    I totally agree with everything you fellas have said on this video. I had a severe case of Crohn's disease for 6yrs and I went whole food plant based and I now have absolutely no symptoms or any sign of the disease in my intestines and I have stopped taking all medications. Plants are the answer to great health. I haven't done your course but I have made loads of your dishes! Thank you for your passion to healthy living you guys have definetely helped me and my family enjoy cooking with plants. Well done!

    This dish looks so yummy, all those lovely ingredients! Thank you for all the very important information too. I had some stress recently, and had terrible digestion problems. As soon as I calmed down and dealt with the issue, tummy started feeling better again. Proof of the gut/brain connection. (While I had symptoms I also fasted, eating very little, mostly just a bit of fruit. This gave my digestive system a much needed break too). 😇💚🙌🌱

    Cool vid guys, looking very tasty, but I think cutting oil is a strange idea I see in several vegan youtubers etc - there are no essential carbs, but there are essential fatty acids (that we need to ingest, as our bodies requires them for good health, and can't synthesize themselves). Now, I agree that excess oil is not the best for your health, but some fat is not just good, but required. I see ther's coconut milk, still it's a low fat one, so the fat elimination obsession continutes ;) It's not just about lowering callories and increasing fiber.

    • @thehappypear
      @thehappypear  Год назад +5

      We get this comment a lot and we understand. This isn't the only meal your going to be having in your day so you can't blow your fat allowance on it. One serving of coconut milk has 13grams of fat, a tablespoon of oil has 14 grams, and you pick up grams through out your day. An adult male rda is 30 grams. I'd rather not use oil and enjoy my breakfast and lunch without worrying about over doing it on the fat at dinner.

    • @tomasz79tom54
      @tomasz79tom54 Год назад +2

      @@thehappypear I also understand your reply and this attitude, and I agree it's about finding the right ballance - maybe 'cooking with no oil' can sometimes send the wrong message and will make some people try to avoid fat too much. On the other hand, some of us for sure eat too much fat, so again, it's about finding ballance.
      All the best, guys.

      you need essential _fats_, but not processed _oils_. You can get the fats from whole foods. That said, I use oils in moderation as long as I keep saturated fat under 10 g per day.

    the info above states "[t]he more you know about the food you eat the less chance you'll have digestive issues or any sort of gut related [sic] illness." How is that possible? Wouldn't I have to convert that knowledge to action and alter my diet in light of this and knowledge about my gut chemistry (and biology probably) to have any effect on gut health? I do not see how knowledge about food alone could possibly be sufficient.

  • @kelsie9912

    Looks yummy! But you guys are talking about low calorie and in 400ml light coconut milk is 512 calories, 51g fat, 44g Saturated fat. I’d rather use a tablespoon of garlic infused olive oil for 165 calories, 18g fat, 2.8G Sat fat. Isn’t that better? Wayyyy less calories, still getting healthy fats in and much less saturated fats. Also, I know you guys talking about low FODMAP and digestion and IBS - which I have - but the written recipe says 3 cloves of garlic which is MASSIVELY high in FODMAPs. Infused oil is the only way I can get garlic or onion flavours. Otherwise it looks delicious. Maybe I’ll put my own spin on it!

    I’d say average calories are higher. Or should be anyway, I’m 5’0” (152cm) female and (granted I’m very muscular) my maintenance is about 2100cals. I can’t imagine the average guy on that little. Long story short - this supports your point even more, considering calorie density you can eat LOTS more. Which is fun for me 😂

    • @thehappypear

      There's a few arguments against it. We're not medical experts but from what we gather from Dr. Alan Desmond, It can affect how effective the acids in our stomach are at breaking down the food putting more pressure on an already under pressure irritated bowl or digestive tract and it also speeds up food exiting the stomach. If someone suffers from digestive issues or gut related illnesses breaking the food down and as effectively as possible in the stomach is important.
