the core of the hurricane near the eye is where this type of sustained winds are. Being a cat 4 would be like this close to the eye, but further away a lot less severe.
That is great footage. It gives an idea to those who do not live in the US the true power and terror of those storms. There is nowhere to hide, nowhere safe. Really feel for those who are going to return to an empty lot. Heartbreaking.
Idk about nowhere to hide. Parking garages are sturdy enough for people to hide in. Homes and what not, though it sucks to lose them, they’re materials. They can be replaced. You can not.
hmmm if the car is not blown away, its not that bad , maybe investing in a better house made more sturdy , other parts floods floated the garage or some sort away
Your are 100% safe inside a house made of concrete if you don't live in a area prone to flooding. If you live in a trailer or wooden house in a area that has hurricanes, you deserve to lose your house.
My heart is broken for everyone who couldnt get way from this storm for whatever reason. And the ones who lost everything. Im 3 hours from where the storm surged the worst. @@Константин-ш3к I'm praying for your soul 🙏 Prayer is a direct connection to Father God. A way of communicating with our Creator. We live in a "sin filled" world because of the disobedience of Adam. But there is a way of redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ. One must be truly repentant of his sins and ask for forgiveness of sins. Then follow the commandments of God. By Rapture or by Death, I am ready to meet our Creator God. Are you ready?
I know how you feel. It was supposed to make landfall in my city but hit south of us instead. Praying for those affected and for families of fatalities. They are starting to find them now.
I give you all Storm Chasers credit for doing what you do so that us 'At home storm chasers' can watch the devastating impact. Is there ever a time when you decide "Okay, enough is enough, let's get out of here?" Prayers for all who are being effected by this devastion. 🙏
Placida. It used to be my favorite place to fish when I lived in the area until 2019. Sad what happened to those trailers, but that close to the coast is no place for any trailers. I found that out in 2004 with Charlie.
If they have you as the site of land fall 24 hours before it actually happens, rejoice. It never hits where they predict 24 hours or more. I watched it start at Tallahassee, then Gainesville, then Tampa, then Sarasota, etc. It was pretty clear, as usual, they were way off that far out in time.
Unfortunately I think we can't avoid fatalities. And unfortunately, there will probably be the request looting etc. It's amazing to see communities come together after something like this happens though, in the end all we have is each other.
WOW! The unrelenting force is what gets me! The sheer volume and mass - of really just air - that is pushed without ceasing at such a quick and unimpeded rate, is such an awesome thing to see, and it really puts into perspective how out-gunned man is compared to the wrath of God's nature! Thank you for recording all of this for all of us here watching (while all comfy and safe), you're braver than me, that's for sure! 👍
God bless all who are dealing with this chaotic storm and I pray most got out in time. Shout out to the camera operators! This is some of the most incredible hurricane footage I have ever seen! Stay safe, Florida!
Thank you for sharing this. We hope to show it to our mobile home park residents in Largo (where we were far more fortunate than our southern neighbors) in hopes of instilling in them the truth of the situation. We cannot stay in our park just because we believe "it won't happen to us". or "we'll be fine if we just stay indoors". This is real. This is dangerous and all the evacuation warnings need to be taken seriously. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those so seriously impacted by this storm.
Yes absolutely! That’s a great idea and just by nature we don’t always appreciate the level of danger until we see it in a way that hits home or end up coming face to face with it! I live in Riverview and I know that if god forbid we end up with a direct hit to our area by a major storm it’s going to be catastrophic and if people do not listen and evacuate we could easily see another extremely deadly Hurricane Katrina situation or easily worse.
My heart goes out to these people. Hopefully, all were spared the power of nature. Thank you to the people who go out and record it. It shows us what a waste all of it is.
Junk manufactured homes and trailer homes. They're not designed to withstand a weather event like this... buying one is merely a gamble that you won't get hit. And insurance is betting on yourself that you do get hit. Strange how that works, no?
@@purplenights1 Of course not, but I am not snarky like you were. I grew up in tornado country, I know what wind does. I have seen whole small towns wiped out.

