  • In this track, the Hapax is sequencing all 5 instruments: Nymphes + Bigsky reverb (PADS), Tanzbar + Boum warming unit (DRUMS), Minitaur (BASS), M (BELLS) and S-1 (PLUCK CHORDS).
    I've used a few of the cool features of the Hapax as the FILL button, the MIDI effects (MIDI ECHO introduced in v2.0, RANDOMIZER, HARMONIZER...), step probabilities, CC automation etc.
    It's also the first track featuring the M with the v1.10 firmware, and the Oto Machines - Boum effect 🤩🔥!
    I've been hesitating for a long time to get one as I already have the Elektron Analog Heat MKII 😊 But I really don't regret buying one finally as it can really modify the sound in a way that the Analog Heat can't (the Analog Heat doesn't really have a compressor, but it can be simulated using its internal envelope follower).
    * Hardware used *
    // PADS:
    - Dreadbox Nymphes (6-voice analog synth) + Strymon Bigsky (reverb)
    • Nymphes (Dreadbox)
    // DRUMS:
    - MFB Tanzbar (16-voice analog drum machine) + Oto Machines Boum "Warming Unit" (stereo analog compressor, distortion, filter...)
    • Tanzbar (MFB)
    // BASS:
    - Moog Minitaur (analog mono synth)
    • Minitaur (Moog)
    // BELLS
    - Waldorf M (8-voice digital/analog hybrid synth)
    • M (Waldorf)
    // PLUCK CHORDS:
    - Roland S-1 (4-voice digital synth, inspired by the famous mono synth SH-101)
    • S-1 Tweak Synth (Roland)
    //SEQUENCER:
    - Squarp Instruments Hapax (firmware v2.0) sequencing all 5 instruments • Hapax polychronic sequ...
    Recorded in one shot and mixed in Ableton Live. A bit of chorus was added post recording on the BASS played by the Minitaur, in order to add more depth to the sound.

    This sounds great! I love when you adjusted the LFO at 1:00. What a cool setup too! That Tanzbar looks awesome too. You have all of the best drum machines.

    How can I give this video 10 likes?? The moog Minitaur sounds good, is all of this going to a DAW to put it all together???

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  2 месяца назад +3

      Haha thanks for your support Carlos! 🤗 The Minitaur is really amazing for all these kind of bass sounds 🤩 And yes, everything is recorded in one shot in my DAW (multitrack) and mixed in the box (Ableton Live).

    The sound is so textured, like surface irregularities but I feel it by ears :D

    i see in others videos you used a Roland SE for base . Did you swapped it to Minitaur ? is it raw tone of Minitaur better ? other side SE is more versatile

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  2 месяца назад +4

      I still have both 😊 I've even used them in a couple of videos which you can find among the tracks featured in the playlist below. Both are cool mono bass synths but even if the SE-02 is based on the Minimoog, has a buit-in sequencer, 3 oscillators, a delay etc., still the Minitaur has a kind of vibe for bass sounds which can't really be found in the SE-02 (and the Minitaur's VST editor is way much better than the SE-02 if you want to integrate these instruments in an hybrid setup with a DAW 😉).

      Let's sum it up that way: the SE-02 is more versatile than the Minitaur, the the latter really excels at playing those fat & deep bass sounds 🤩

    How do you find the Hapax? I am in 2 minds as I want an MPE MIDI recorder but I like the OxiOne probability better.
    Limitations of the OxiOne are 4 tracks, I would still have to add an MPE controller, probably go for the Osmose.

      I like to play with the Hapax (even though I've never used it for MPE so far). Its 2 screens are very handy and I really like all its MIDI effects which can be quite inspiring. I'd just wish the pads were a bit softer (like on the Novation Tracks for example) and may be more controls (dedicated buttons like the FILL button and dedicated knobs...) for real time performance. It's quite big too compared to the Oxi One.

      @@2MinuteWarning thx for the reply, since the Hapax will be close to the massively sized Reliq, I might hold off getting another sequencer ( I have 4 or 5 I think and some expensive ones) and pool some money into the Osmose for some MPE playing.
      The Oxi is almost redundant to me because you cannot import or export MIDI files, and it's only 4 track which makes it hard when 12+ synths you need to drive.
      I am heavily into sequencing so I can tweak knobs. The Reliq might be too much MIDI (Too much TUNA!!!) but I'd rather wait and see all my options.
      Thx for the reply.

      You are welcome! I think we talked about the Reliq in another comments section of one of my video some time ago 😉 Seems very interesting indeed, if size doesn't matter 😅 With the Hapax you can import/export MIDI though I haven't used this feature yet (as the MPE). The Osmose really seems to be a wonderful instrument too 🤩
