Honestly, I understand Crosshair. The guy just wants his glorious purpose, he's fearful of being reduced to a regular man instead of someone of importance. We have to remember the only thing clones know is war, so for Crosshair no war/conflict to fight against means no purpose and the last thing anyone wants to feel, a soldier especially, is to feel like they are useless. So he is so fearful of that dark abyss that he went the lengths that he did for the empire and its why he has such a strong attachment to it, that its his tragedy. Sure he has the rest of the Batch but they were his only glimmer of hope for him and not once did the batch try to devise some sort of plan to try and rescue him even after learning how to take out the chips so he feels betrayed and after that he truly felt alone. Sure the Batch have to protect themselves and Omega first and foremost but even after everything, considering crosshair is their brother in crosshairs eyes they should've tried harder to convince him. It's like when you do something bad and subconsciously you want your loved ones to steer you in the right direction and not to indulge you. Crosshair was looking for more validation and reason to leave the Empire. The only thing that crosshair can identify with, the one thing that never truly left him, is his duty as a soldier and he is scared to open his eyes to something new and all of this is why crosshair is the most captivating of the batch so far. Not only that but remember Echo alluded to this when he said to Hunter in that one episode “We’re soldiers. What other path is there?” so in a way echo knows how crosshair is feeling in that sense of not understanding what life can even like when not fighting. Hell , the Bad Batch have no concrete purpose right now outside of protecting Omega, they've just been job hopping instead of having a definitive higher purpose in life that they could have with Rex and friends. I truly hope though that the batch decide to aid Rex in the clone revolt that’s being formed, I think that’ll be the only thing to make crosshair happy as he would then have another stable purpose.
Very well said; a poignant and exceptional analysis of Crosshair and the tragedy of a singular minded soldiers. That scene in this episode is also a damnation of nations that raise men only as soldiers whose only purpose is war, conflict, death, and loyalty to brotherhood regardless of morality (Samurai, Spartans, and modern day elite and special forces members). Over the years, I have come to love the Clones and despise the Jedi. Irregardless of who spurred their creation, The Jedi became slave masters given the clones were raised and bred for the sole purpose of waging war and dying for the republic. The beauty of Clone Wars and characters like Rex, Gregor, 5s, Cut Lawquane, and all the other clones was that over time we see them maturing and developing individuality, reasoning, and independent thinking.
i really hope crosshair doesnt redeem and join the batch again. it will be a perfect end to his character if he realises the empire is bad and sacrifices himself for the batch to escape. i want to see crosshair kill rampart too, one evil man ended by his own elite squad leader.

I believe Crosshair was lying. We legit saw the Empire enhance his inhibitor chip back at the beginning of the season. Why would they let him remove it?
As we saw with many of the clones, the inhibitor chip makes them less competent because they lack independent thought. Maybe they wanted to take it out so crosshair would be more useful.
@NEO but what if it was a different type of chip? Something that was put in the hard code actions but once removed those hard coded actions were residual
I can only imagine echo is the next episode saying “Hevy and many of my brothers died to protect our home just for the empire to tear it down in seconds”
It was truly a sad moment to see what brought us the clones, which we new and loved to be completely destroyed by none other than the clones themselves. It reminded me of the end of the clone wars. It is sad to know that the clones are truly done.
Here's a detail you missed: I might be mistaking but when the bad batch fight the droids together with crosshair is the first time we hear the bad batch theme sense episode 1 mining that cross hair belong in the bad batch and might actually return next episode or next season Again I am not sure if I am right so this hall thing might just be wrong
I’m pretty sure their theme actually appears a couple more times in throughout the show. One really good version of it is in episode 8 when they are inside the ion engine and they are placing detonators around it to break away as it turns on. On the official soundtrack playlist it’s played in the track called Breakaway Plan starting at 3:14.
@@skywalkerpanyt oh yea your right But when thinking about it in that scene it was a runion between the bad batch and crosshair and the theme was much slower suggesting that they are not fully reunited not as much as the latest episode showed us

Not to worry, the Clone rebellion will happen… somewhere… god, I miss Kamino! Ayo, why can’t the Empire scrap Kamino’s facility… y’know for their Imperial stuff…
Tipoca City wasn't the only city on Kamino. Unless it was a planetary bombardment, a clone rebellion on Kamino could still happen. They'll use the destruction of Tipoca City as their rallying cry.
