Let me just say this. A lot of people may be skeptical of what Matt and Tim say regarding upgrading hardware. When Matt says he has learned hard lessons, so have I. He is 100% correct. I don't care how premium the bait is or how much you've paid for it, I've been down that road of thinking that the lure that you've just dropped $20 or $30 on must have a good set of hooks and rings. They don't. Just get over that hurdle. Get those hyper-wire rings. Learn about hook sizes and wire gauge and make sure that if you're throwing a lure that requires a treble , that the hook won't bend out, even if you're throwing it on a moderation action rod. It's not a glamorous part of fishing, to study treble hooks, or spending evenings swapping out hardware, and it certainly isn't cheap, but good god it's important. Big bass will make you look like a chump if you don't at least try and set things up in your favor.
And not just treble hooks, when a potential PB bends out a hook on a finesse jig because that’s what you chose to throw instead of a proper jig you’ll feel the pain all the same. I’m at the point now where my float and fly hooks will be 7/0...lol
Totally agree with you! It will matter when you hook a giant! We spend so much time trying to hook one and you have to be setup for success or risk the nightmares of loosing it!
Big difference between fish that will bulldog into cover and one that you can let run for hundreds of yards. I’ve caught two and a half foot long carp on 1 lb test but that wouldn’t translate well into bass fishing.
A famous CA Delta guy used to say "Would you rather eat a hot dog or Tbone steak" Andy Cuccia. Matt taught me if you can throw a senko....you can throw a swimbait.
Matt I hope you read this comment. Your passion and knowledge for fishing is amazing. I am a new angler who has only been serious about fishing for 3 to 4 months and your information and technical breakdowns just blow my mind. I had to watch this video twice just to begin to begin to digest that much information. Thank you very much for pouring your heart out as well as dumping the knowledge in your brain out so that we can get this information. 100% my favorite video I’ve watched around fishing ever! Thanks man really earned my subscription and thumbs up.
Unreal. I’ve never thrown a big swim bait in my life yet I just watched an hour and a half video on them. The knowledge Matt has is truly incredible, thank you Matt.
"IT'S NOTHING, BUT IT'S EVERYTHING!" Only Matt can make solid fishing advice sound like a Ghandi quote! Pure gold! 🤣 Curious if you guys have tried out Hog Farmer's Swinging EWG Hooks? It's become my favorite way to throw a Keitech! The hook swings free from the head & gives it an extra deadly wobble, & allows you to rig it weedless which is pretty much a must for most of my home lakes. But hands down the biggest advantage of the free swinging hook is that the fish can't use the weight as leverage to throw the hook! Once you stick em, they stay stuck! Vital feature! Those hooks with a 4.3" Keitech have landed me 2 Muskie (35" & 42") & a 4lb largemouth out of a lake where both Muskie & good size bass are a rare sight!
I started throwing bigger Keitechs this year, (5.8") alone & on flashy swimmers, aiming for Muskie specifically & have yet to get a bite. I stuck both my 35" & my 42" Muskie on the 4.3" Keitech rigged on a 4/0 Hog Farmer EWG Swinger! That setup is literally like my golden goose these days! I used to throw a simple Keitech on a weighted EWG hook & did well, but once I found these Hog Farmer hooks my hook set ratio went from maybe 75% to EASILY 95%! They not only vastly increase the action of the swimbait, but that free swinging hook makes a night & day difference between a good stick vs. a missed hook set! From somebody who spends A LOT of $ on different baits/lures, those Hog Farmer EWG Swinger hooks with a 3.8"-4.3" Keitech are hands down the best $ I've ever spent! I've lost track of the number of times I ended up never setting that rod down thru the whole day, just nailing em back to back all day long without ever touching my other 5 setups! #JustTryIt #ThankMeLater

Hands down this is the best Swimbait video I have ever seen. You went above and beyond anything I would have thought. You crushed this video and I will prolly watch this again to pick up on things I might have missed. I am pretty fresh in the Swimbait game. so I really appreciated this video. Love these big bait videos Matt thank you

Thank you Matt for for the countless hours spent accruing that knowledge you just shared with us. Felt like I was sitting in the boat with you. Looking forward to some Chick swimbaiting videos.
