Climb to Glory!
Much respect for you. The 10th Mountain Division. You are the ELITE. You were the 1st unit deployed to Afghanistan in 2003.
Undoubtedly, a well-trained, highly motivated unit. Much respect to the somewhat under appreciated 10th Mountain Division troopers.
uh, you seen the shoot house video?
@@Jacob-oq3uv what about it? D-boy.
@@v.german11b airsofters have better muzzle discipline than those soldiers with live rounds
@@Jacob-oq3uv What if they are novices learning? It takes much training and practice. Irrespective of your "SF" opinion, the 10th Mountain Division is a distinguished light infantry unit.
@@v.german11b there’s no doubt of their distinguished service history. But his shoot house video shows actual members of the mountain division. They are flagging each other and doing other big no no’s (I’ll Find the video)
Not gonna lie, I'm only watching this in honor of Jonathan Villanueva, 10th Mountain. I miss you brother.
Patrick Harris whats lying have to do with it ?
All I can remember is freezing my ass off.
So I'm watching this on my sisters computer but I was with the 10th Mountain Division from 2005-the end of 2007. This is a great video and makes me proud to have once stood in formation and yelled "Climb To Glory." My unit took heavy losses in Iraq supporting the G.W.O.T. I cant help but see the faces of my buddies that never came back home every time I look at the face of a new 10th Mountain soldier. Know that you have some big shoes to fill but trust me when I say no other unit will prepare you for whatever your future holds. So stand tall and hold your head up high. Welcome to my brothers and sisters as we all, past , present, and future will always be family. CLIMB TO GLORY!!!!
Ah, Fort Drum. I used to tell people you ain't land nav until you land nav at night, in a blizzard with several feet of snow, with full ruck and gear, wearing snowshoes and NVDs. Extreme cold weather training at its finest. 😂
Grew up next to Ft, Drum. I went into the Marines to ensure I’d never be stationed at Ft Drum. Hats off and respect for all 10th Mountain Division troops.
I grew up by Fort Drum.. The beat of the drums is something you’ll never forget. If you have been there and you survived and thrived you are blessed
You left out all the privates shoveling snow and getting DUI's coming back from Syracuse.
YOu have a shit attitude.
The truth is a shit attitude? Lol. We had an NCO get a DUI on his way to formation for a division alcohol stand down day. Fat chicks and alcohol are the official sponsors of drum
@Chin Brumback drum was a black hole (and probably still is) in the early 2000s. You could get in, but you couldnt PCS out
@Chin Brumback he wasnt talking you, you fucking moron. Lmfao
@Chin Brumback you do realize there was an original comment...
Americas Best, we are lucky to have folks like this. God Bless them.
I won't say they are the best but definitely badasses. I also like these mountaineers.
We don't need a blessing from god, we call this reality
@@maricrisada1820 what you replied makes no sense at all. Are you feeling ok?
Real top notch super troopers. Was serving in Korea in the late 1980s and got a promotion that had a two year service committment. First potential assignment I got was to 10th Mountain with a report date in Feb. The assignment folks joked that I would have to travel by dogsled to get there in Feb. Fortunately, I already was retirement elegible, so I was able to opt out. Next assignment was to southern California. Not a real difficult decision to make there! My son-in-law was a helicopter pilot who did serve with the 10th. Hooah!!
Fak you , you probably blew the commander too
Tough brave men....respect from Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks Max, we worked with your special forces and they were great guys as well
Served in Somalia in 10th Mountain Division. So proud of being a part of it.
King of the Mountain
I was PCS'ing from Drum to Alaska when the unit got orders for Somolia- that place was high-speed back then
I am the grandson of someone who was with the division in WW2. I don't remember what company off hand, but 2 battalion 86th regiment.
I’m a former Fort Drum soldier. Loved that vid. I was there in the mid 90’s and it was rough and ready then. Stayed in the field a lot. But I think the training is better now because the focus had to shift in a post 9/11, al-qeada, taliban, and ISIS bad guy world. Gotta get even tougher. Sappers Forward!!!
yattaj thank you for your service! I live 20 min from fort drum and love seeing the aviation from that base!
Wow me 2 from 91 to 94
I remember training the black hawk down crew who gave their lives to save the delta force crew
did you know someone named Charles Deck?
My great grandpa and other troops of the 10th concurred a mountain in Italy that the Nazis had held for 3 years, he and his men couldn't see above but managed to pull it off. keep it going boys
I was proud to have served with the 10th Mountain Division. 87 to 93.
What was Mountain School like sir? I just got assigned to Ft Drum
@@austinperezgk1 Was there 5 years, never saw a single mountain lol.
I spent years living in Leadville and taught skiing at the area where this unit was born, Camp Hale Colorado. Skied with dozens of the OG 10th guys.
Lived in central Florida for 20 years since ETSing from Ft. Drum. Lots of memories in that video. I must say I prefer my winters without all the snow that the North Country provides. Climb to Glory!
Was an aight unit. Didn’t really enjoy my time there but I did make some real good friends. Lol the shit we did in the barracks. Never forget. To the top!
Proud of my husband his part of 10th mountain 🏔 and Americas best
After I was Honorably Discharged from The United States Marine Corps on 01 July 1991AD, I cross - decked on over to The United States Army, and, although I never served in The 10th Mountain Division ( Light Infantry), I can say that for General Purpose Soldiers, these Alpine Warriors are High- Speed, Low-Drag Mountain Soldiers. Hooah and This We'll Defend!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🗽🔫🗡️⚔️💣💥🔥☠️💀
How is it honorable to serve as a bitch

