I've caught only two musky in my life ! BOTH on the Flambeau Flowage. The first was below the Dairy Land Dam ( 36 inches ) and the second one at BIG FALLS ! That musky went 52 inches on a Top-Water Buchar lure ! I believe the record musky was taken out of the Chippewa River ! ??? At least you caught one nice one and the black bear swimming was cool to see ! If I kept losing fish, I'd be sharpening those points on them hooks more !

I’m on pioneer lake, which is pretty decent for Musky, but there are some better ones nearby. If you happen to be in the Vilas county area we should link up for a day. I’ll GoPro you guys from my kayak n maybe learn something lol.

What net do you guys use these days? I have a frabill power catch which will handle any fish - wide and super deep but just heavy and too much drag scooping a fish. However it seems like what you might be using too.
i saw my first mid 50’s musky last night, it followed my bait in 3 times and i caught it on video! scary cause it was off of my dock right where i swim
I’ve had a rough year kinda. Only 1 but it was a 48 1/2” beast. Broke my rod, she swam under the boat and out I couldn’t keep me pole from touching the side of the boat. But I landed her. Sucks cause my pole while lifetime guarantee gonna take 7 months to ship cause back orders and Covid.
Curious!! I see you guys use clips to tie on Lures. Is that just in Dirty Water or Windy Days. An if you use full time. Have you notice it affect bite Ratio? Thnks For Your Time!!
Has anyone fished the Wisconsin River near Wausau for Muskies? It’ll be my first time fishing there and any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated😄
I use a tranx 400 ahg and when I throw a 10 inch Poseidon I notice that it does not dive as deep as it did on my old reel is this because my retrieve is to fast or is it because of the size of the Poseidon
Tranx 400 is like a 10000 size Stella haha I catch 50lb plus a yellow tail kingfish on 5000 size Stella, 3000 spin or 200 baitcaster is more then enough for large musky

1st guide I ever had taught us to time our casts so we wouldn't distract a musky with 2 lures arriving at the boat at the same time.

Well of course they are, but not large enough for the 4-16 oz lures we throw. Try throwing those with 20lb braid, good luck.
