup) .. she galloped with me attached for a couple of miles home.
I Cldnt move for 2 weeks but I actually didn’t break anything and I had a hard riding hat on which helped when my head bounced home,
.. the trip did however shake things up a bit., but from time to time I get sciatica especially if I’m
Driving Long distances without lumbar support
Anyhow I’ve tried them all.., chiropractors, physio, osteopaths, even a surgeon
(I didn’t use him) but In desperation I sought out an acupuncturist., a real one with real needles not the laser-type one. The guy works magic ., it took a few sessions to fix it but he did... not thinking .. I had to drive 10 hours a couple of weeks ago,, and for the first time in yrs my sciatica blew up really really badly ,, so much pain and nauseated., anyhow I went back to a purist acupuncturist., took 2 visits over 5 days but it’s gone. I have to go back I eve more
      I swear by acupuncturists..
So I’m just a normal person ., don’t have any medical degrees but I can only say what helped me., so maybe you cld try acupuncture coz I found everything else useless,, !

I think the most important thing is to see a doctor, gets scanned and get a confirmed diagnosis, you can easily mess up a self diagnosis as so many conditions, especially pain causing ones, can be SO similar it’s simply too hard to differentiate them. Since your symptoms are so severe and dangerous/able to immobile you, it’s crucial you get a doctor involved and a clear diagnosis.
Just looking up Sciatica on Wikipedia it says 90% of cases are caused by disc herniation, so that’s something you can’t ignore or self treat. You might have an underlying condition causing it that’s degenerative, if so you want to know so you can try and slow down the degeneration. The wiki also mentions surgery is sometimes necessary for cases that don’t heal in 6 weeks.
I know doctors are extremely expensive and I also avoid seeing them if I can for that reason, but your case sounds like it requires a professional involved to assure you properly recover.

I’ve found that the separations the three seat cushions provide act as a natural wave to support my back….and my arm can slip into the “valley” between the pillows when my golfer’s elbow (actually leaf-raking elbow!) flares up. Interesting
But so much stuff to do to go to sleep.
    I have c spine issues.
I don’t think I would put all that in bed with me.
Oh my! I wear a soft cervical collar at night.
My body seems to let me know if I am in a good position.
I will try a little of this. Thank you!

I'm curious as to whether you have any videos for people with Harrington rods in their spine that were implanted to correct scoliosis. I have issues with sciatica lately (also sleeping positions) and all of the exercises and stretches I've been doing haven't seemed to work when my spine is fused to two metal rods. Would be great to see you do some videos for people such as myself.

I don't think that sleeping on your stomach is rare... I have slept like that my whole life, with one leg bent and the other straight. I do have low back and cervical pain, but it's soooo hard to change that habit. I managed to keep the position even when 8 month pregnant 😅 creating a U with pillows to park my belly in the middle.
I would love it if you could get into more detail on healthy options to sleep on your stomach. Stomach sleeping makes you feel protected and it's very hard to let go of that feeling 😪

Funny video guys! Amazing I get any sleep at all-I do it all wrong....

  • @mddell58
    @mddell58 2 года назад +1

    NO!!
Do NOT ever sleep on RIGHT SIDE.
When you sleep on RIGHT side, your stomach is higher up, literally ABOVE your throat. That allows for any liquids to trickle out, while you're trying to sleep. ALWAYS lay on your left side. Doing so will also allow the 'pocket'
to cradle the heart where it should naturally be.
(Don't forget to place a pillow between knees, OR thighs.)
You'll discover exactly how thick it should be, & whether it should be four to six inches high.
HUGE, FIX for any acid reflux pain, issues (dental enamel chipping off, etc.)
Sleep well..... NOW that you know this. 😇
