Thank you for your videos about HR! If I want to work on the compensation & benefits side of HR, would you recommend a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in HR Management or a Bachelors of Science in Human Resource Management? TIA! ☺️

Question: does a masters in HR Management translate into years of experience when considering salary?

Yes & no. I have never had anyone mention my Masters in HR when interviewing. That said, they probably looked at my resume for a moment & thought, “oh a Masters, that’s nice” and then moved on. Because I didn’t have HR experience before I did my Masters, I do think it helped me get my foot in the door, but it was an expensive foot in the door. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend a Masters in HR to someone who has HR experience, or has a Bachelors in HR. I don’t think it’s worth it, if that’s the case. Hope this helps give some context. Let me know if you have any questions.
