I ran one in a full kreig squad with a Psyker and with us agreeing about the medpack working once. That team held an objective against a Grey Knight strike squad w/ a Champion attached and then later a terminator squad because I kept getting lucky on both types of feel no pains and then I could fall back and let my Russ and my Basilisk fire on position. They did fall eventually but they held so well that they were my only unit to fully die.
First time using these guys today. 3 squads of 20 kreig with one of these marshalls in each squad. Amazing how many times my brothers space marines couldn't kill anything from the squad! MIND BLOWN!
Reporting for Duty , Sir Death Korp Marshall for Death Korps = Ms Creed for Cadians = Straken for Catachen Just different special abilities that specialize with their Regiment
I have used 3 marshal in about 6 games so far in combination and without primaries psykers. Marshals are S+++ amazing in 20 blob Kreig squads. The look on aponents faces when 10 thousand sons flamers just bounce of guardsmen is beautiful.
I like the Death Korp Marshall and I don't think he should be changed; however, I think he's over tuned compared to other options in the Guard. I'm just waiting for other Detachment rules that support super mobile tank guard (Tallarn style) and maybe close-q melee (Catachan style). If your preferred guard army style is Krieg with huge amounts of "out of line of sight" this edition is HOT right now. Don't get me wrong I'm still gonna run Straken + Catachans + Platoon Squad.
i figured out the marshal, platoon command squad, 20 kriegsman combo for a couple weeks now. realized for a while anyone taking this is definitely in it for the long haul and hard to deal with if not deleted in one turn.
imo one of the main advantages of the platoon squad merged with a frontline troops blob is the 6+ fnp. so with the marshal that would be a nonbo. id rather throw a platoon squad far into the back with extra order enhancement and a mortar to give take aim to 2 medusas/earthshaker carriages per turn.
@@whitemiasma5288 oh. theres free download to all the points for units on the warhammer community. the PDF you're looking for is called munitorum field manual.

Have you noticed btw about the Death Korps of Krieg troopers. They no longer have the Medpack Ability. in the army builder tool straight from GW. it is still not updated on the Erata. but it might come later on.
This Strat does work went against a custodes and I had 1 DOK squad with the Psyker and Marshal they didn’t die until turn 3 and I managed to kill 3 spear guards in the process
4up ranged invul and 5up fnp is a must. I had ranged eldar and knight shooting bounce off that combo. It also allows you to move move move. On many tables you can turn 1 advance and rush objectives and gum up the board.
I think the main problem the guard has in 10th edition it's that it is an extremely pillowfisted army. You need a Hellhound+a Leman Russ Exterminator+Fields of fire just to lower the armor of 1 unit enough for the rest of your army to finish it off. I face mostly space marines and mechanized armies and can't find an army list that allows me to both play the mission and also kill some of my opponent's pieces. Anything that has a 2+ save (most heavy infantry and vehicles) is pretty much unkilleable for most of a 2000pts Astra Militarum army list.
Quick question, because I've been a little confused by this. But what Krieg units have specific (official GW rules, as in, they're included in the Index Card set) rules? Because I've also heard a lot of Krieg is just cosmetic flavour.
only downside to having him make the kriegers so tanky is that they will never get off there ability to get +1 to hit often and almost never wound, which is the strangest thing to hear from guard infantry but i guess it balances out in the points of the marshall and making it harder to give krieg bonuses.
One thing I didn't hear mentioned: The Marshall is even more of an auto include now that artillery guard have been nuked from orbit and infantry guard are looking like the most viable competitive strategy.
Nuked from orbit is a bit dramatic. Guard Indirect is actually more oppressive now if you take carriages. Everything else got punished more. What was the counter to carriages? Other indirect which other armies are now being discouraged from running
I know carriages win out on paper, the gap between them and basilisks and manticore should have been shortened not lengthened. Mortars and now better than a wyvern. The poor FOB's! Both the rapiers and 2 heavy weapons lascannon squads look better than a heavy Las, it didn't even have indirect fire!
@@keyanklupacs6333 that's kind of the point I was trying to make. They hit everything indiscriminately. We may still be competitive with carriages, time will tell. But infantry guard are looking really good.
I’m coming back after not playing for a few editions. I’m trying to wait until the rumoured Krieg book, before moving passed 1k points. Godspeed our book, GW!
Question: Isn't the marshal and psyker two separate characters? Can a krieg squad have two characters? If so, where can i find this in the core rulebook if applicable? Thanks!!!
The title is clickbait, but the marshal is easy "A" tier. He gives a very strong fnp of 5+ with the medic very strong and noticeable smaller than a platoon squad what passivly makes it also more durable like hiding or against "blast". AND THIS VIDEO GIVES SURELY VERY GOOD TIPPS AND COMBOS!👍 You should really do a video for the Enginseer who is S-Tier in my opinion.

Idk if this is with the new points, but it seems solid. Also, earth shaker carrage batteries imo are better than basilisks especially when standard officers can order them eventhough they are BS 5+
1 thing you didnt talk about is how the Marshal also has a 25mm base compared to the base Castellans 28.5mm. Additionally, the Cadian Command squad has 28.5mm bases but the Platoon Command has 25mm as well. Is it a major advantage, probably not but it shaves a few mm off the large units footprint.
It’s auto include cos unfortunately 10th is gonna be one army build for every faction. Soon very soon people will work out the optimal list and all you will see is identical lists everywhere. That’s 10th edition

Okay, is it me is the platoon command squad just flat out better? Sure, the FNP from the medic is only a 6+, and there's no insane bravery shenanigans, but it seems to me the +1 OC from the banner, the added wounds and bodies and the potential punch from either a HWT or a special really skew the scales here (the master-vox exists too I guess). And that's not to mention the attaches, namely the master of artillery, who I feel is an actual auto-include if you're going for the artillery meta. Am I in the wrong here? Hadn't played any games yet so pure theory-craft here, so I'd be honored to be corrected by ye longbeards out there.
