The most creative imaginary friend in a horror movie is Jodie, from The Amityville Horror. They don’t show her true form until the end of the movie - when the family is driving away, you can see a red eyed pig through the window. That’s Jodie! This detail is taken from the real family’s story. The daughter claimed that she had an imaginary friend - who was a red eyed pig named Jodie.
Pinocchio’s Revenge was a pretty decent Imaginary Friend/Killer Doll Movie. I remember watching it a Saturday afternoon once when I was a kid and it’s stuck with me ever since
@@skyhunter2816 Most of their movies are around $5 million and under with some around $10 million. So when the movies make $30 million - $80 million (just random numbers for the example) in a single week they made their money back and a decent profit. Most movies need to make double their budget to turn a profit because of marketing, theater profit cuts and so on. That's why it's easy if the movie is $5 million and you make $40 million in a single weekend it's a win. They made $30 million in profit in 1 week. Where Marvel movies need to make at least $600 million to just break even.
Please do a review for Cabrini!! Such a GOOD movie. Just saw it in theaters yesterday and I was actually blown away by how good it was. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it
Maybe I’ve gone insane but I weirdly liked this movie, this was one that I was keeping an eye on because while I thought the idea looked kinda cheesy there was also a part of me that had a strange curiosity about it, and I oddly found myself enjoying it I think the biggest plus of the movie is by far the little girl, she’s absolutely terrific here, she is so cute and her relationship with her family as well as her imaginary friend early on is so good, and when it starts to turn on its head and becomes more violent she totally sells those scenes too, I also liked seeing Betty Buckley again, I’ve always liked her from her movies with M Night Shaymalan and so it was cool to have her in here And while early on I was enjoying the movie from more of a guilty pleasure kind of standpoint weirdly enough once it got to the point with the girl trying to hurt herself it actually became legitimately investing and I stopped laughing at the movie and just started enjoying it normally, I also thought the evil version of the bear was cool and the last act had some really cool visuals I’d say my biggest complaints are for one the older daughter, she was so unlikeable, throughout the movie she was such an asshole to her stepmom for like no reason, I get that she’s upset about not being with her real mom anymore but at the same time it’s like what did your stepmom do to deserve this kind of apathy from you? The other is the ending, because at a point it literally looks like the movie is about to end but then out of nowhere something happens that leads into *ANOTHER* climax, I was like “Wait, what the hell? Where did this come from?” You know what it felt like? You know how some movies have alternate endings that they release on Blu Ray after they come out? This felt like they took the original ending and the alternate ending and created this fake out scene to bridge the 2 of them together, it was so weird and it felt like it didn’t fit together at all Look, maybe I’ve gone insane but I strangely found myself invested in this movie, I acknowledge it wasn’t the greatest and early on it definitely felt more like a guilty pleasure kind of experience but as it went on it kinda started working for me, the acting is very good, it had some decent scares and ultimately I ended up having a good time with it. 7/10
Same!!! 7/10 the movie was pretty good. The story is for sure there and would watch it again with somebody that hasn’t. Wouldn’t mind a continuation that’s maybe not PG 13 but I do like the movie.
This feels perfect then. Me and my buddy gonna see this next week and can’t wait. Even if it’s bad, we’ll make fun of it. So you gotta always find that middle of enjoyment
I'm definitely in the minority here... but I actually kinda liked Imaginary 😬 More specifically the second half, because that's where, in my opinion, it gets really creative and looks like they tried to make something good, both in the set design and some of the cinematography. The first half, however, is as generic as it gets filled with jumpscares and dream sequences. I mean the second half still has those things, but at least it goes in an interesting direction.
I sat in the theatre trying to figure out why no one in this big house ever turned a light on. They walked around in darkness for no reason with no TVs at all the whole time. The house is a good 3500 sw feet so it’s not small at all
This is why I still watch Jeremy's content. He's not afraid to give a movie deserved criticism. Not like certain someone who lost all integrity as a movie critic.
Nobody’s forcing you to watch Chris. He has been clear for a while that his channel is not for criticism anymore. I don’t really get why people are upset about it when it’s his channel.