Proud mother-in-law to a 10th Mountain Division Infantryman! These men and women are badasses! ❤️🇺🇲
My brother is in this one,his name is Kevin miles, today is his birthday!💕🇺🇸
8:49 as a 10th mountain combat veteran I am ashamed of that room clearing. Must have been a POG.
11 BANG BANG BABY!!!
I leave for fort benning in 15 days and I’m really hoping to get into the 10th mountain division once I graduate.
I leave for benning on the 25th as well!!
Ty Ballou 11x?
Tyler Wood yes sir!
Ty Ballou sweet! I’m hoping they don’t push back the ship date
Tyler Wood have they been doing that? That would suck!
I was in the Gebirgsdivision 9 of the Swiss Army, 12 cm mortars, 1979 to 2000. Cheers.
Swiss Rambo! Cool. Zurich and Weesen in April !
Im watching this because of Sean Parnell. These people are not only soldiers, but heroes and they are brave
Been avoiding this division for almost 10 years
Sosaman OTF you’ve probably been avoiding deployments too
@Chin Brumback I was in the 10SFG the 90's. That's like 10th Mountain with extra steps of misery.
@Chin Brumback It was at Ft. Devens, Ma. Mid 90's we moved to Ft. Carson Co.
@Chin Brumback I loved Carson. I always wanted to go to Panama, but I got sent to Korea instead.
@Chin Brumback Not retired, but I got out in '95. I hoped to go to 7th Group, who had a battalion in Panama, but the snow gods prevailed.
My uncle Ralph Elkington trained at Camp Hale CO during WW II and was S2 for a battalion in Italy.
Ah, the memories. 3rd Sqdn, 17th Cav from 92 to 97. With a free cruise to Haiti in 94, you couldn't go wrong.
Ha! 2-25 92-95 here. Good times for sure.
Thank you for this video. God bless you.
Served in the 10th from 1996-2003, Deployed to Bosnia, Sinai, Kosovo, Afghanistan. Was sent to various locations across the world for training Panama, Bolivia, and Greenland. I do not regret a single moment with the 10th.
My first duty station, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
For my Uncle John who was a member of its 87th Inf Reg.
Awesome.. been there done that 1995-2000... best 5 of my 21 years.. to the top
Ft Drum honestly enjoyed being stationed there, The video really does it justice in my opinion, probably should've included the beach in there somewhere lol
They need to be based at somewhere that has mountains.
Thank you patriots. Thank you.
The only division that is prepared to fight russia.
Hahaha
Hua 3rd brigade here and we’re ready
@@oneiltheriot515 I feel terrible for the 3,000 Airborne troops sent, there's little to no chance of survival just because they're so heavily out numbered. They'll be used as the causalities to kick off the full scale war, but I do believe when we fight russia it'll be over there and in the states.
It'll collectively take every man, but it'll be worth it.
Before putins death bed, he will try to restart the USSR and he'll try to leave it as a legacy.

