I love to see more and more people talking about Annabelle: Creation! The dumbwaiter scene towards the end gives me chills. On another note, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson have incredible chemistry; they really carried the most recent Conjuring for me. I wish DMMDI would've been better... I think it easily could've been one of the best horror trilogies out there.

It wasn't bad I just can't get past the stupidity of it. Why the fuck would an old couple who know they have a doll possessed by a demon living upstairs allow a whole bunch of orphans move in? That makes no fucking sense, especially given the curious and often defiant/contrary nature of children. It's not a bad movie, and certainly better than the first one, it's just really hard to over look the stupidity of that bit of writing.
@@Gregbaltzer Yeah, the whole excuse of the couple just trying to "atone for their sins" never sat right with me. I enjoy the rest of the movie though, so I try and overlook it lol

I'm from Mexico, and I was so sad that they didnt go back into the folk tale we get in Latin America of La Llorona. We grew up hearing stories about it, and having a white person being cursed it's just weird.

I'm from México and i grew up with the tale of La LLorona, it was weird seeing her on screen but me and my sisters were just having a blast because la llorona went international like "girl what are you doing in the states?" it was fun

i think they waiting on greenlit crooked man first, before conjuring 4 is announced. As it been in production for long time. I wont be surpised if crooked man releases in 2023, alongside the nun 2 later in the same year. then conjuring 4 in 2025

I love Annabelle Creation it was so cool how it connected to the first!
my main 3 is:
1) the conjuring (scariest one, the fact that true story was never solved, dark themes, leaves me sleepless afterwards)
2) Annabelle creation (solid origin story for annabelle doll that not too big or too small)
3) the conjuring devil made me do it (for fact that it retells the rleationship between ed and lorraine in different lighr than past films)

I’ve only seen The Conjuring 2 once and I think maybe I should rewatch it to see if I misjudged it, but I remember thinking all the special effects looked so fake and I never understood the hype behind it. Me and my sister were both laughing while watching it. But I know most people love it so I don’t really know. The first Conjuring is definitely my fave from the franchise!
Yeah personally.... i find it a little dry, compare to the first movie. So yeah i kinda scratch my head a little, when people say it's the best one. Either way it's all just opinions at the end of the day.
I don’t think I really liked the first one but the second one I thought was really good and spooky it did get ridiculous though during the end but then so does all those movies which is why they aren’t my fav

Agreed. I really think the first movie and Annabelle Creation are miles better than anything else in this whole franchise, but hey, to each their own.
The first Conjuring will always be my fave as it is the first movie that really got me into horror! I think the scares still hold up despite having seen it several times. I still can’t look when the witch is on top of the wardrobe 😭😭 wardrobes have always freaked me out after that movie!
I love the first Conjuring so much it's literally a comfort movie for me lol. I liked the Conjuring 2 but not my fav and I liked the 3rd installment a lot but idk I felt like it took a bit too long to get to the ending. Loved the vid!

same i find people seriously misjudging the plot of conjuring 3 too much. It more of franchise where you shouldn't take too seriously and enjoy yourself. Just because James wan wasn't in it, despite i seen his other films appreciate how Michael chaves explored the warrens a lot more than first two films

I love conjuring 2 it's my favorite movie in the conjuring universe
It's actually my favorite one. Lol. I mean I know the real story and that the Warren's had little (if anthing. It was hard to find anything about them even being there until 1 guy mentioned an American couple that randomly showed up) to do with it at all. But it's a pretty solid spooky film.
La Llorona was too cookie cutter for me and just had some extra stupid character decisions. I'd rank it last (when I remember it exists) but agree with everything else!
Right? I was going over my rankings in my head before watching the video and completely forgot La Llorona. So it aromatically defaults to last.
IKR every time I rank these movies, I always forget that La Llorana is supposed to be a part of it and some one needs to remind me, but really if I don't even remember it as part of the franchise and it was really bad, clearly ranked last.
I think I might be the only person who enjoyed watching The Nun. I can’t defend it. I don’t care. I just had fun and I didn’t feel the need to take it seriously. It felt campy and silly and atmospheric.

