I'm 64, totally agree, the garbage passing for music today is pure crap, I had cable the day MTV began, it made some musical groups larger than life, what I learned since taking vocal lessons is the amazing quality of the singers who could sing live just like the record, I'll give you two examples: Vixen live Cologne, Germany 1991 "how much love", then Survivor "is this love" after watching the music video find Jimi Jamison singing live, exactly the same as records, finally, Scandal, type: Patty Smyth "whole lotta love" David Letterman, in fact you can type in: The Midnight Special Heart "crazy on you" Ann Wilson's voice is incredible.👋👍

This song has been in my head a lot lately, had to come listen to it. Saw them open for Duran Duran in '87 and have been a fan ever since. He's got such a beautiful voice. Song takes me back to high school in the late 80s, definitely better times.
Musically, this is extremely well done and quite unique in its structure. The subtle chord changes against the soaring vocals have a greater impact the more you listen to it. My first time hearing this and I like it a lot. Reminds me of the higher quality synth productions from the early 80's like Howard Jones. Love it!
Vince Clarke is a genius and influenced SO many others. My first synth pop love is OMD and a young Vince was inspired by their song Almost and that's why we have the Vince we see today and the awesome bands & music he created.
I'm a millennial who LOVES 80's but somehow only recently heard this song for the first time. (I know, that's nuts.) It made me stop dead in my tracks and just sit there for a minute in amazement because I was thinking those same exact words! "Uniquely structured." Wow. And just totally sublime.
This song is incredible. It flirts at all stages with breaking into an epic anthem, but never quite goes to that. Keeps the listener wanting more as it unfolds. Vince Clarke masterful as always! Funnily enough, if I concentrate I can hear Alison Moyet singing the vocals too. In another universe it would have been a hit for Vince in Yazoo. 80's pop icons

Jaja y pensar que la primera vez que escuché Erasure tenía 5 o 6 años!