4th id ready
im from n.y.s! 10 th mtn god bless! i was in the 172d inf bde alaska!! 80's - 40 below!!!!
Yep, I remember going to Fort Drum in 1979 for winter training from Fort Benning with the 197th INF BDE. The day we got there it was -40°F and the day we left it was 40°F. It even snowed in Georgia while we were gone. Shoot, we could have stayed at home and got snow...
About the time you were mentioning I was at Fort Benning for Jump School. January to early February 1979. My class was waiting on weather holds for out Graduating Jumps. We were about to start boarding when some troops wearing white Mickey Mouse boots disembarked from some aircraft. It would be interesting if you were one of the Benning Troopies I saw.
By the way: I nearly froze at Fort Benning. No Field Jacket liner and temperatures in the teens will do that to you.
1st brigade over here.... swords for life ⚔️💪🏽
my dad was stationed at Fort Drum I was born in Watertown, NY and im in the progress of enlisting right now I told the recruiter I want to go to 10th Mountain.
Spent 6 years in the 10th from 1997 - 2003, 4/31 Inf, and LRSD.
Good to know. We have a mountains division. Did not know to much about it till now. This is the first time and thank you for the video it explain a little bit more. Usually the saying through air(us air force) land (us army, us marine) and sea (us navy). Now add mountains.
Good ole Ft Drum Watertown is a good duty assignment....I live near by but when I was in the army in the 80s Ft Drum was nothing but a national guard training facility...man has it grown woo wee! Tried to PCs up there while I was home on leave one time....
Hats off to you ... 🇺🇸
Served in Afghanistan with you guys in 2006-2007...ret USAF (airborne)
thank for your service. From russia. U.S Army the best!

Meanwhile what is it with all the Children of Democrats working for Ukrainian gas companies? Shotgun Joe’s son was busted for crack cocaine usage, too.
You can’t stand the fact that while there was a Trumpy Bear made, the ones for The Hildebeast are flying brooms.

Go get 'em!!!
They train at Ft. Drum because the weather here in NY sucks as much as anywhere else in the world.
As a fellow new yorker, i ca confirm this😂😂
Try Wildchicken, Germany. 4 seasons in 2 hours
That's most honest answer I've read yet...😎👍
I grew up 20 minutes from fort drum. We as kids played in the same terrain that these dudes "train" in and loved it. our parents had to come find us at dark. It's all about perception.
Of course these guys train in sucks environments and weather conditions, cuz they specialised in fighting in those environments and conditions. They are so far the only unit of its size to receive such training. There is a reason why the unit is called 10th Mountain Division not 10th Infantry Division. If not them then who else? Its also part of the 18th Airborne Corps which means its also a rapid deployment force, capable of fighting in any terrain and weather conditions around the world where other conventional units can't.
I recently found out my grandfather Jerry Halley was in the 10 mountain Div in Italy. I am a Marine Corps veteran but damn proud of my grandfather
To the Top!
I remember when it was Camp Drum.
@NORTHWOODSPREPPER1 holy shit, i thought i was the only old guy here... guess what i did after 9/11... at watertown airport?
Well done!
I served at Ft. Drum from 87-90... It was cold and snowy as hell and there wasn't much to do when we were off duty. It will always have a special place in my heart...if anyone served at Drum during that time assigned to the 10th Signal BN, hit me up! Go Army...HOOAH!!!
Dewayne Hooker I was there from 88’ (start of winter) to 90’. Great memories. Reforger exercise to all of the winter/ cold training. My get away was the Watertown mall sadly:) But on weekends me and my buds would head down to the Syracuse clubs. One club was themed like a carousel. Perhaps we crossed paths. Was assigned to 2nd Brigade HQ.
Yeah there’s nothing to do here in your free time.
I served in B Co 10th Signal BN Jan 89 - May 90. Worst thing that ever happened to me was being transferred to Germany.
I served there from 09-12, and been to Korea, and Fort Lewis, and would happily go back to Drum. the training was serious and I learned everything I needed there. Top notch unit.
88-92 3rd Bn 14th infantry.
I was there from 91 to 94....wow
Don’t feel too confident after that new shoot house clip got released
Was thinking the same thing
Of the two divisions I served under, this is the one I have the most pride in
Which other one do you serve in?

