While true, most people in my class who failed were absolutely fit enough to make it through. They all failed from the knowledge tests. Learn what you can before going in, makes it easier and also saves you long nights trying to learn knots that you probably wont remember the next morning if you didn't know them before hand.
I’m stationed at Fort Drum right now and they require you to go to the Mountain Warfare Pre-School before you can get a slot to vermont. It encompasses only knot tying because that is what 95% of people who go through fail on. It is not a physically demanding school aside from rucking at all. Falling out on a ruck 5 minutes behind is an automatic fail. Great course and you definitely learn a lot.
That is awesome! When you move to the United States, you must become at least a permanent resident of the United States prior to being considered for enlistment into the National Guard. Once you meet this, reach back out to us and we are happy to get you connected to the local recruiter!
Great questions! We can answer them! Hop over to our live one on one chat at www.NationalGuard.com/instachat and we can assist you with speaking to your local recruiter and get set up to enlist!
Hello, I'm interested in joining, but unfortunately, I have fallen arches, and they are starting to become symptomatic. Does this condition prevent me from joining?
Talk with a recruiter and find about if there are any wavers. Also don't be fooled if someone GARENTEE'S you this course. That is never the case in the military and usually most dont get what they want. Your best bet for this course would be to join the Guard unit that runs the course.
All the fun and achy stuff. The more fit you are the easier it will be, not really but it sure helps.
The more fit you are the better is true for every Army school.

Hey can every guard member attend this school?
this should be 10th mtns school
Does it matter what rank you are?
Nope. I’ve seen ranks from E-1 all the way to 0-6 go through this course.
They should offer these schools to civilians
