#gonzaga #pac12
This is a big add for the new look Pac
Unlv should have went to a conference that has Gonzaga and Sdsu instead of playing against UTEP
The offer was there. They left it on the table 🤷♂️
Very clever (and evil) of the Mountain West to make the remaining universities sign a grant-of-rights agreement first BEFORE recruiting former WAC rival, Texas-El Paso.
Unfortunately, UNLV and UTEP were WAC rivals for THREE seasons only, so not much history with them.
Now they need to change their name to Gonzaga State 🤣
Now they just need to change their name to Gonzaga State 🤣
welcome to the Pac12!
So long saint mary's good look in the new wcc in 2026
The Memphis State AD had to have a news conference because alumni were in full revolt over them turning down the Pac 12, he made it pretty clear the only reason they did is the Pac 12 tried to shaft them on playoff shares of money and would only pay about 10% of the AAC's massive exit fees, basically all the Pac 12 has to do is negotiate a fair assistance package on those exit fees and revenue sharing for football playoff money and they are in, that is probably the case also with Tulane and South Florida, sources said in fact South Florida was so interested they were the ones that first contacted the Pac 12, not the other way around. From what I read the Pac 12 is looking at Texas State, North Texas and Rice to get into those big Texas metro area TV Markets but they would no doubt take those three big AAC teams if they can and Gonzaga will certainly make that a juicier option for Memphis State, a conference with those two and San Diego St that played in the national championship just two years ago is a damn good hoops conference.
23-24 NET rankings on the teams
#17 Gonzaga
#20 San Diego State
#26 Boise State
#36 Colorado State
#38 Utah State
#44 Washington State
#165 Oregon State
#233 Fresno State
If they get UConn,Memphis,& Tulane they’ll get a big bag for the Tv deal
UConn AF Army Navy add is better
Now get Memphis.......
Make it worth moving. Fun fact: Memphis leads series with Gonzaga 6-4.
Going have to pay BIG bucks to cover those exit fees...not to mention Tulane, and two Texas universities to make jetlag and travel less hellish for Memphis.
Do NOT get any Leastern Time Zone universities (South Florida, UConn etc.)!
Unfortunately not happening because they rather stay in the AAC
No keep it west teams

Is that a better conference than their current one?
Way better! St. Mary's was their only real competition year in and year out. Now they have San Diego St., Boise St., Colorado St. Washington St., and Utah St. That's just so far.
@@thevgbuddy791 - If the Pac can get a good TV deal from the idiot networks compared to the West Coast, then yes.
Gonzaga vs SDSU would be a big game for the westcoast similar to Duke Vs. North Carolina in a way.
It's better. What people don't understand is that in The past 3 or 4 years, the WCC was getting in 2 or 3 teams into march madness. They were the only mid college conference to do that consistently if at all. But the PAC 12 has more teams that are better than WCC teams. Its a great fit for Gonzaga.
@@psychopathyoutubeemployees280 Gonzaga was getting 3 million a year in the WCC. It'll be better, by a significant margin.
Can Gonzaga get a football program, please?
Go Zags!
*Sacramento State* of the *Big Sky* will probably be the cheapest to get unless the *Sun Belt's* exit fee (for *Texas State)* is doable. So it will probably be Sacramento State to form the *Pac-8 1/2.* No football sponsorship at *Zag U* since BEFORE World War 2.
The Pac-12 is in the grace period for FBS status and has to regain compliance by 2026. Sacramento State would not achieve FBS status until 2027, which is too late for the Pac-12.
The Mountain West grace period would not begin until July 1, 2026 and the conference would have until July 1, 2028. With today's UTEP announcement, the Mountain West only needs one more full member, so the Mountain West may not even fall out of compliance.
Sack town will never make pac 12
Saint Mary’s basketball only?
Going have to pay BIG bucks to cover those AAC exit fees...not to mention Tulane, and two Texas universities to make jetlag and travel less hellish for Memphis.
Do NOT get any Leastern Time Zone universities (South Florida, UConn etc.)!
Have fun trying to get out of that grant-of-rights agreement, UNLV and Air Force Academy, let alone paying the Mountain West the BIG bucks when it comes to exit fees!
Oh wait, the Washington D.C. politicians can pay for the exit fees for their Air Academy easily. Could be interesting.
Made sense 20 years ago. While the Pac12 still has some work to do as a football conference, it is building a pretty dam good hoops conference. Zaga would strenthen any hoops conference.
I hope for the Pac's sake, that they found that the Mountain West violated something in the contract, that the Pac won't share publicly for now.
Maybe Creighton would leave big East due to location?
I like the Sacrament story…
I'm sure Sacramento State will be next for the Pac.
My wildcard pick is Notre Dame to the PAC-12.
Could lure in Memphis. 🍻
A win win for Zags
I wonder I'd they'll make a football team now
Gonzaga vs SDSU 🔥
Change the name to pac state 😂
Good for them

Big fish, small pond!
win the wcc, get a 12 seed :)
I like it
UNLV and Memphis need to join now! Great football and BBall
UNLV signed that grant-of-rights agreement with the Mountain West, didn't they?
Going have to pay BIG bucks to cover those exit fees...not to mention Tulane, and two Texas universities to make jetlag and travel less hellish for Memphis.
Do NOT get any Leastern Time Zone universities (South Florida, UConn etc.)!
We don't need Memphis and UNLV anymore... Go after ACC teams now...
TV deals are not based on basketball.
Yes. At the same time, Gonzaga is in a rare league in terms of basketball success and ratings.
@legoforbeginners6950 Yes. At the same time, UConn is in a rare league in terms of basketball success and ratings... but TV deals are not based on basketball. And that's why UConn is stuck in limbo.
@@jineshlachmansingh4709 UConn's football team is stuck in limbo. Not basketball.
The PAC-12 is like an old band from the 70's, with one original member, playing at the county fair. "Hey, I don't recognize any of these guys."
At least they get the hits at the county fair! 😂 This Pac-12 show promises only the new stuff and isn’t quite good enough to cover the old material.
Same with the Big 12, AAC most conferences. This is the direction college sports is at.
The Pac traitors will be BEGGING Washington State and Oregon State for forgiveness in the 2030's once CONSTANT JETLAG in ALL sports destroys them!
UNLV has gotta be interested now.
The Pac doesn't have the money to get another MW school.
@@lorenzohaynes3886unless they win their lawsuit with the MW
@@anthonytitone - So far, the Pac has shown NO PROOF that the Mountain West violated the contract.
Have fun getting out of that grant-of-rights they just signed.
@@psychopathyoutubeemployees280 it was an MOA not a GOR, much less set in stone. But agreed, I don't see it happening
Should have joined the big 12