I just got into swimbaits this year. My buddy has been throwing these for years. Especially the bull shad he always has it tied on. I started off small and fairly cheap I got some Arashi ones, the megabass one he had , the googan one and some of the spro small ones. I have had the best year of fishing I've ever had since I was stationed in NY with the military. The amount of 5+ pounders has been insane. I live up north near Boston so 5 is a good size but I even snuck in two 7s and an 8. This video shows me even better ways to fish the baits, TB keep up the good work you guys EASILY deserve 1M subscribers can't believe your content is free!

This video is awesome! I appreciate y’all taking time to help us pond guys out! I think a lot of us that don’t have the opportunity to fish lakes keep watching just because we love it but it feels like a lot of times it doesn’t apply . This was great!
Thanks for the tips Matt! Last Monday I watched this video, then proceeded to buy a few of your suggested baits. Went out 3 days later and stuck a 3 3/4lb largemouth on the S-Waver in Bluegill. What a blast. Thanks for being the best bass fishing channel on RUclips!
@@tacticalbassin thank you so much! Love all your guys' content. I think I'm gonna give some family members a hint on the Christmas gifts I want this year to support you guys ❤
I am always super appreciative of these videos. I grew up fishing since I could walk. My first ever spinning pole was earned by weed whacking the field next to the bait shop in Lodi Wisconsin, the owner let me pick one out. My first Lure was a rooster tail. My papa had a camper right on the grade of Lake Wisconsin. My first bass was off a bobber and worm right off the dock. All other fish besides bluegill and crappie were off the rooster tail. We went out for the striper run. Now as I'm older I've caught pike, bass, walleye, and large crappie off a CS Lure fire tiger inline spinner. Just an oversize rooster lol. I am just now reaching out to new lures and baits. Your videos, as I mentioned, are greatly appreciated because even as someone growing up fishing, I am learning new things. It's opened up a huge range for me. Just the other day I caught my first fish on a crank bait a cheap ozark trail one lol. My favorite is top water, I can catch off frogs it feels just natural for me. Thank you so much for all the information you give and content you make. It has allowed me to bond more with my sons, their liking to fishing has blown up watching your videos as well. Again thank you.
I've learned a bunch of new info from watching tactical bassin vids. Really enjoy watching them and putting what they say to use and it works....... Thanks guys
Matt, Tim and you have pushed me to grow as an angler. I’m looking hard at beckoning a fishing guide here in Minnesota. There is a lot of work to be done. I’d give anything to spend time learning from you two. Thank you for all your knowledge.

I am so ready to get into the swimbait game I’m gonna start with some smaller stuff until I can get my dedicated set up but you guys have a way of really making a guy comfortable and confident to try something
Tacticalbassin is hands down the best there is out there...I learned a long time ago that whatever you guys say is dead on facts and anyone who disagrees are just like the ones that hit the thumbs down and just jealous because they never catch fish and are sitting in a corner pouting with their thumb in their mouth
Best channel, no BS or boring tone All facts and very interesting and attention keeping. Once I can go fishing I’ll use these techniques I just bought a brand new swimbait
I had a revelation the other day. We always say the "Light Trout" color works so well but doesn't actually look like anything. Well it actually does - I think it's short for "lightning trout". A rare bass delicacy
I wish I could be this passionate about ANYTHING…but it’s genuinely infectious. I’m gonna be ordering the banana & DEF experimenting with the red hook mod. Your depth of knowledge on these and all other bait vids I’ve watched is beyond impressive.
Matt, I think... No, I know that I love you! Not scared to say that to a real man! I just had a shit day on a over pressured So Cal Lake the other day! I was thinking of going big for some time... now, after watching this ( and many other of the TB video’s) I am now going 100% all in with large swimbait fishing! I have my lil secret float tube reservoirs ( not even Aaron Martens would divulge ) and I do spend some time with my friends in Tennessee.... that said, on these So Cal Res ... I am now convinced and comfortable to take on the large swimbait/ glide bait approach! I appreciate both you and Tim more than words can reflect! You guys are a true fishing resource! Thanks again!🏄🏼♂️🎣👍
Y'all are hands down the best most informative bass fishermen on RUclips. Thank y'all for everything y'all do! Only complaint i have is y'all dropping all this knowledge is making all these lures go out of stock on tackle warehouse 🤣 my wishlist on their is never ending
“ hmmm... this vid is pretty long. But who cares if I’m late to school!!!! I was watching TacticalBassin anyway. Awesome vid Matt I really wanted to see one of these!
The video I’ve been waiting for years to get and Matt killed it. Seeing how passionate you are about these baits is what makes me keep trying for the huge bass. Keep up the amazing content.
