A hurricane in Norwalk Connecticut in 80's...Hurricane Charlie in 2004 and several more in between 04 and 05 in Florida. A roof came down on top of me. My brother died in Hurricane Katrina and just now...my daughter In law , grand daughter and great grandson ( one year old ) and grandson in law...just survived Ian in Charlotte County , and as soon as they can get out of Florida , are heading home to me in Syracuse New York For 4 weeks. I turned 75 last week and I have experienced many things in my lifetime . I stayed In Faith every step of the way Knowing I was always in God's hands. I never stopped praying 🙏 for everyone in harms way , including my family and myself. I never once thought why me ...But I always asked...what can I do to help !
This is beyond sad. Florida's west coast is a beautiful place. This destruction is hard to see. I pray it is all just property damage and everyone made it through safely.

Prayers for the Gulf Coast. I pray they evacuated. I kept hearing about Pinellas county evacuations but they didn’t take the direct hit. God please help these poor people who are trapped in their homes. Those waters are filled with danger. Not to mention the influx of mosquitoes half the state will have due to all the flooding.

These storms happen every year and do the same types of damage over and over. There’s always going to be millionaires yachts sitting in the yards of a burned out mobile home. Get used to it. I think you’d be doing a better service to the public if you used fact based reporting on how people can help themselves instead of a bunch of hyperbole and fear mongering. Here’s what the storm is likely to do, here’s what you should be doing to prepare, here’s how you can help yourself, here’s how you can help others.