I was wondering if could share on rv groups in the future before hurricanes. People actually thought they could ride out in a RV by filling up holding tanks and putting in the slides. I hope they are ok.
@@purplenights1 I would say many are elderly living in homes they have owned for decades. They are on fixed incomes. There is not flood or hurricane insurance. They may not have family members to turn to. Nor the means to relocate. They will not receive help from FEMA or US Government. It is heartbreaking to see. These are people who have worked hard their entire life, spent money wisely only to end up homeless at an age they physically can not start over. It’s happening in natural disasters from hurricanes, tornados, wildfires, etc. One day Larry you may reach a point where you look back and understand what I was saying❤🙏
FEMA and aid groups like the Red Cross will be there for sure. This flooding from the surge reminds me a little of Hurricane Katrina in that it was enexpectedly high water levels, completely devastating. I'm sure most around the country (myself included) will be donating to help. But we need to be on watch for gofundme scams, only give to verified people/groups.
@@Graphics_Card while my heart goes out to these people, the fact of the matter is that this happens every so many years, and it's the same routine every time-- stuff gets destroyed, news coverage shows crying people and the aftermath/destruction, and then people stay there and it happens again and again, rinse and repeat. Living in a mobile home in a place well known for its hurricanes isn't a very smart choice. As for the rich, I get tired of hearing their crying every time this happens because they deliberately choose to live there and rebuild each and every time-- so the person has a point.
Omg!!! That’s terrifying, you are both brave souls 😩😩that’s just intense I’m so glad you guys are ok! Thank you for that video and putting yourself in danger for us to watch it!!💪🏻✌🏼
These homes actually fared better than i would expect. And some people don't have a choice. I live in a doublewide, and we turned a large set of concrete steps into a tornado shelter, because I got tired of having to run down to the creekbed every time there was a tornado warning.
@@Graphics_Card , I understand. But if you are elderly or disabled or poor, and there is no one to help you, being required to and actually being able to are not the same thing. I would hope everyone would have at least one person they could call for help getting out, but previous storms have taught us that's not the case.
@@oneperson5760 Then that is something that should have been taken care of before. Which brings us to another point. Always prepare, and not last minute. This is why they tell you on the news.
@@Graphics_Card you completely missed what they said and fail to understand that the news can tell people to leave all they want. Most people have no where to go or no one to turn to in these situations (common sense). To go somewhere you need a couple hundred dollars to a thousand and most people don’t just have that lying around (also common sense) The gas prices in FL were even made more expensive when people were trying to fill up their gas tanks to evacuate.. It’s not easy just to get up and go without being able to afford it. Not everyone has the funds or resources where they are able to relocate to a safe destination. (Common sense)
The best video footage (Though the saddest) i've seen showing the strength of hurricane IAN. Hopefully the owners of those houses have (been) evacuated before this happened.
Incredible footage, what kind of vehicle were you in that you were safe from this? That flying debri would slice a person in half, it was going so fast. It would have been so hard to not say S and F words. Thank you for capturing this so people truly understand how terrorizing this experience was to endure. Wind speed?
I feel sorry for the people living in Florida during hurricane Ian doing alot of damage to mobile homes 😪 thoughts and prayers goes out to the people living in Florida 🙏🙏🙏🙏
My guess is "storm chasers" who do this as a hobby or even sometimes as a job for the video. I wondered if they were protected from the most dangerous part of it by being in the lee of a building (though I don't know). They were smart to film a mobile home park for the footage though. Hope it had been evacuated.
2 guys, they're doing it for licensing and broadcast. Good filming, i'm glad someone got good footage. They deliberately picked a trailer park (think it might be Gasparilla Mobile Estates) as they KNEW that would make for the most dramatic video as these are kinda permanent trailers but they just will not stand up to a direct hit by a Cat4 storm. Hence....head there, get the max wins, license video, make lots of money from broadcasters and TV networks paying them.
Unfortunately some people, I call such daredevils often bring trouble to themselves. Have you ever notices naughty drivers on highways, mountain climbers, people jumping from cliffs to the water , insubordinated and proud ones?

Hi
Thank you for this raw coverage. It really shows the seriousness and destructive power of these storms.