Videos like these are the reason you guys will always be the go to channel when it comes to anything to do with bass fishing. Can't thank you guys enough for the time you to take to put videos out like these and the amount I've learned over the years.
The amount of quality info you you guys give out on a consistent basis is priceless. Hopefully one day in the future I can get on a boat with you and pick your brain. I can’t thank thank you enough for how much you’ve stepped up my fishing game 🙏🏻👍🏻
That was the best hour and a half I spent NOT fishing and learning about fishing. I have two of the Savage gear bluegills and they are fantastic. Awesome video and I appreciate you guys helping me to be a better fisherman.
This might be the BEST bass fishing seminar I´ve ever watched, not just swimbait related, but Bass fishing in general. Thanks for spreading knowledge in depth. Going to Bacaracc next month, this is pure GOLD.
Took me two days but I made it through it!! Took a S waver 200 out today and stuck a 3,5,7 lber! Buddies at the ramp couldn’t believe I had two rods on the deck 168/200 same color! How long ago was it y’all turned me on to that bait and I’ve never met anyone that throws it! Love the videos!
Absolutely phenomenal video! The MOST I've ever learned from a single video. Really glad you take the time to make these and give them to us for free. You could easily charge for this content. Thank you Matt and Tim 💚
So much information, took me up to now to watch and digest it, WOW!! Keep up the great content, a real channel dedicated to teaching and fishing...not like those other channels that started out fishing and now doing everything else besides fishing 🎣
I just got my first S waver fish!! I'm so pumped. I'm in northern New Jersey on a small lake. I threw it up into shallow water right by this rock that I know holds fish. It must have landed right on his head because the lure hit the water and BAM. It was a big fish for my pond about 3.5 pounds. Thank you. You guys gave me the confidence to throw big baits.
I love your guys videos. For someone like me who has recently started serious bass fishing, been at it about a year now, the videos are like collage classes. Thank you for all the great info!!
I know what you mean when it comes to putting everything in your favor that you have control of. I have been doing Sturgeon and Stripers for the past 30 years and I know the feeling all too well. I will only take a few people out with me anymore because it is too hard on me when a 50lb fish doesn't get to the boat because of a shitty knot or a cracked guide on a rod. There are plenty of things that can happen beyond your control, but there is no excuse to for a weak link that could have been eliminated. Thanks for your video. That was as good as they come. I didn't plan on watching the entire video, but I could not walk away from it . Great job
This is probably the fourth time I've seen this video and I always learn something new. Thank you for making such an in depth video on my favorite way to catch a bass!
I just wanted to let you know that your content/videos are some of the most informative I’ve came across on this platform. I certainly appreciate all of the time and effort you all put into it as the end result is definitely a reflection of that! Keep it up fellas!!!
Hey Matt! I’m from Wisconsin and I visited Florida and caught a 8.5 pounder (my pb) in a pond on the ganteral! Now watching this video I know why I caught that fish!
I been bass fishing 28yrs and I'm glad these dudes came along and to teach me more than what I ever knew...if you can't learn the basics by listening and watching Matt and Tim, then bass fishing ain't for you!.
I'm so glad you guys did the hook size by bait listing down there! That's something I've always wanted to see but didn't want to hassle you guys about.
Thats it, Matt Allen I know back, So long no one, I mean it no one make such awesome informative and detail video about swim baits. Thank you so much and great great job.
You nailed it. Jealousy. I’ve actually heard other channels refer to them and try to knock them thinking they’re sponsored or this and that. Who cares if they are. If a company chooses to sponsor someone, it’s because they’ve EARNED IT. If had 350k subs I’d hope a company would recognize and throw some $ or discounts my way.
Made perfect sense when Matt said that if you’re fishing out in the open its giving the bass too much time to observe if its real or fake. Ive never thought about that until now.
I’m so late to this, but never to late to learn something new, and I just learned a tremendous amount from one video. I was new to bass fishing at the time.. well, still am after watching this. With some guidance I got a nice bait caster, and rod setup, and started fishing for bass. I don’t want to name drop on the swim bait, because it’s an awesome bait, but I didn’t upgrade the rings/hooks.. I hooked into a beast largemouth, and it must of happened when I set the hook.. within arm’s reach of a dream come true, and one last tug, she was gone. I lifted the bait out of the water, and the hook was long gone. The ring was just dangling like a limp noodle. If I knew then what I know now.. double split rings, stronger rings/hooks.. I’d have an exact replica of her on my wall, and I wouldn’t have to carry around that ugly feeling. Every second of this video counted. You just gained a subscriber hands down. Thank you.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I have been wanting to try the different types of swim baits. You really have helped me with more knowledge in this category! THANK YOU!!!!!
