I mean, I can attest that I paid an incredible amount of money for a coffee mug. After my mom died I took her coffee mug that she used every day, and drank coffee from it for a few years. Then one day my cat (intentionally) knocked it off the counter. It smashed into 40 pieces and I was devastated. My wife found the same mug on eBay for $48 + $16 shipping, and I bought it. Still use it every day. It’s not my mom’s mug, that she held in her hands, but it still makes me feel good and reminds me of her.