I had such low expectations for Annabelle Creation but was so amazed at how good it was and right after i saw the second Ouiji movie and was also amazed how much better than the first one. It was like horror came out of a small slump at that time

Conjuring 2 has the weirdest plot ever - The Demon-nun made a ghost posses a UK girl in order to lure Ed and Loreen (from the other side of the pond) to f them up.. wait , what? :D

The scene in the Conjuring 2 where the nun is standing at the end of the hallway is one of the most terrifying moments in film for me lol
1. The Conjuring 2 - surely one of my all time favorites, up there for me with Hereditary, The VVitch, Sinister, Buried (the Ryan Renolds movie, I'm not even sure it's considered horror, but it shook me to my very core), The Girl Next Door (the 2007 movie)

Your pronunciation of La Llorana is sooooooooo good! You're the first English speaker who actually took the time to learn how to say it. Having said that, the legend of la llorona is so famous here in Mexico and when I saw the film I thought it was fine, they stayed truth to the legend and the movie was entertaining so. It was good
this is my favorite horror franchise and i love all of the movies in it. your ranking is really not that far off from how people usually rank it, but putting "the conjuring 2" in front of "the conjuring" is quite a bold choice and one that i really appreciate (especially because i agree with it). that said, i do believe my own ranking, apart from the last two, is riddled with hot takes:

The conjuring 2 is literally my favourite conjuring movie too. It’s so well made and had such a great twist near the end!
The Conjuring 2 actually scared me so much I couldn't sleep that night and that doesn't really happen at all, so I 100% agree with it being #1
It's the only one I haven't been able to watch ever since I saw it in theaters

The Conjuring series will always have a special place in my heart; I consider myself a big fan. But if I were to rank/rate all of the movies, I'd say the exact same as you did! Even though there have been more hits than misses, I know I'm definitely going to continue seeing the movies as if/when they come out. Love your videos!
I'd actually rank Annabelle Creation as the best one, it actually scared me whereas the other movies didn't. I also think the first conjuring is better than the second.

thx for giving The Nun its credit lol I don't know why nobody else ranks it that high
La llorona its a story/legend that over the years has gotten many interpretations. Some say its the spirit of La Malinche, a prehispanic woman sold to Hernan Cortez, that later became his wife and was key in the conquest of the aztec; so when she cries Ay mis hijos, it is said she cries over the massacre of his people.
But staying with the classic story that many mexican hear growing up, about a woman that drowned her children, this one felt underdeveloped and uninteresting. Being a child this story gives goosebumps, but even as an adult you can feel some unease and frighten, because La llorona doesnt aim to children exclusively, she can pick and unfortunate anyone who crosses paths with her. She's an evil spirit that wanders around, beware of her.
I think that was missing. We got a generic woman spirit in a dress, not even some folklore in her design or somewhat reminiscent of the mexican culture.
everyone hates The Nun, I freaking love that movie. The Nun character scares the crap out of me. That movie is spooky af. Its number 2 in the franchise for me after The Conjuring. The Nun does not get the credit it deserves.

My theory is that they make the spin-offs to be cheap, quick cash grabs and when they do well they let people with more interesting ideas write/direct the sequels lol
I love the conjuring 2!! It’s so good especially where Ed brakes his promise with Lorraine to go save Janet, I’ve heard the real recordings of Janet and it’s creepy, also I love the curse of la Lorona it was great sad that so many people hate it
I only want to see more of the Warrens if it’s focused on them being haunted or possessed in their own home in a way that they can’t handle easily. More about their background, and Lorraine’s clairvoyance. That’s the only one I’ll watch now
It's nice to see someone else who appreciates the crooked man as much as me, he doesn't even scare me as much as I think he's just super neat looking, one of my favorite monster/whatevers in horror also

Anisa Begum same by far far far the best isn’t even in the same league as the others. Nothing was cheesy or over the top just horrifying. I remember when I first saw it and it was the first movie that really spooked me and I couldn’t believe it since the first one wasn’t good

I love people seeing having criticisms and rankings for movies but have never found a horror one. And then I found you! Your are so enjoyable to watch and me hearing all these movies that I've never seen fill up my weekend! You never gatekeep and your not afraid you share your opinions! i love these movies and i rank them as "we need more!" - these movies are so well written, directed, acted and they just keep getting better. there are so many supernatural myths that could be the inspirations for more of these excellent movies - i hope we get more, not necessarily with the Warrens.

I love The Crooked Man, but Conjuring 2 had way too much cheese in it for me. The original Conjuring is still the only film in the series that I think is worthy of its own title.

