    Still annoying that Tauroxes of any stripe can’t take Heavy Stubbers or Hunter Killer Missiles like virtually every other Astra Militarum vehicle. It’s one of the annoying things that’s come from GW not giving options for anything that doesn’t come in the kit. One thing I do recommend is getting a wheels conversion for the things, either from a company like Victoria Miniatures or 3D printing. It greatly improves the appearance, making the Taurox look more like a real world MRAP. And if you have some Lascannons lying around you can take the track units and use them to make Rapier Laser Destroyers.

    I have always loved the taurox primes , they gave you a chance way back when scions were first an army of its own, glad they still are viable.

    Scions hopping out of a Taurox prime is OP on objectives

  • @paulclifton9488
    @paulclifton9488 Год назад +6

    Before the 9th codex the Taurox Prime had 20 shots on the gattling cannon, could gain exploding 6's from the regimental trait, auto wounded on 6's to hit even when moving and could gain a 5++ from a relic. The Taurox Prime is in no way shape or form 'better than ever'.

      You make a good point! But being a force multplier is very very valuable in a scion army :)

    What I've liked in a prime is a 5 man squad of scions with a scion cc squad attached. The scion cc squad is 20 points more than a regular 5 man, brings 2-4 special weapons (depending if you take a medic/vox), sustained hits, an order, and an additional plasma pistol from the cc giving the squad a little extra punch. That's up to 6x special weapons (2x melta and 2x plasma is a must) and 2x plasma pistols out of a prime with sustained hits, reroll hits, and reroll wounds. Great at creating gaps and clearing objectives.

      I'm a big fan of volley gun and plasma gun with command rod - doubling up on FRFSRF and Take Aim is devastating.

      Add a primaries psyker for focused witchfire and its devestating wounds ability. Now it has rerolls to hit and wound

    Tauroxes actually look really good when you replace the tracks with big offroad wheels. Never thought of it before.

    It sounds to me the reason the Gatling cannon is the weakest option for the prime now is because everybody who wanted Gatling primes already had like 4 already since we all bought 6 of them them back when the start collecting boxes were $85 -$$95. Now that the Taurox is now $60 the only way they can push the model now is by busting the variant most of us already had the most

    GW needs to buff Transport Vehicles. Astra Militarum literally can't run their infantry in Transports because they can't give their Infantry Orders, while they are inside of a Transport Vehicle.

    Do you think including one Prime with one squad inside is viable? I only have about 30 Scions and a single Taurox.

  • @davidthomas2870
    @davidthomas2870 8 месяцев назад

    Ya know, I wonder if it's viable to just use these as light tanks by just having them carry a commissar? I know it sorta wastes the special rule of this unit, but it's fast and fairly cheap, cheaper than the classic Ogrin Party bus chimera and has punchy guns with strength 9 missiles and autocannons. Might be an option for a silly list

    Dakka is dead, long live Dakka. I like Taurox primes since I got them in 8th. I just think they're neat.
    Not sure what to stuff in there though, 10 and a primaris psyker? 5 and a scion hq? Scion hq and ogryn bodyguard? Is rough as it only seats 12 and oggy counts as 3.

    • @Per_Sun
      @Per_Sun Год назад +1

      Can an Ogryn climb in? Does it count as a Scion still in 10th? Would Attaches, by extension, also get the green light to climb aboard?

      Kinda but not really. Lord Solar is necessary for vehicle lists. You want your Taurox Primes to receive orders.
      I'm running Lord Solar, 6x Armoured Sentinels with lascannons, 2x Scout Sentinels, 3x Taurox Primes full of scions, and a bunch of chaff. So far so good.

      Take a look at Grim Prints. They have a Sd.kfz 251 with options to equip it with all the Chimera and Taurox weapons. I am picking up at least two for my Krieg Grenadier "Scions" to ride around in.

    • @OR-6
      @OR-6 Год назад +1

      The Grim Prints Stuff didn´t really float my boat, and conversions only remind me about how ewerything about the Taurox is wring,however there is a substitute called Vargr Moblie Transport that looks pretty sweet, some kind of somewhat modern MRAP that also has subtle 40k vibes
