I'm a hardcore bass angler and had never caught a musky...until this mournin cranking a bluegill pattern whopper plopper, and this wasn't just any musky, he was 47 inches!!! Incredible catch of a lifetime and I think I may start targeting these awesome predators.
Epic" Trip!!! and that Triple Gainer Back Flip into the Net Scores a Perfect 10 'n' the Musky Olympics along w/ boatside Chomp!!! Way 2 Go" from Idaho!!!!
Great vid. I dont use topwaters much, but I'm thinking about picking up a couple Plopper type lures just to use in really dirty water. On tough dirty water days when I can hardly get a bite, I've tried using bait only to have them mangle the float with some regularity. Maybe Ploppers would be the ticket.
Funny, I don't recall ever reading about vertical jigging a glidebait on the surface, as a method of doing a figure 8, in the pages of Musky Hunter magazine. But if it works, it works. Very fun and enjoyable video to watch.
The Lonesome Fisherman lol I've seen these dumb fish do some dumb things. I have had a few take a shot at a bait just flopping on the surface after I got sick of figure eight-ing them!
Holy cow, that snapper was almost bigger than the musky...we've got a couple like that in some of the local ponds. Pretty terrifying when they are almost the size of a sewer cover
Kevin Wimmer We had 2 things going against us. We were out of state, so I'm not sure what the protocol is for tags like that where we were and we didn't notice it until we had pretty much committed to releasing the fish. I'll have to do some research on those types of tags and what should be done with them specifically for where we were fishing.

@@AnglingAnarchy Yeah they'll blow your mind with some of their antics.
Would it hurt the action of the bait, If you changed hook size to one size bigger?
John Metz I think it would be ok if you just went up one hook size.
Nice Show!
Smith's Fishing Outdoors Thank you!
Longest figure 8 ever!! And it paid off!!!
William Michlig I was shocked it actually worked after that long!

Do you guys not remove the tags and then turn them into your states game department?
