[One] of the greatest advantages of 3D is that you only have to "draw" it once.
Yup don’t have to worry so much about consistency once’s you’re modeled it
Amen.
Yeah but the "drawing" can take dozens of hours so it depends on the project
@@boitahaki
You are not wrong on that. But that is still hours you do not have to spend drawing it again. This can be a huge benefit if you were do something as detail intense and Warframe or Warhammer 40,000, or camera angles or perspective that would require a good deal of time to do, even if the "Drawing" was fairly simple.
@@DocWolphEveryone please remember the most important thing, "drawing" is suppose to be fun! 😀
Probably the hardest type of video to find on all of you tube.
I've been searching for this type of video for weeks lol
The comics fan in me says this is your best ever video, cheers man!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Currently teaching myself Blender for this very reason. Very informative! Thanks for sharing!
Comics were the reason I started with Blender. Initial because of 3D props to be used in a comic. But Blender was so much fun that I forgot my initial goal :D There are also nice comic shaders on the blendermarket or on YT.
Oo could you link me to some good ones?
Haha the story of everyone who goes into blender with an initial, simple goal. You forget why you went there because it's so fun
yes i agree with you in all what you have said , and allow me to add that in Blender you can use a base mesh the draw over it using grease pencil and the magic is that you have the freedom to change the lighting and shadows the way you want and thats just save you tons of time
I have been wanting to make a comic and now I can i've had my head filled to the clouds with ideas now I can unleash them
This is astonishing!
I love this video topic, especially since NPR is getting popular again, but difficult to pull off. Paul O Caggegi is a major Comic Artist using Blender, pushing NPR in Blender. I like the other Artist pieces as well. When I saw the Guilty Gear presentation for GDC 2015 on Toon Shading in XSi, I was blown away.
Thanks for sharing!
I am using Paul's free Manga shader lite on my 3D models. Except for the face, there I user the Malt shader with outline because it makes more lines in the face instead of Freestyle. For the rest of the body it's Pauls lite shader combined with Freestyle.
The internet does read my mind, thanks a lot!
Spitfire Storyboards has some very interesting vids on how to approach storyboarding with grease pencil. It's not the same a making a comic but it's very close.
I appreciate this comment, thank you!
Thanks for the overview of this.
Great Video Mate thanks !
This is really useful
Awesome....may you please help me on how to make beam aura and particles around a existing object like dragon ball?
anyone know how to do that 3:39 part, where individual comic panels can be expanded into a full environment, depending on the angle you view it from . . .preferbly in unity but blender is fine 2
Thanks, friend. For a long time I thought about tracing, overpaints, using 3d as cheating. But now I am sure, that if it benefits your work quality-wise and speeds up the process, it is worth it. I would rather paint over a 3d girl and be done with the picture of a decent quality in an hour than spend a day without it and have a mediocre result in the end. Besides in comic it is the story that goes first, not the art. If someone fights for honesty, let him draw fully traditionally
I’m with you man!
Im actually planning to do a 3 character draw over comic.
Work smarter not harder
Ya its different for everyone. I want to be my own illustrator while balancing writing as a storyteller so I'm going about it traditionally for me. But adding special effects is a nice touch to the middle blend medium of comics. Effects over tradtional so I have my original art and the digital as a video.
whats that anime looking shown when the grease pencils is introduced?
Is there any detailed tutorials on how to do that 3D Batman/robin comic effect during the middle (3.05) of the video? I’m obsessed with that look!!!
Nice video. does anyone have experience in comic shading a DAZ character that is imported into blender? I have tried in the past but I get these weird shades especially on the face of the character. I have thought about making my comic with photorealistic renders but as stated, this looks a bit strange when adding speech balloons on top of a "photo".
I've. been looking into 3d comics. How would one go about finding a freelance artist to work on a commission?
Tienes o existe algún vídeo que explique cómo convertir un cómic o imagen en 3d así como en el vídeo, es increíble, querría aprender
Does someone knows the HQ/manga's name in 08:25?
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
can I use this tool without animating it?
wich is the comic at 8:50 ???
Are there courses on this?
Cool!👍
best video
2:52 ngl they had us in the first half
❤️
Blender is great software both 2d and 3d artist,it is good for comic style animation, but I prefer Krita than blender from creating comics, because Keira is free and open source like blender and it's great for creating 2d animation, manga, illustration and much more
I know there are many animations out there using Blender, are there examples of Blender conics?

Hi
This guy sounds like Caspian Report
Degga er spricht mega undeutlich..
These "3d comics" are so cheap that looks like cancer, but using blender to create motion comics, or using the mesh and objects to drawing over is a smart way to produce some good scenes without the "lack of artistry" feeling
After catching each scene, i probably would have used Photoshop and edit the shots to give it more of a comic book feel. I did that when taking pictures in the Halo games
It feels like you are telling the same stuff over and over again in every video.
