The "garbage" line was the best. I have to admit: I was secretly hoping you'd just say "no" and shut off the recorder. I do like that you explain out what you wish they'd have done with this. I'm like 3 million years old and when I was 5, I started in on comics. I've been a huge comics fan forever. When 2008 Iron Man came out, I lost my mind with excitement. I've missed the last maybe 5-6 comic movies on purpose, maybe 10. I think I stopped around 2nd Shazam. (Deadpool 3, though).

What's funny about the Raul Julia comparison, if they had kept the comic character design, that of crazed, shoeless, homeless guy in a tattered 3 piece suit, the character would have been the PERFECT vehicle for a theater trained actor to come in and just chew the scenery to bits. But that would have required better writers, casting, and foresight and self reflection on the part of the director.

There was a point in time where I really thought Spider-Man would be treated better in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than he (and his world) is with Sony Pictures. At this point I don't know WHO would treat him (and his world) worse.
I'd say he definitely is being treated better in the MCU. The problem is that Sony are trying to make all these spin-off Spider-Man movies that aren't interesting people unless Spider-Man's in it and they can't use Spider-Man if he's in a different universe, unless you wanna do another multiverse movie but they shouldn't. They've already done it with No Way Home, people don't wanna see another one especially if this time it's with the Sony characters that a lot of people don't care about.
@@donazard8884 I feel like the Spider-Man MCU films are an anomaly. Especially No Way Home cause it along with Shang-Chi were the ONLY stunning films of phase 4. I wouldn't want to see a Spider-Man in college trilogy with new villains UNLESS I knew for a FACT that Marvel can make good content CONSISTENTLY.
Sony has an entire arsenal and inventory of what movies they can make involving Spider-Man characters yet they always choose the weirdest routes. The concept for this is good on paper but so far from what we've seen it's looking like an Arrowverse TV show.
Every time I see or hear any mention of Madame Web, I think of the 90's Spider-Man cartoon. I prefer that version outside of the comics. She was also voiced by Stan Lee's wife, so there's that...
Honestly, Jamie Lee Curtis would've made a great, more comics-accurate Madam Web. But everyone needs to be young for more of that all-audiences appeal and multi-film franchise potential. And really, Sony needs to just give up and let Marvel Studios make their "Spider-Man without Spider-Man" movies, because then Spider-Man can actually be in them and interact with these characters who are largely just supporting players in Spider-Man's orbit. It's like how Warner Bros. just kept pumping out Batman TV shows without Batman in them. It's really just a studio beating around the bush without coming out and saying what we're all thinking - these characters just aren't as interesting without the main character around.
It's funny given how much movies are desperate to push supposedly marginalised or minority characters and yet... old age? Nooo that's just not sexy or trendy enough.
I thought that the movie was trying to mix Cassandra Webb (the old Madame Web) and Julia Carpenter (the younger one). That's why I thought they made her young in this

"I don't know who the villain is." Looks like Jeremy in a suit. haha
Jeremy is doing his own after credit scenes now?! A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
Find it funny he pulled up that image of the "spider guy" and didn't immediately say "Oh look, it's me. Jeremy!" lol
Sony has an entire arsenal and inventory of what movies they can make involving Spider-Man characters yet they always choose the weirdest routes. The concept for this is good on paper but so far from what we've seen it's looking like an Arrowverse TV show.
Even the Arrowverse was better than during the first 3 years than this lol
Every time I see or hear any mention of Madame Web, I think of the 90's Spider-Man cartoon. I prefer that version outside of the comics. She was also voiced by Stan Lee's wife, so there's that...
I want more of you doing acting Jeremy! Like that Matrix thing you did! Clearly you have the comedic timing and understanding of the craft.
He literally did Jim Carrey when he said 'Hotttttttttt....Garbage!!!!
we thank jeremy for taking the hit for us!
"As long as I'm being underpaid for it" LMFAO
That was one of the smoothest transitions into a "word from our sponsor" that I've ever seen.
One of the few critics out there with Integrity . May jahns never want to dream about making films one day
And the fact that Jeremy looks like Ezekiel Sims makes it even better
No, there shouldn’t be any Spider-Man spin-offs, PERIOD!
Marvel Studios doesn’t own the movie rights to anything Spider-Man
Including Spider-Man himself
They have to ask Sony’s permission to use him
@@HardlyQuinn Shows how hypocritical SJWs are.
I thought that the movie was trying to mix Cassandra Webb (the old Madame Web) and Julia Carpenter (the younger one). That's why I thought they made her young in this
The verbal slide in to product placement was sublime. Fun review as well
