    Very easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXHNfxr6U9XrHQpsdjUrKNVP231BfS9q9 disassemble and wash. I had a juicer before and remember how much work was to wash it and how little juice I got for this. So, I was sceptical and that's why I did a good amount of research so I don't get disappointed again. So, I picked the Hamilton-Beach 67608A model and I am glad I did. Now, this is a totally different experience! It is powerful and squeezes every ounce of juice so the pulp is almost dry. It's simple and easy to take it apart for washing. I put a plastic bag in the waste container for less cleaning. I am glad I picked this model as it is smaller in size, but delivers the same power as the larger one.

    I purchased an Omega J8006 masticating juicer and couldn't be happier. I've been juicing a couple times a week now for over two and a half years. I love the juicer in winter months when I get cabin fever!
    My favorite juice is: 2 Granny Smith apples, 2 medium/small beets, 1/2 lemon, and 1/2 inch ginger = it tastes just like pink lemonade!

    When I juice I'll take the veggie pulp and add it to my tub of extra bits and pices of left over veggies in the freezer to make Hobo Soup. Its just whatever would get tossed together to make a veggie/bean soup, the extra carrot pulp gives it a thickened consistancy more like chowder! So one night you might have a tiny bit of green beans left, add em to the tub, the next night a bit of corn is left, add it to the tub, the next some asparagus, add that too! Its just like making a free meal with stuff you'd probably discard, we used to make it like once a month or so, adding whatever else to pump it up with some with popatoes, cabbage, all sorts of beans, ect.

    It's important to understand that fructose from fruit is absolutely nothing like fructose associated with high fructose corn syrup. They have nothing to do with one another. Fruit sugar gets a bad wrap for no reason, and it's sad because fruits are our natural food source as human beings.

    • @dvdgalutube
      @dvdgalutube 6 лет назад +7

      RAW is WAR in the end, doesn’t matter which kind of fructose, it will still spike up insulin and turn into glucose and get stored in body...? fruits are indulgence not necessities. What vitamins or minerals we cannot get from meat and vegetables that are found in fruits? Cheers!

    • @dkaranovic
      @dkaranovic 5 лет назад +10

      that is not true. Fructose is fructose. The problem is, that with pure fruit juice you take in a lot of fructose solved in water without the fibre, so it gets absorbed very fast. If you drink a smoothie or eat the whole fruit, you won't observe the same kind of blood sugar spike compared to pure juice. So, you should mix your fruit juice with water, maybe add some vegetable juice and drink it slowly.

    Dani, I love your videos. I don't have a juicer I blend my produce until is super liquid and then I strain it a bit so it's less thick. The kids won't drink it all if I don't strain it. But I find it so much richer when it is blended. The little extra pulp goess on the soil as plant food. Mix it up in one place to make a rich compost.

    I bought my juicer about 5 years ago or so, but I only started being able to juice more recently. I was always worried about what to do with the pulp. I finally bought both a dehydrator and a food processor that have given me the ability to not feel so wasteful with it. I take the pulp from my juicer for a few different things - for the sweeter stuff, I put it into bread or muffins. The veggie stuff gets made into crackers in my dehydrator or is added to my spaghetti sauce to thicken it and give some extra fiber. I work in a store with baby food, and I actually got the idea to put some of the pulp in homemade ravioli. Still haven't done that yet, though.

    I've been watching TOO many videos about this is this by far the best and most informative one by far. Thank you very much. My biggest wonder is the blender vs juicer aspect. I really don't know if the fiber aspect is as important as receiving more nutrients by not being filled up by all the pulp. I understand certain people believe juicing is a waste of food... but really, it's just a waist of fiber. It does cost more IF you use more food, but if your only doing it for the nutrition, than do don't NEED more juice to do that. Even if you throw in just a couple pieces of fruit and vegetables... you'll only get a small amount of juice... but that's all you need. Your not doing it to fill yourself up... if you want to do that, you use a blender. Am I wrong?