The first one will always be my favorite from the Conjuring universe, it was totally unexpected to me and it scared me the most, even though I find Valak to be the scariest entity, such a shame that The Nun is not a great movie, I was loving it, the whole atmosphere, but the part where they show how it got into the “real world” (the ground cracking) just turned me off so much, and then the “fight”… just terrible lol, it had a lot of potential, it’s sad to see how it actually turned out to be
I loved all of these movies. Mostly because I like this is genre of horror. My favorite thing about all of these movies is that I didn't have to go online and look up what the hell the ending meant

i agree with your top 3 tbh. the conjuring 2 is the best one yet BUT i do have a special connection with the first conjuring idk. it’s one of my comfort movies, I think because I was really young when i first watched it

My ranking would be the conjuring, the conjuring 2, Annabelle creation, the conjuring 3, the curse of la llorona, Annabelle comes home, the nun, Annabelle. But that’s my opinion and if ur wondering why the nun is above the first Annabelle it’s only by a little cause I love the castle setting

@@Tara-zz7ny yeah I really enjoyed it too I just like the first one just a bit more cause I feel like there were a bit more iconic stuff in the first then the second like Annabelle, hide and clap, bathsheba jumping at the kids( actually scared me when I first watched it), the introduction to the movie and the music box . The conjuring 2 had the nun obviously, the crooked man, the room scene with the crosses turning upside down, the audio from the case and that’s it for me but I really love both of them I just like the original a bit more

I just watched the first 2 conjuring movies, and they were so much better than I thought. 2 is now one of my favorite movies, just behind the ring.

Love your takes on this! I really enjoyed Annabelle Comes Home. I loved how Bathesheba was portrayed in there as well as just seeing Judy have more screen time and exploring the Warrens as parents more.

Well la lorona is set in the same universe as Annabelle and the other films. so it is apart of the conjuring universe. just not a main film.

The Conjuring 2 is also my favorite for the same reasons you stated. My second favorite is actually The Nun. It was the most effective for me horror wise.

8. La Llorona ( only because I haven’t seen it) I’m From Mexico and grew up with the story being told by many family members. Because of that I don’t watch American versions of the story the one time I did it was horrible. But I didn’t know this one was part of the conjuring universe which I love so I will be watching and adjusting the list afterwards if needed.
I think the new conjuring devil made me do it is seriously underrated. A lot of people misjudging for you got get me scared factor instead of actual story between the warrens. It has horror elements and also willing to give some more time with warrens in which i find was wonderful.
I don't know why but I love Conjuring: Devil Made Me Do It. It's so far from being "based on a true story", I think it's maybe the basically super powers of Lorraine and Witchcraft that I was into. Plus I like bad movies!

So one might be wondering why I rank Annabelle 1 above the Conjuring 3 and the reason is because of the script. While the script for the Conjuring 3 isn't bad however the detective route I honestly think they should have done that for the nun in my opinion because when that film (the nun) opens up its with the death of two nuns and there is something about that to screams perfect set up for a murder mystery. Where as with Annabelle 1 on the other hand the story wasn't a typical haunted house story but more psychological horror where the moment the family is in the apartment is when Annabelle starts to play mind tricks on our main female lead. That and also I think being in one location is a much scarier setting for a horror movie than 20 different ones with the exception of Annabelle Comes home it worked to well in that honestly.

My partner doesn’t like horror because he is easily frightened but he loves The Conjuring 2, so that speaks to how good it is in my opinion!

I was disappointed with La Llorona because the original legend deals with such taboo but realistic fears. not being able to take care of your own kids, fear of your spouse who you depend on abandoning you, driving you passed the point of actually killing your children. Not to mention the collective trauma of colonization (In many versions La Llorona is an indigenous woman who is in love with but cannot legally marry a Spaniard). It's so so so much deeper than how thw=e movie went about it.
I thought Taissa was Vera's daughter when I first seen her. You can definitely tell they are related and she could play a young Vera if ever necessary.

8) The Curse of La Llorona - I wasn't scared at all during the movie, more like bored tbh.
7) Annabelle - Too much hype and there was nothing original about it.

5) Annabelle Comes Home - I wasn't really excited about this movie but it was a good surprise, especially with all the different entities!
4) Annabelle Creation - The best of the Annabelle movies. Really good acting and the way it connects with the first movie is amazing.
3) The Conjuring - Just that scene where Christine sees something behind the door! It makes me shiver all the time! 😱

Well, I loved the Nun, but I was hopping for so much more.
This is my favorite franchise it’s what introduced me to horror so it will always be my favorite. I personally enjoyed The Nun, Valak is one of my favorite of the villains out of all of the others. The crooked man would half to be my second favorite he’s just so creepy and I love it.