@@godspeedrebirth Ah, the old and debunked "if you don't like it don't watch it" argument. He is a movie critic. He is officially labeled and certified as such in various places such as Rotten Tomato. He is refusing to critic movies he thinks he will have to "bash" on, which counts as a dereliction of duty. All this is because he is now in the movie circle and has to cater to his friends in Hollywood. All the critics who also worked in movie business didn't hesitate to call out films that deserved harsh criticism. Also, criticizing a movie isn't "bashing" as Chris puts it, by which he is putting other critics under the bus. I am not watching his videos anymore, but he does have an obligation as a critic to provide his audiences with genuine criticism of movies. That's why he gained his followings and its how he got into the movie business in the first place. If he wants to go the route of a movie director who never criticize movies fairly for what it is, he needs to put down his title as movie critic.
I used to watch both of them.... but I tend to side with chris.... and disagree with Jeremy. They just have different opinions and perspectives. I enjoyed their movie😂
If I were the one who made this, this is what I would have done: Leave some "mistakes" in the film; e.g. Chauncy looks slightly in some shots, in order to mess with audience perception. Move Jessica's nightmare to somewhere near the end of act one or start of act 2, so we can focus on developing the relationship between Jessica being a mother and really develop the characters of the daughters beyond precocious child and bratty teen. Go H.A.M with the visuals in the dreamworld, make it look similar in style to "Yo Gabba Gabba" (i.e. Bright colours and soft rounded shapes). Go full Eldritch horror with Chauncy's final dreamworld form. Give the kooky elderly neighbour an actual villain arc instead of springing "surprise, I manipulated you so I can go to dreamworld. " in the character's last minute of screen time. Instead of Jessica saying hurtful things to open the doorway to dreamworld, it really should have been bratty teen daughter who said something awful to Jessica. Make the fake out ending the real ending, to act as real gut punch.

Bro this is so random but I used to watch you like 10 years ago and you just recently appeared on my suggestions after all these years, it’s so heart warming to see you’re still at it and with the same fire theme before every review starts, keep it up old friend 🫡
15 years and your dogs shit reviews still don’t get old. Keep on keeping on Jeremy ✊🏻
The 2024 top 10 worst list is racking up fast!
The Alfred "Failed you" had me rolling!🤣😂
Thank you for actually translating that quote. The accent made it hard for me to make out what he was saying. 😂
@@TheFreshSoundsFloridano problem.🤣
I love these reviews!
Please review the movie Cabrini from Angel Studios!
I got to see a pre screening and I LOVED IT😭
The most creative imaginary friend in a horror movie is Jodie, from The Amityville Horror. They don’t show her true form until the end of the movie - when the family is driving away, you can see a red eyed pig through the window. That’s Jodie!
This detail is taken from the real family’s story. The daughter claimed that she had an imaginary friend - who was a red eyed pig named Jodie.
Love your channel 🙌🏼❤️
Thanks! 😊
That might be the funniest review I've seen Jeremy do. Top 5 anyway.
Jahns has me clicking now that some...uh, "seasoned critics" have stopped actually reviewing films
Damn-it, I saw this advertised in my local cinema and actually thought it might be worth going to see. Guess I can wait for streaming now.
Blumhouse and Jeff Waldow at it again…
First class Alfred impression 🏆
Good, now I feel justified for choosing to just rewatch Dune 2 again this weekend.
I would love to see a review of Cabrini. Wondering if it's any good
NOW that's my level of scary movies. Not too much, creative, a plot twist, and put effort into making it make sense.
I can’t believe you watch this, but we never got a review of ‘No one will save you’. Was really keen on hearing your opinion about it.
Would love to see you review Cabrini next! From the same people that made Sound of Freedom.
Imaginary, Night Swim, FNAF, Exorcist… Blumhouse sure is on a heater!
The thumbnail is all like. WHAT *IS* THIS?
Interested in your Cabrini review. I was blown away with the Cinematography.
Thank you for saving me $15.
Pinocchio’s Revenge was a pretty decent Imaginary Friend/Killer Doll Movie. I remember watching it a Saturday afternoon once when I was a kid and it’s stuck with me ever since
I thought this was that Ryan Reynolds John Krasinski movie for a second lol
No, that's IF.
That's what i thought too.
It's good to see TED is still getting work
Why do Blumhouse make so much money on nothing movies
Their movies are all relatively low budget, so if they have 1 or maybe 2 good weeks at the box office that's all they need for massive profits.
How*
@@skyhunter2816 and how
@@skyhunter2816 Most of their movies are around $5 million and under with some around $10 million. So when the movies make $30 million - $80 million (just random numbers for the
example) in a single week they made their money back and a decent profit.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on it
Another disappointing Blumhouse release? Color me shocked! Remember when we used to look forward to Blumhouse movies?
