Just wondering , how the Works DTM Audi V8 Quattro would fare against the Works Skyline GT-R R32? We might never know..

It's too bad BOP was not a thing back then. Not to take away from the Skylines, but they certainly had a bigger stick than everyone else. Ford didn't care about development. The Sierra was like a model-T compared to the Skylines by 1990.

How the heck did a awd turbo car compete with the ef civic?

To make the race fair, Group A rules states that all cars competing were put between different classes depending on engine capacity. Division 3 is for cars over 2500cc, division 2 is for cars with 1600-2500cc and division 3 is for cars under 1600cc. So in this case the R32 GT-R, MK3 Supra and Sierra RS Cosworth are put in division 3, the E30 M3 is put under division 2 and the EF Civic and AE86 is put under division 1. Now, each division has its own class winners.
