You've got a really neat little camper, but a couple of suggestions.... I used to do suspension work in the automotive industry, and something that engineers strive for is having the shocks and springs mounted as close to the wheels as is feasible. If they aren't, the suspension components will be much more subject to flexing, bending, and breaking. Your suspension will be much more robust if the shocks are mounted vertically and attached just inboard of the wheels with the tops attached to the outside of the camper box, using maybe something like pipe flanges attached to the walls. I wouldn't just simply drill a hole in the wall to bolt the shock to because it would probably just tear loose. A well mounted pipe flange would spread the load, and you could run the shock bolt through the center hole. A bushing in the center hole will be needed, because you will want to use a fairly large pipe flange in order to spread the load as much as possible. A large flat steel plate, say 12" by 12" or bigger would work even better to spread the load. Have one hole in the center for the shock bolt and lots of holes to attach the plate to the wall. A large piece of reinforcing plywood on the inside of the wall would be a good idea too. You've built the thing like a battleship, so I'm sure that the walls will easily carry the weight applied to the top end of the shocks, but some extra L brackets joining the walls to the floor, all the way around the box would also be advisable. Place the L brackets on the OUTSIDE of the camper box. Very important. I know that this sounds like a major refit, but it would pay dividends in the long run.
All an indoor fan does is move around the hot air, and a camper box that closes up as tight as yours does could possibly experience a harmful or even lethal build up of CO2, along with an uncomfortable level of humidity, which can cause the unwanted growth of mold. That's why house attics are always well ventilated. Further, nice commercially available campers always have some kind of air circulation system. You need to install an exhaust fan high on the wall, just below the roof line, near the end where you cook your food. You could use a side by side pair of really beefy brushless computer fans with a speed controller. They are very efficient, and with the monster battery you've got in there you could run those fans for days and days. They would do alot to keep you cool during the day and at night, as long as you have an open window with a screen to act as an air intake. If you exhaust air, it needs a place to come in as well. Place the air intake at the opposite end of the camper box from the fan to get full flow through ventilation. A substantial bug proof steel screen on the intake is essential to make sure that critters don't get in while you're snoozing. A top hinged outside cover for the fans and air intake will be needed to keep out the weather, and these will also function as little awnings to keep out the water on rainy days... I'm old, retired, and half crippled now, and it's fun to watch you build all of this neat stuff that I never had the time or resources to build when I was your age. Please accept my suggestions in the spirit in which they are given, and above all, have fun while you can.

When mounting any electronic devices, it's always a good idea to use foam rubber or similar padding to isolate them from vibrations. This is especially important for switching power supplies, but it applies to PCBs with components in general, as vibrations can negatively affect their reliability over time.

Seen a lot of suggestions for additional improvements that would add creature comfort and repulsion from unwanted creatures, but I'd like to add a further frame supprt element so the camper lasts longer. Even though you moved the back axel frontwards some, it seems from the shot at 17:07 that a lot of stress is still carried towards the front wheel. I'd suggest, since your using square perfed tubing, to add onto behind the seat some sort of moveable drop suppports for when the camper is "parked" for extended periods for when you're going in and out. You could add some decent sized feet and use lock pins to secure them to the ground when parked, and secured up while traveling. This would add a lot of stability while moving about the cabin and climbing in and out and save wear and tear on the frame overall. Keep up the dream!

I agree on most of these things, too. I think of the insulation 🥶 every video, but it's so pretty being all wood--is that the reason he never added it? I think of carpeting too--it would be warmer at night, with his sleeping bag on the floor? He could use insulation and padding under the carpet?
I've been wondering about an awning too--and an attachable/detachable table--trailers are all coming with them now--with an outlet to cook outside! They use detachable adjustable legs for the table, using those square tubes with all the holes that he uses all the time for the 2 outer legs (the camper wall is the inside support--some just use it as a ledge--maybe they use something to connect that is over my head...? He won't need this much till spring/summer, but in summer it would be much cooler to cook outside, make a frozen smoothie, etc.
He did use that yellow vinyl on the roof...his signature fabric? Water-proofing... We can keep him busy all winter.😉🤯 And I'm learning so much about things I had no clue...
What about a boat he can tow to the lake with his camper?😂😂😂 I loved his boat best. Tho this is winning me over quickly...

I really like how lightweight that solar system is! You could have a second one that folds over the top while you're driving and when you're ready to set up for the night, unfold the other piece and maybe have some adjustable poles so you can have a pop-up awning to provide shade and shelter from rain for the welcome mat area of your camper.
Really cool to see what you come up with as always!

I like how raising the height helps prevent his feet from dragging could see it being tiring to keep them from dragging. With the new height probably helps traverse the terrain. Kudos Quiet Nerd. Maybe you can add a footrest to the driving position, which would be more comfortable and look more integrated.
    I have that screen, too.
I take it with me when I go camping. I bring some cables and I can project the screen from my phone onto the screen to watch some movies or TV shows.

Love it... But couple of things...1) Foot pegs Bro. They will work wonders for getting on and off and a more comfortable and safer ride. 2) you need to adjust your lights. You are literally losing 50% of your headlights by them shining up like that. 3) mount your temp sensor to the box of the camper. 4) You need to put some type of screen material in your windows so you can leave them open and not have bugs get in. 5) Carry either some parchment paper, or some type of dollar store tablecloth with you to keep on your table so that way you don't get crumbs all over your camper. Other than that that thing is pretty badass

Foot pegs would be a simple add on and would make it more comfortable as well as make less uncomfortable looking. It will also make it a lot safer in the event of a sudden stop.

This is so entertaining. Youve got a dope setup. A sorta brace to prop up the solar panel would be cool. Probably not a 90° angle but enough to park against the sun down and get the last bit of day juice

I always love watching these videos, especially when you revisit a project and upgrade it further. I did have a few ideas that I think would improve the build.
    1) Bug screen for the door. They sell magnetic ones that automatically close after you go through them.
    2) an overhead ceiling fan that can pull air through the windows and then exhaust out the top of the camper.
    3) an awning (made out of a yellow tarp perhaps) that can roll up or extend off of the door side of the camper. This would give you a dry outdoor area and keep rain from coming in the door while you have it open.
    4) a mud flap between the front wheel and the seat so you don't spray mud up onto yourself while you drive.
    5) hopefully you already have this but a way so other people can't drive off with this while you're inside.

Very nice video. I like the way you think. I like the little extras that a lot of us wouldn't think of, like the pipe insulator "noodles". I like that it's all bolted together and didn't require welding. If I were driving it, I would have to have foot pegs or footrests so my feet didn't dangle. That seems like it would be hard on my thighs to dangle for an extended time. Well done, and don't stop!

You'd be amazed how much added strength you get from compositing that steel tubing by cutting wood to fit and hammering it into the tubing. I built a pair of 60 ft beams using steel studs with 2x6's inserted into the cavity of the steel stud. 60 ft run with only 4 inches of deflection (sag) in the middle. It was for an inflated double poly film greenhouse.

Just a suggestion for night fishing. If you want to get some catfish use live bait and let it sink to the bottom ie worms ect. For bass use a surface lure like a popper or a jitterbug. rubber worms don't work too well because they don't have the same visual reference at low levels of light.

You should add some pegs for your feet to go on. Also, you should try to do a small gas engine build next. I think you can actually do quite a bit with weed eater engines. Also, go cart engines can be obtained fairly cheaply I believe. I think a gas powered build would be even more reliable for an outdoor/survival/mobile mini house build.
