Absolutely incredible thanks for assembling parts 1 & 2 I was working at CNN in London at the time of Space Ghost where they used our studio for a couple of interviews, and in the control room getting staff in Atlanta to send me tapes of Dave in the internal mail. So good to hear these stories I've never heard before.
The whole Soup Nazi thing was really nasty. I used to live a block away from the place and the guy was just trying to run a business. He was enormously popular even before the Seinfeld episode, and the lines went around the corner. He needed all those rules to keep it moving, and he didn’t have time for small talk. But if you went just before closing and the lines were dwindling, he was much more relaxed and you’d get a smile from him. Maybe he was trying to have it both ways by capitalizing on it, but there’s no way he deserved to be turned into a laughing stock. It made me really dislike Jerry Seinfeld as a person, and I’m not seeing any remorse from this guy, either. (And yes, the soup was that good.)
At least Spike agreed that the guy wasn't a jerk, he was curt because time was a factor. Hopefully the publicity didn't hurt his business. Was his restaurant even more inundated after the episode came out?
@@FanboyFilms Business definitely went up. But people started snickering at him, which wasn’t cool. I only ever saw him get really annoyed with somebody once, and I don't know why but he did raise his voice a little bit. There was definitely nobody snickering then. There was nothing cartoonish or entertaining about it; it was just uncomfortable. But there’s no exaggeration about the soup. I started out getting the seafood bisque every time, but moved on to the others. The mulligatawny, the corn chowder. Never had anything like it before or since. I miss it.
@@lavs8696 maybe now that Disney has the Fox catalogue it won't be held hostage by the Fox News people who don't want the O'Reilly stuff out there. If that's truly why it's locked up.
Yes I remember watching clips on RUclips like 8 years ago. I'm guessing they were all taken down. Been looking for tweaky the cat and the ghosting behind people segment.
This is really amazing. You know, Spike Feresten was a true underdog for FOX in terms of late night, but FOX really didn't want a late night talk show because of what Joan & Chevy did for FOX in the 80s and 90s. So, FOX unfairly canned his show after 3 seasons. Well, what can you do?
Sounds like the same problem they later had when trying to pick up Conan O'Brien from NBC. That they can make more money by just programming sitcom reruns in the same time slot for less cost. So with Spike they didn't even try to get him on weeknights, but only on Saturdays paired with MadTV? Seems odd to have a talk show like this that's not day-and-date as Spike says, addressing current events every night.
@@FanboyFilms Exactly! Then again, how come in the interviews, the FOX Presidents all said that they were grooming Spike for the weeknights thing if FOX never wanted it in the first place?
@@FanboyFilms Also, I think that if Spike Feresten's talk show was on the air now with all of the O'Reilly jokes, then it would've done a lot better. Sorry about the late response.
Awesome, can't avoid the slideshow i guess, but this makes brilliant TV History Entertainment. keep producing, no matter what segment or host...(I enjoy the longer ones) You will have 100K ... its just too good
Thank you for doing this. I found talkshow with spike when I was 12 and loved it. I never knew why I could never find any clips from it. Dude is amazing

Another certified late-night classic
Love your videos. Can't think of anyone else in my life that would remotely care about this sort of stuff but I eat it up. Thanks for making them.
Thanks for watching!

Capitalism is based on exploitation. Everyone pays a price for the rich to accumulate
You know what makes me really dislike Jerry Seinfeld? Being 40 years old and dating a highschooler
Such an undervalued chan.
These videos are so great
This was fantastic!!!
where did u find all these clips. loved his show back in the day
Most of them were on RUclips, but a lot of them were found on Dailymotion.
@@FanboyFilms i really wish fox would let him release them on his channel or something. great video by the way i watched the whole thing

Who do you think was the former boss that inspired Elaine's dance?
Reupload ?
Yep. Trying to preserve the Colbert segments.

3:00 I hate it when my 40 year old boss keeps making out with his 17 year old high school girlfriend. PDA is so gross
Great video, never heard of this man, very interesting