Meh
We did?!
We did?! I mean maybe about 10% of their movies are decent, about 5% are good or better.
"Half of being a parent is causing new damage" - Jeremy Jahns
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍💯
Maybe I’ve gone insane but I weirdly liked this movie, this was one that I was keeping an eye on because while I thought the idea looked kinda cheesy there was also a part of me that had a strange curiosity about it, and I oddly found myself enjoying it
I think the biggest plus of the movie is by far the little girl, she’s absolutely terrific here, she is so cute and her relationship with her family as well as her imaginary friend early on is so good, and when it starts to turn on its head and becomes more violent she totally sells those scenes too, I also liked seeing Betty Buckley again, I’ve always liked her from her movies with M Night Shaymalan and so it was cool to have her in here
And while early on I was enjoying the movie from more of a guilty pleasure kind of standpoint weirdly enough once it got to the point with the girl trying to hurt herself it actually became legitimately investing and I stopped laughing at the movie and just started enjoying it normally, I also thought the evil version of the bear was cool and the last act had some really cool visuals
I’d say my biggest complaints are for one the older daughter, she was so unlikeable, throughout the movie she was such an asshole to her stepmom for like no reason, I get that she’s upset about not being with her real mom anymore but at the same time it’s like what did your stepmom do to deserve this kind of apathy from you? The other is the ending, because at a point it literally looks like the movie is about to end but then out of nowhere something happens that leads into *ANOTHER* climax, I was like “Wait, what the hell? Where did this come from?” You know what it felt like? You know how some movies have alternate endings that they release on Blu Ray after they come out? This felt like they took the original ending and the alternate ending and created this fake out scene to bridge the 2 of them together, it was so weird and it felt like it didn’t fit together at all
Look, maybe I’ve gone insane but I strangely found myself invested in this movie, I acknowledge it wasn’t the greatest and early on it definitely felt more like a guilty pleasure kind of experience but as it went on it kinda started working for me, the acting is very good, it had some decent scares and ultimately I ended up having a good time with it. 7/10
Same!!! 7/10 the movie was pretty good. The story is for sure there and would watch it again with somebody that hasn’t. Wouldn’t mind a continuation that’s maybe not PG 13 but I do like the movie.
Same here! Rare that I disagree so fully with Jeremy but I had a good time with t
his one!
I actually enjoyed it. 😊 It was a mix between original ideas and super reused ones. But still, it kept me interested. Surprised me too. 😊
Yeah you summed it perfectly. Me and my friend we were rolling our eyes sure of where it was leading to but the ending was damn good
Yeah it was pretty good 👍
I heard Cabrini came out this weekend too, is it any good?
Sounds like I’m rewatching Dune 2 this weekend.
Stop over hyping the star wars wannabe
@@KadenHartley Star wars was inspired by this so called star wars wannabe lol
if you can find it, watch 'Perfect Days' instead!
@KadenHartley you got that backwards bruh. Star Wars is the dune wannabe
This feels perfect then. Me and my buddy gonna see this next week and can’t wait. Even if it’s bad, we’ll make fun of it. So you gotta always find that middle of enjoyment
It's produced by Blumhouse. There's everything you need to know.
I mean the second half still has those things, but at least it goes in an interesting direction.
i forgot this movie was a thing
I sat in the theatre trying to figure out why no one in this big house ever turned a light on. They walked around in darkness for no reason with no TVs at all the whole time. The house is a good 3500 sw feet so it’s not small at all
This is why I still watch Jeremy's content. He's not afraid to give a movie deserved criticism. Not like certain someone who lost all integrity as a movie critic.
Not I think it’s right but it’s clear he isn’t trying to burn bridges since he’s making a movie now
Nobody’s forcing you to watch Chris.
Have you watched When Evil Lurks? Interested to see your review on that.
Please review Cabrini. The most empowering and uplifting movie I've seen in a long time.
im glad some movie critics are still willing to be brutally honest cough cough chris stick man
I used to watch both of them.... but I tend to side with chris.... and disagree with Jeremy. They just have different opinions and perspectives. I enjoyed their movie😂
If I were the one who made this, this is what I would have done:
Leave some "mistakes" in the film; e.g.
Jeremy Jahns > Chris Stuckmann
They aren't even worth comparing these days, Chris is a sell out
Please review the movie out this weekend called “Cabrini” - you won't regret it! Powerful, influential, and amazing.