Speechless. Praying for anyone who was in those trailers
Not to worry. They were in the basement.
It looks like EVERY home is going to have issues
Hopefully they left before the hurricane hit
Most likely they all evacuated, they are accustomed to the weather like this..
Really? I'm surprised they weren't totally destroyed
Thanks!
Been through many hurricanes but I’ve never seen anything like this for the sustained winds.
Then you haven't been directly hit.
Check out the footage from Hurricane Charlie. Craziest sustained winds I've ever seen on video
the core of the hurricane near the eye is where this type of sustained winds are. Being a cat 4 would be like this close to the eye, but further away a lot less severe.
@@colty7764 this is the best footage of a hurricane I've ever seen 👀
@@Trahzy I've been directly hit many times, this one hit different. Longest storm ever.
I live in Pinellas county and glad we avoided a direct hit.
It was still very windy and rainy. No flooding or loss of power, thankfully.
Great footage thanks!
A powerful hurricane has the wind speed of a small tornado. But lasting for days & over 100s of square miles. Not mere minutes.
Your are 100% safe inside a house made of concrete if you don't live in a area prone to flooding. If you live in a trailer or wooden house in a area that has hurricanes, you deserve to lose your house.
Fear God
So scary!! Feel so bad for everyone going through this!! Stay safe!!
Wow! Great work, Simon and Juston! Really good stuff. Top-notch. 👊
My heart is broken for everyone who couldnt get way from this storm for whatever reason. And the ones who lost everything. Im 3 hours from where the storm surged the worst. Its almost a guilty feeling to feel relieved because so many will have to rebuild everything. God bless florida and lets pray when it hits water again that it doesnt try to gain its strength back!

I'm praying for your soul 🙏
Prayer is a direct connection to Father God.
@@Константин-ш3к I be praying for you also

I live in tampa it's crazy to think this was going to be us just 24hrs prior to landfall. I pray there are no fatalities with this storm.
I think they are 42 as of 20 minutes ago
same i’m so glad it wasn’t us. i feel so terrible for people who lost their homes

Deepest sympathies with all the victims of the Ian. Hopefully they will find courage and resolve to put their lives back together.
Lord have mercy! Praying for the people in Florida.
My heart goes out to these people. Hopefully, all were spared the power of nature. Thank you to the people who go out and record it. It shows us what a waste all of it is.
This is utterly heartbreaking. These homes are totaled.
And that is exactly what hurricanes do, destroy property. Were you born yesterday?
Junk manufactured homes and trailer homes. They're not designed to withstand a weather event like this... buying one is merely a gamble that you won't get hit. And insurance is betting on yourself that you do get hit. Strange how that works, no?
@@purplenights1 Of course not, but I am not snarky like you were. I grew up in tornado country, I know what wind does. I have seen whole small towns wiped out.
Hurricane Ian was my 31st birthday gift from Mother Nature! I wish I could have met him!
that's very unlucky
I never understood why in USA the house are made with wood instead of pure blocks and concrete, specially in those ares that are prone to hurricanes and tornadoes!
Greed of home makers and those employers who employ low wage workers.
These are trailer homes, not regular homes.
Very low cost? 🤷♀️
People being cheap you would think they would know better than to build flimsy homes in hurricane Alley. At least Atula knows!
A simple answer is cost, wood is relatively cheap, cinder blocks, concrete and steel is exceptionally expensive in comparison.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. I really feel sick for those affected by this.. Things have been hard enough the last 2 years and now these folks have this to deal with. Wish I was there with many of you who are like minded to help… 😢

I was wondering if could share on rv groups in the future before hurricanes. People actually thought they could ride out in a RV by filling up holding tanks and putting in the slides. I hope they are ok.
It’s heart wrenching to see this. Pray everyone safe. The sad part many will not have monies to replace the homes they lost.
Nothing heart-wrenching about seeing fools play the fool card. You choose to live where there are known hurricane possibilities, you assume the risk.
@@purplenights1
I would say many are elderly living in homes they have owned for decades.
@@purplenights1 dude, at least show some respect. People can choose where they want to live. It isn’t like it’s their fault.
Thank you for that video and putting yourself in danger for us to watch it!!💪🏻✌🏼
Prayers to all of you in Florida ❤️
This is why you don't want to be in a mobile home whether it's in a tornado or hurricane.
These homes actually fared better than i would expect. And some people don't have a choice. I live in a doublewide, and we turned a large set of concrete steps into a tornado shelter, because I got tired of having to run down to the creekbed every time there was a tornado warning.
They tell you that on the evacuation maps. Regardless of zone, mobile home owners are always required to evacuate.
About a year ago or so, the weather authorities changed Ian's category designation from a four up to a five.
So sorry for all of your losses. Sending prayers to all affected.
The best video footage (Though the saddest) i've seen showing the strength of hurricane IAN. Hopefully the owners of those houses have (been) evacuated before this happened.
There is nothing sad about this. It was great. I chased Ian all by myself and I am not technically a chaser.
Incredible footage, what kind of vehicle were you in that you were safe from this? That flying debri would slice a person in half, it was going so fast.
That's what they do for a living.
@@ramonortiz3095 exactly. It's done for purposes of revenue, and i'm sure they made 5-figures in dollars out of it.
They're meteorologists. They're names are in the description box.