Great vid. Going back and watching the episodes where the Bad Batch left Crosshair every time, I can now see the hurt in his expression mixed with anger. At first, I thought he was always just angry they got away and he couldn't complete his orders/mission. Also, the look he gives Howzer while being arrested/taken away...I thought it was just anger for Howzer not following orders & being a reg, but now I see it's part jealousy/anger how Howzer stayed (and risked arrest) for his squad and Hunter/BB didn't for Crosshair.
18:02 Damn.... that music just makes this scene hurt me, that cloning facility served the republic for a long time, loyal clones who served to protect everyone from evil like the separatists and fight alongside Jedi, only to just destroy their own home with no hesitation.... This hurts so much...
@@eddieram435 And they left him behind, they betrayed him. If Hunter's chip was activated, and he followed the Order to kill the Jedi, the rest of the squad would've devised a plan to save him. Crosshair's chip activates, and they try to convince him to leave the Empire, knowing full well he had no choice but to follow orders.
@@anakinlowground5515 I hate that plot device...Makes the clones act like Battle droids. A chip is one of the worst plot devices ever conceived by Filoni which conpletely detaches from everything we saw in Revenge of the Sith. The clones we have in the legends were trained to follow orders and when Order 66 came, they complied. The chip made Palpatine an idiot, and not the mastermind we loved from the saga. Clones acting like battledroids because of a small "Made in China" computer chip. Filoni is a terrible writer.
@@eddieram435 In my opinion, it only makes Palpatine smarter. I see the chip as a failsafe, just in case the clones wanted to disobey Order 66. It shows that Palpatine had the foresight to realize that by the end of the war, many clones would not want to kill their Jedi generals by the end of the war. Cody and Kenobi, Rex, Ahsoka, and Anakin, Plo Koon and Wolffe all highly respected their generals, as well as the respective men of those batallions. They were all very attached to their generals by the end of the war. Palpatine put the inhibitor chips in the clones as a failsafe, just in case. He just wanted to 100% ensure that Order 66 would be a success, seeing as it was a critical part of his grand plan. If Order 66 failed, he would be removed from his position. He could not take the risk of Order 66 failing. If it failed, all his planning would be for nothing, the years of grabbing power, keeping the war going for as long as possible. What power hungry person wouldn't want a failsafe to ensure a critical stage of their plan succeeded?
I think there would've been more of an impact if they showed a shot of the clone barracks as that is where 99 died, domino squad graduate and put aside their differences and where rex, cody, fives, echo , 99 and some cadets repel droids during the invasion of Topoca city
I think that Crosshair's starting to come around. When he said that he had a choice, he didn't... actually try to kill them - or maybe he was avoiding it after his inhibitor chip was taken. He wants things to go back to the way they were, and sending the girl away would be a compromise that works for both of them.
In both cases it actually makes since. For Grogu’s species being 50 is like being a kid. They can live to at least 900 years old For Omega it seems the Kaminoans didn’t let her see the same military action and actually let her be a kid mostly Although I think she is actually still younger. In Episode II the Kaminoans said they could make clones in half the time instead of a life time Given that Nala Se let Omega see a secret lab, she may have told her about the Bad Batch, hence how she knows they were enhanced there As far as we know the clones were already being grown well before Episode II. When was the Bad Batch created? When was Omega created? She seems to be is a unique clone like Boba, just genetic replication no enhancements So yes she has been alive more but they are older due to the growth acceleration
Gregor got shot in the last episode, so he’s probably still too injured to help rescue hunter p.s. the revelation that omega is actually older than the bad batch was pretty sweet
depending how you look at it, this is the actual final episode of The Clone Wars also the really sad thing is for Crosshair he's in limbo right now, he can no longer go back to the empire
Crosshair’s inhibitor chip enhancement made crosshair to be loyal to the empire while he can also think using his own brain instead of brainlessly obeying orders
Something I remembered when they opened fired on kamino was there was supposed to be a clone rebellion that was lead by Bodda Fett so he could take back his fathers DNA or that’s what I think happened… I also remember that the Kaminoens where joint to make a special batch of clones in phase one armour to fight the phase 2 troopers but like I said I’m. not sure
I think it was one of the "GOOD" to the empire clones like how Cody stayed with the empire and was a stormtrooper commander. Maybe they were gonna keep him. But that is just a theory. I could be wrong.