I’ve always been one to not keep up with RUclips channels but I must admit you guys know your sh@t! I have built so much confidence in fishing larger profiles since watching this video. I will admit that I had my doubts especially fishing them in my region, but I stuck with it and am starting to produce on glide baits. Can’t thank you guys enough Mat and Tim
@@tacticalbassin When you guys talked about playing on the fishes natural instincts/curiosity I literally witnessed it with my own eyes on an 8” savage glide swimmer. (Granted the fish weren’t big) I watched him follow it upto the surface he was hesitant to go for it gave it a quick twitch like the bait looked right back at the bass, he just moseyed on over to it and CHOMP! Shortly after I got a second one way out in the distance. Literally like You guys said in this clip he had to decide wether he wanted it or was gonna leave it. Thank you for posting so much informative information. Also wanted to add I’ve been doing this all from the bank. If I can make it happen anyone can you just have to be confident and keep trying
I can't begin to tell you guys how much I enjoy your videos. You guys are my daily go to on all things fishing. Thank you thank you thank you. please keep it up, don't underestimate what you contribute to the community. Much love boys, tight lines.
Gold as always guys, having a hard time on my home waters but your techniques have turned what would of been terrible days into not so bad days on the water. Appreciate everything you two do!

Never done any swimbait fishing but I watched the whole thing anyways so ill be prepared when i do. Thanks for sharing
This Will defenatly be a saved video to be watched over and over. Just so much info to absorb.
“ hmmm... this vid is pretty long. But who cares if I’m late to school!!!! I was watching TacticalBassin anyway. Awesome vid Matt I really wanted to see one of these!
That's the video I always wanted. Only 1 person to do it.......Matt Allen! Thank you
The video I’ve been waiting for years to get and Matt killed it. Seeing how passionate you are about these baits is what makes me keep trying for the huge bass. Keep up the amazing content.
Talk about timely! Ordered my first swimbait setup last week and it arrived in the mail today. Thanks for the awesome vid - incredibly helpful.
Videos like these are the reason you guys will always be the go to channel when it comes to anything to do with bass fishing. Can't thank you guys enough for the time you to take to put videos out like these and the amount I've learned over the years.
Thanks Matt! Your seemingly natural teaching ability is amazing
I bought a baitsanity 9.5 inch yesterday I’m so hyped my dad thinks I’m insane but imma catch a 10 pounder 1 day
You can do it if you put your mind to it!
@@kybassfishing856 yep 😂 .I hope

I love the full seminars the Jig Full Seminar is by far my FAVORITE video
Pond love😁 Thanks for looking out for the Pond creatures. Great content as always
Ah my favorite kind of TB video. Long-form instructional.
Just started watching this on my phone... but now I’ve hit pause and will go watch it on my TV!
What an amazing swimbaits class. Thank you for your valuable time and information.
God Bless you always, Timothy
I absolutely love the long seminar on swim baits! So much valuable information provided. Thanks Matt!
Thats it, Matt Allen I know back, So long no one, I mean it no one make such awesome informative and detail video about swim baits. Thank you so much and great great job.
The 6 dislikes got to be bots who doesn't like this simply don't like fishing
@@420RyanBruce accidently clicked probably. maybe their kids after they put them in time out went on and disliked out of spite haha.
Exactly.
Thank you.
Thank you Matt! Love the seminars! This is just the confidence boost I need!
I have to try way too hard not to empty my wallet on Tackle Warehouse three days a week🤣🤣🤣
@@420RyanBruce Bahahahahahahahaha!!!!! fax bro, that happens way too much and u just know it was because of their vid! 🤣🤣🤣
Way to stick with it Nick! We're here to help and we love this kind of feed back. Successes like yours are what keeps us going week after week 👊
Thank you Philip for the kind words! We appreciate your support 👊🏻
I think this might just be the best video from you guys yet, I soooo want to get into big bait fishing.
Gold as always guys, having a hard time on my home waters but your techniques have turned what would of been terrible days into not so bad days on the water. Appreciate everything you two do!
