I'm in Siem Reap right now, with a woman I met online half a year ago. Before we've been to Koh Rong island. Love the country, love the people. So much more friendly than Thais. Couldn't believe it in the beginning.
I went to Phnom penh earlier this year. I didn't bother with Anchor Wat because I thought there would be a lot of walking around. I hooked up with a local girl and she knew all of the tourist stuff to do. We had a week together and went to a temple that was overwhelmed with wild monkeys and also stayed a few days on one of the islands... beautiful scenery. Great memories of the place, it sort of reminded me of the Thailand of 25 years ago.
I spent a few weeks in Siem Reap before covid a great place i spent 3 days just in the temples and the amazing museum ... thanks for bringing back the memories ... pub street appears to have changed a lot
Great video and very informative on street and club life. I recently watched a documentary where archeologist were uncovering buried ruins and footings with GPR ....Ground Penetrating Radar and found Angkor Wat to be alot larger than originally thought. Amazing!
Great Vid Trev, can't wait for part2. I did Siem Reap years ago when they used the old military airport for arrivals/departures which was just 10mins up the road from the center, shame its now over an hour from the new international one. Pub street has changed and by your video there seems to be more bars off the pub street area to venture too, hotel looks fab also, thanks for making this video and i am glad you like it there, hope the others that are with you enjoy Siem Reap also.
Stayed in same Hotel a few years back - Perfect place for Siem Reap. Angkor Wat is the most amazing place I have visited - did Sunrise tour but you can't get to see the Whole place in a day - many do 3 day tours. If you think its crowded then wait until midday when 100,000 Chinese appear. You can easily get a plane to Phenom Phen or even better Sihanouckville and get speedboat to Koh Rong an amazing Island almost paradise. Trevor enjoy your trip brings back happy memories.
I visited Cambodia during November last year and really enjoyed it. Not putting crap on Thailand but I have to say the Cambodian people seemed less mercenary and more happy to see tourists than the Thais. We did the dawn viewing at Angkor and it’s definitely overrated in my opinion , just visit during the day. Make sure to bring lots of clean small denomination US dollars to avoid hassles with currency exchange.
Phnom Penh is like the baby brother of Thailand Bar scene. The girls are there but the quantity of bars aren't quite up to speed as Thailand. Although I did enjoyed my time there... same hospitality and the girls have their own unique good looks! I look forward to visiting again soon... they also use USD and Cambodian currency.
Love Siem Reap, been there a couple of times, no good for the ladies but had some good nights, great vibes at night., completely different than Pattaya.
Great video. One of the best of yours. I like it much better than one of your walk abouts or ride abouts. I really like seeing your trips where you see the cultural landscapes. Well done. That butt sink at @3:47 looked like a perfect fit.
hi trev.i live in siemreap for 11 years now.this is high season so overcrowded.in hot season its nerly dead as in rainy season.pubstreet starts around 7pm,peoplefo first visiting the temples beer is around 50cent to 1 $ food from 1,5$ to ..... hookers are around 20$ a pop to ... still cheaper then pattaya. you pay 30$ for a tourist visa and 35 for a regular visa.the regular visa you can prolong indefenitly, so much easier to stay then thailand.
The Red Piano was my go to place. First day it rained so much we could not go to the temples. Ended up being all day in the Red Piano. Food, drink and a load of drink was about $50.

However, a typhoon lashed the town for 3 days and I missed out🙄 Can't believe you old timers fell for the tuk tuk/lady bar scam😆 If it's a choice between Pub St and Soi Buakhao, you know which I'd prefer...
I arrived at Angkor Wat a few days after 9/11. I have photos of no one at the main Wat. To see this circus and the sad tone in your voice, mate never again. Bali/Thailand for me
@cmb1972 Oh, if you don’t like being in crowds, visit Angkor Wat between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. There aren’t many visitors during that time, and you can enjoy its beauty in peace. But don’t forget to visit during the cool season, around December to February. That way, you won’t burn yourself and can enjoy everything comfortably.