Fun fact, at 17:43 the clone officer shown has the insignia of the open circle fleet on his uniform. This means the venators used to destroy the city were once under the command of General Skywalker
The reason the writers made it so Gregor is placed with Cid is because we know that Gregor survives to be in Rebels, however at the end of this episode we dont know the fate of the bad batch. If Gregor went with them then it would hint that the bad batch have a good chance to survive because we know Gregor would survive
I'm wondering about the sole remaining Elite Squad member. Dave Filoni has said nothing appears by accident in animation; the story's written so that she isn't killed by Crosshair, and we then get a brief scene where we see her run outside and board a shuttle which takes off and flies up to one of the Venators. I get the feeling that scene was put in there _just_ to make it clear that she gets off Kamino and survives. Why? Will she become a more important character at some later point?
It’s really great how this show explains the development of the empire in its early stages and fills a lot of gaps in Star Wars. I always wondered what happened to kamino after the clone wars and now I know. Rest in pieces kamino😢
Given that Kamino is a planet and that the GAR was so large, there must have been more cities and cloning operations. So we might still see "Kamino" again
Did anyone else notice the similarities and homages this episode had to Cloud city? The way the bad batch snuck around Kamino to find and save Hunter had a lot of similarities to the way Luke snuck around Cloud City when he was trying to rescue his friends. Just thought it was a cool detail
I am Prodicting the Series Finale right now. Think about this, they said it's going to be very sad, tear jerking. Let's think about this. Bad Batch is a Spin-off from Clone Wars, what is the darkest thing they could do to end the show. Both Tarkin and Rampart don't like the Clones, and are in the Process of Building there Army of Stormtroopers. They just destroyed Tapuka city. The Empire is Erasing the past. So what would be the saddest and most fitting way to show the true end of the Prequel Era, then Killing off the only beings left from the war. The Clones themselves. The Empire has no use for Clones anymore, and know they could defect Like Howzer and some of his men did. So I think Rampart had all the remaining Clones moved off world so they can take them to a unknown planet, and Execute them all in one blow, and Bad Batch and Rex, Gregor, and Wolf will Witness the mass Genocide of there remaining brothers. And it fits with the Empire and Palatine's plan, The Clones Purged the Jedi from the Galaxy, so to end it all, The Empireal TK Stormtroopers will Purge the Clones from the Galaxy, and the remains of the Clone Army of the Republic will be wiped out
I don‘t think that will happen. Because at this point, they simpli dont have enough tk troppers to replace the millions of clone troopers that are in the army + they don‘t have a salarie so, it wouldn‘t make sense
Gregor was shot, he likely is being treated. I mean he dies later on in his life to a shot practically identical to that. My guess is he cant help save hunter

I believe Crosshair was lying. We legit saw the Empire enhance his inhibitor chip back at the beginning of the season. Why would they let him remove it?
It was likely damaged when his head was burned, so they had to remove it
As we saw with many of the clones, the inhibitor chip makes them less competent because they lack independent thought. Maybe they wanted to take it out so crosshair would be more useful.
Whats not to say he never had it? But something far mor sinister?
@NEO but what if it was a different type of chip? Something that was put in the hard code actions but once removed those hard coded actions were residual
Maybe it got bombarded by a star destroyer engine
18:04 i started crying in that moment R.I.P Kamino 2002-2021.
Here's a detail you missed:
I might be mistaking but when the bad batch fight the droids together with crosshair is the first time we hear the bad batch theme sense episode 1 mining that cross hair belong in the bad batch and might actually return next episode or next season
Again I am not sure if I am right so this hall thing might just be wrong
I’m pretty sure their theme actually appears a couple more times in throughout the show. One really good version of it is in episode 8 when they are inside the ion engine and they are placing detonators around it to break away as it turns on. On the official soundtrack playlist it’s played in the track called Breakaway Plan starting at 3:14.