I won't eat the eggplant if it is cooked so what i do is cut them up in pieces add apple or orange juice and drink it with the pulp and another one I do is i take out the skin of the Aloe Vera and put it in the blender with mint leaves. They're really good, as it's a high speed blender you can do things like making nut butters without burning out the motor. I'm currently doing a smoothie challenge and I find that the vitamix makes much smoother smoothies - there aren't lots of bits floating around in green smoothies like when I had a nutri-ninja. You do pay for it though, vitamixs aren't cheap. I picked up a demo model which had a third off or I never would have got one.

    actually "apple" press are very high in sugar, better to say green apples are the lowest sugary or lowest glycemic indexed apple. just like the lowest glycemic berries are blue/straw/rasp berries as opposed to cherries, other berries. this is very important to keep insulin down and weight loss promoted. great video nice one. the veggies you use plus beets give me tremendous energy and recovery i can tell you all. plus i have the omega $300 auger juicer its fantastic and has 15 year warranty which is extremely valuable . its quality. stay healthy all!

I can't wait to get my first juicer and mix it up with my vitamix! The only thing I would add is that chewing in between sips will aid the stomach in digesting the juice. Thank you for such a great video!! The best in my opinion.

      that's false information. The liver metabolizes fruit juice and does not cause an insulin response. The stomach metabolizes processed sugars, and that will, in turn, cause an insulin response. You will get a temporary spike in your blood sugar with fruit sugar, but it will quickly go down. There are a lot of "studies" done by people that want you to be afraid of fruit juice and its sugars because they are healthy for you, and your body needs those sugars. Our society believes whatever it hears and that is why everyone is deficient and sick. I'm in the health field and I've never met anyone who got diabetes from eating fruits. It's always processed food & sugars, junk foods and junk starches, and so on.

    Here are my thoughts on juicing: (honest thoughts, not trolling, just trying to engage conversation)...For me, I find the process of blending vegetables/fruits (with water/ice) to be not only more financially logical but also healthier and here are my reasons why. 1. It seems it takes a significant amount of produce to create a small amount of juice. At least with blending, you are still using all of the vegetable and essentially getting your moneys worth from the entire product you've purchased and we all know that produce is not cheap. 2. You are losing out on the fiber content when you juice (vs. blend, where it remains).3. I've heard a lot of people who are not medical professionals say that your body can more easily absorb the vitamins, etc. from pure juice when the fiber is taken away. Yet, I've also read from medical studies that your body only takes what it needs, so dumping large amounts of juice vitamins and nutrients into your body at once when you drink this doesn't mean that all of those vitamins and nutrients are being absorbed. Your body will simply expel the additional aspects it doesn't need through your waste. Side note: doctors actually recommend, if you take a multivitamin, to cut it in half and take .5 in the AM and .5 in the PM because again, your body will simply dispose of the additional aspects of the vitamins contents it doesn't need.
    Thoughts on blending vs. juicing? :)

    • @Trysomieflexntjes
      @Trysomieflexntjes 8 лет назад +3

      As you said, we will lose some fibre but we can take it from other food. furthermore is indeed better to drink some juice in the morning and afternoon. it facilitates increasing your daily consumption of green vegetables. i think it is better than a daily vitamin.

    • @Shepherdingtwogirls
      @Shepherdingtwogirls 8 лет назад +5

      +Paul B Fibre is not a nutrient. The point of juicing is to get more veggie goodness in than you would be able to consume in whole food. The nutrients are much more bioavailable, the body doesn't have to use energy processing fibre to get to the nutrients. If you're juicing you won't need a multivitamin. I don't think blending and juicing are truly comparable.

      I have no idea about juicing vs blending. I wanted to get into juicing more vegetables. I just lost 2 pregnancies. And I'm sure juicing isn't going to do much. But if I do it it might make me feel better or make me think I feel better or something. I don't think I'll have a juice everyday tho unless it's a special situation. (End of harvest and I have a ton of produce I want to go through and not waste (I have a ton of carrot heads and beat heads and random folliage). But also when you are pregnant you don't always want to eat. I used to lose my lunch at the thought of a smoothie. Which is weird. But I remember when I had my first going to booster juice and getting juices with ginger in it for my breakfast and it really helped.

    We compost the left over pulp. Since we live in Tempe and in an apartment, we hire a local composting company to come once a week to pick up our composting materials. Recycled City, LLC is a local company here in the Phoenix market. I'm sure there are others, you would just have to google to find out. Great way to give back and not just have it end up in the trash!