My brother was in this regiment :)
Sorry man but this is not a regiment it's a division. The 10th Mountain Division not 10th Mountain Regiment. Are u sure your brother was in this unit?
“Deeds Not Words!”
In this video I remember years ago when I was stationed at FORT GORDON and we deployed on a NATO EXERCISE to FORT Drum upstate New York State and years later my nephew was stationed at FORT Drum as a helicopter mechanic and that's when the ARMY activated FORT Drum which is now the 10th mountain division but he is out of the ARMY now
My great grandpa served in the 10th mountain division during WW2
That's great. Thank you for his service. These mountaineers are skill soldiers in the mountains.
10th mountain!! Another unit I would have killed to join....them racoonzes are funny and cuddly as hell! Zdravo!!
10th Mountain is about as mountain ready as 101st is Airborne. Only mountain at that base is 45th INF Gate.
For the 10th Mountain is true but the 101st Airborne Division is longer an airborne unit anymore, its an air assault unit. They don't conduct airborne operations anymore, they did in WW2 but now they don't.
Yeah, but 45th isn't mountian. There is one real mountain unit anymore, and is in Colorado.

2nd Brigade HQ Company. 88’ to 90’. CTG !!
LT: Hey its negative 10 out lets go for a run !!!!
As a 24 yr Guardsman, I did 17 ATs in Ft Drum and FTX exercises in the winter and can attest to that sub zero weather! Always had big respect for that high speed training in that inclement weather that the 10th Mtn is always subjected to! Salute!🪖⭐⭐⭐
DS was 10th Mountain, Hooah!
lived 5 years at ft drum best time.of my life was there
I’m heading there next 🥺
Royal Marine Commando's. 45 Commando artic warfare and mountain.
1988-90 Ft Drum, WW2 buildings some new family housing and Commisary /PX. Light Infantry was a reminder ever field duty we had more gear than any other unit i had been in. More cold and snow that you see anywhere outside of Alaska.
We don’t have shit now.
8:54 Music to my ears.
I always wondered why this Division is located so close to Canada (Watertown, NY) and so far from any Mountains...
Cheers from Montréal!
13 years service, Cdn Forces
Well, Eric, why do you suppose the current PM's father invoked the War Measures Act back in 1970 to deal with the FLQ? Hint: Ft. Drum and the 10th Mountain had more than a bit to do with it...
@@Grimenoughtomaketherobotcry
Well then, Plattsburgh would have been a much better location (much closer, and a flatter terrain) if indeed it was such a reason...
Hike hundreds of miles thru rough terrain to take out some enemies that thought noone would hop up out of the mud. God bless all of you. Thank you for your service i sleep well at night because of your sacrifices. How do you train to deal with the cold? Im made of skin and bones the cold is detrimental to me.

I like weather as those who live in San Diego experience. Not too hot. Not too cold. It's perfect. I have been in 30 below zero and 129 above. They both sucked. So, I hope the next war is fought in an area that has weather like San Diego.