@@skywalkerpanyt oh yea your right
But when thinking about it in that scene it was a runion between the bad batch and crosshair and the theme was much slower suggesting that they are not fully reunited not as much as the latest episode showed us
"We have empowered the Empire, much to our detriment." - Lama Su.
As commander colt would say "you broke rule number one" they really did leave crosshair behind they spent more time taking jobs from cid than looking for crosshair
I was surprised at this episode
I didn't fell bad for Kamino, maybe I am a monster? but a place where people were bred for war and treated as garbage by some aliens, who were in fact, their owners, and the clones were their slaves, I don't fell that bad.
Ig I didnt really care either since it is just one city. There were others (they may have been destroyed though which would be sad) and many other underground facilities. However if it is all gone now I am sad since I loved this setting and location more then many real characters.
Yeah but it was a symbol and the last reminder of a bygone era and it was home to so many good memories
It was where so many clones died defending their brothers. Most importantly the place where 99 died
@@SaeParsan symbol of an era of opression against the clones the republic was no better than the empire so fuck kamino, my only regret is that the kaminoans werent there to be blown up
Only feelings were bc of the Clone Wars show, the nostalgia. You're right it's fraught with enslavement- so it's destruction is complicated. Certainly a good thing to happen but it was still home
Amazing episode! Probably my favorite in the series up till now!
I would've love this two part finale would be on the same day.
Will this mean when playing lego star wars the skywalker saga in the original trilogy and sequel era that kamino will be destroyed?
Probably, if they decide to add it in, other than that they could add it in a bad batch dlc
@@JerryDaGoat- that would be suck
Sick*
I love how the shuttles have been updated with an extra fin and different looking wings to look more like imperial shuttles. I noticed it last episode too.
When the clip of the venators firing down on the city started, I fr thought this man was playing music out of the destiny orbit soundtrack.
3:57 - the improved CGI between Attack of the Clones and The Bad Batch is rather striking...
Gregor didn’t go to Kamino because he got shot in the last episode so he was still wounded and needed to be taken care of by Cid.
I nearly spat my food and drink when the cartoonish Lando laughed out of no where
We’ve seen crosshair use his mirrors in s7 e4 of clone wars btw
2:26 Gregor is a loose cannon, and considering that the Bad Batch are going to attempt a rescue, I don’t need to explain why this is a bad idea
Yo still can’t believe cross hair decided to stay with the empire
We always get the same clichés in Star Wars. What Crosshair did is his best move because the Bad Batch are known to harbor the Jedi Order.
Yo dude the empire’s pretty cool
I think Gregor didnt drag along because a: The writers forgot, or b: he was shot two times by Scorch last episode.
I think that Crosshair's starting to come around. When he said that he had a choice, he didn't... actually try to kill them - or maybe he was avoiding it after his inhibitor chip was taken. He wants things to go back to the way they were, and sending the girl away would be a compromise that works for both of them.
Grogu is also older than din djarin but din treated him like a kid
In both cases it actually makes since. For Grogu’s species being 50 is like being a kid. They can live to at least 900 years old
For Omega it seems the Kaminoans didn’t let her see the same military action and actually let her be a kid mostly
Although I think she is actually still younger. In Episode II the Kaminoans said they could make clones in half the time instead of a life time
Given that Nala Se let Omega see a secret lab, she may have told her about the Bad Batch, hence how she knows they were enhanced there
As far as we know the clones were already being grown well before Episode II. When was the Bad Batch created? When was Omega created? She seems to be is a unique clone like Boba, just genetic replication no enhancements
So yes she has been alive more but they are older due to the growth acceleration
Actually, when they were fighting alongside each other, Crosshair said he has hid inhibitor chip removed.
he didnt lose his mind, was his plan all along to recruit them empire, calculated
3:22 this is an amazing detail playing the same music for the first and last sight of kamino
Gregor got shot in the last episode, so he’s probably still too injured to help rescue hunter
p.s. the revelation that omega is actually older than the bad batch was pretty sweet
depending how you look at it, this is the actual final episode of The Clone Wars
also the really sad thing is for Crosshair he's in limbo right now, he can no longer go back to the empire
It was a great episode
Is it just me or the way he says Gonky is heartwarming
Fennec Shand was told to protect Omega. And Cad Bane is still looking for her....