    I knew Harvey Diamond, the author of Fit For Life - the first diet book to become a best seller. He was big into juicing. That was 40 years ago?
    Since then I've been living in Japan and I am disabled due to double-hip replacement surgery. I can't exercise and I've gained weight. I'm going to give juicing a try.

    You are awesome Dani and excellent video tutorial. I picked up a Centrifugal Juicer about a week ago after watching allot of other videos on the tube here. Picked up a Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer as a first time juicer and very happy with it. loving my 30 days of Juicing and on day 10 and doing great losses 10 lbs already. Having seen you cover the Masticating juicer, i can also see how that is also very efficient and really squeeze the pulp all out. Great to know how both juicer options work and any future consideration. The bloopers are also great, takes allot of effort and time to make there videos i know. Your awesome.

    As much as I like the thought of juicing. My gall bladder was full of infection, not stones. Now stuck with life long chronic diarreah I NEED that fiber. Smoothies and extra fiber work well for me, and some of your recipes look interesting. One of my favorite recipes is tomato juice, cucumber, onion, garlic, zuccini, carrot, cajun spices, amd whatever looks good in the spice rack for that day. Puree; and refrigerate for a Gespacho smoothie, or leave out the cucumber and heat for a winter soup.

    Re: slowing down oxidation. Its just the thick foam! Keeping the foam at the top of the flask insulates the juice from the air. That's a side benefit of masticating juicers, they create this extra thick foam layer.

    Good video but I agree with most of the comments that you used too much ginger and personally I like more fruit in my blends, especially apples and pears. Spinach is good and less tangy than kale.
    I use the Aicok juicer which is way cheaper than the one you demonstrated (under £60) and would seem to make a better job!

    Pulp goes into my raised garden.
    I purchased a juicer for $150.00 we use it occasionally because I prefer smoothies/blending to keep the fiber in our diet. Fiber is the ONLY form of exercise on the digestive track to remove all the crap your body doesn't want because it can't use it. However I do like the quick benefits of juicing but fiber is essential 🤗

    I notice a lot people remove the skin from oranges or any other citrus, but I do not. I visited Barcelona and their juicing machines juice the entire orange. the flavor is amazing and it keeps all the natural minerals and vitamins within the peel. Yes it could be a little bitter, but using the entire product will help cut the sugar on some of the drinks such as beet juices.

      way to much ginger. A beginner would feel like their mouth was on fire. And a lot of people want that fruit in there. To me kind of defeats the purpose of the green. Don't mind an occasional green apple but hate it when people want to add all kinds of fruit.

      ***** If I use carrot, I usually just stick to one to help sweeten, but all in all, I think there is too much sugar in carrots to have a full glass of carrot juice.

    I am glad you clarified the fact that if you use a juicer to make fruit juice, you will increase your sugar consumption greatly which defeats the purpose of a health drink, in addition, your so right by saying that if you eat the fruits whole with the fiber, you won't consume as much because it will make you feel full, but here is the million dollar question, the one vegetable I love the taste of is Carrots, now, carrots have a lot of sugar, is carrot juice good for you due to the fact that most of it's sugar is glucose not fructose?

    • @CleanandDeliciousDani
      @CleanandDeliciousDani  8 лет назад

      +Masterlowen21 Everything in moderation :) Carrots do have a higher sugar content than green vegetables, so it is important to be mindful of the amount and type of juice you are consuming. I would suggest cutting the carrot juice with a healthy handful of green veggies ;)

    • @Masterlowen21
      @Masterlowen21 8 лет назад

      The problem with mixing veggies is that most people will juice a ton of fruit, like two pounds worth and then add like a 3 leaves of spinach "to make it green and healthy" just so that they could not taste the greens, but what good is 2 grams of spinach going to do for your body? Now the problem with adding nothing but greens veggies, specially the leafy greens is that, the more you put in, the bitter your drink gets, and who wants to drink extra bitter, the more greens you but in, the bitter it gets to the point in become undrinkable! Last, I heard that is best to juice things that grow underground like Radishes or carrots because unlike Green leafy greens, they are not fumigated, sterilized with fungicides or pesticides, those underground veggies are healthier because of it! Last, I promise, Yes I know you can buy Organic, but I heard somewhere that even organics have to use some pesticides, not as much as conventional growers, but they have to use them because what is going to prevent the bugs from eating their plants???