2:47 I can see hunters communication device being like "Waiting for pairing... conected"
The clones protected Kamino with there lives, now years later they're destroying it themselves.
Crosshair’s inhibitor chip enhancement made crosshair to be loyal to the empire while he can also think using his own brain instead of brainlessly obeying orders
Psalms 23:4
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Omega: *a kid yet older then everyone*
Hunter: “Experience outranks *everything* ”
Something I remembered when they opened fired on kamino was there was supposed to be a clone rebellion that was lead by Bodda Fett so he could take back his fathers DNA or that’s what I think happened… I also remember that the Kaminoens where joint to make a special batch of clones in phase one armour to fight the phase 2 troopers but like I said I’m. not sure
*Super serious and sad intro then landos laugh* makes everything better.
All of those battles were fought over kamino, fives, 99 all died for this to still happen
I didn't cry during the show but you made me cry with that sad piano music with kamino being bombarded BOMBASTIC!!!
15:13 did you notice that it’s a clone on board of the shuttle? Is it a mistake or on purpose?
I think it was one of the "GOOD" to the empire clones like how Cody stayed with the empire and was a stormtrooper commander. Maybe they were gonna keep him. But that is just a theory. I could be wrong.
I was wondering that too. I thought all clones were transferred. Also the venator's crew was clones. (even though I think everyone saw that) Weird.
Fun fact, at 17:43 the clone officer shown has the insignia of the open circle fleet on his uniform. This means the venators used to destroy the city were once under the command of General Skywalker
F for kamino
This might’ve been the first “Details you might’ve missed” where Andrew really hit near the heart
jango would possibly be disappointed
Why do you feel sad about the destruction of a place?
Because it's the end of an era, our favorite era...
Exactly how I thought about it. End of the era that made me a fan of Star Wars
I legit started crying when they showed shots of the empty facility.
I’m in Spain, but without the S 😔🙃
She looks like the mother of Iden Versio (Battlefront 2 Campaign)
@@VaytexFX the one who looked like Iden was holding the flamethrower she dead
It’s really great how this show explains the development of the empire in its early stages and fills a lot of gaps in Star Wars. I always wondered what happened to kamino after the clone wars and now I know. Rest in pieces kamino😢
So many dammed bf2 matches there, with no tanks :(
I loved kamino now that the main city is broken it’s like all the planet died with it
Given that Kamino is a planet and that the GAR was so large, there must have been more cities and cloning operations. So we might still see "Kamino" again
Yeah so basically Kamino has a lot of cities and production facilities but tipoca city is the capitol and it’s implied the rest were destroyed
The piano song he played during the destruction of Kamino, I straight up thought it was from Destiny at first
Imagine if the kaminos just had a fail safe for the clones . To prevent the empire from using the clones against them . Smh
Haven’t watched you in ages, nearly cried when I saw you again

Did anyone else notice the similarities and homages this episode had to Cloud city? The way the bad batch snuck around Kamino to find and save Hunter had a lot of similarities to the way Luke snuck around Cloud City when he was trying to rescue his friends. Just thought it was a cool detail
Gregor didn’t go with them because we know he lives as he’s in rebels and I fear that no on in the bad batch group will survive the end unfortunately
There’s going to be a second season so most or all of them will definitely survive
@@someclownontheinternet9398 wait really, if that’s true I’m happy
I liked the part when the flying pizza slices went "Pew pew pew!"
Is it just me or is crosshairs armor SO SEXY
I thought Crosshair was gonna try to ramp up Hunter’s inhibitor chip but it wouldn’t work and then Hunter would act like it did lol
And in fallen order, we see clone troopers so…
17:17. Crosshair doesn’t have a scar from chip remove! What I discovered, He was lying about his inhibitor chip!
Gregor was shot, he likely is being treated. I mean he dies later on in his life to a shot practically identical to that. My guess is he cant help save hunter
Dam the kamino destruction was emotional
He has not lost his mind he is correct long live the empire!
FOR THE EMPEROR
15:14 I think when the doors close you can hear blaster fire
